Hubert, on the other hand, had been in the performance game for a long time: Broadway shows, dancing, acting, etc. She was problematic on set - hell, even the butler says in this clip that she couldn’t handle the fact that Will Smith was the star of the sitcom. They (producers, etc) tried to negotiate w her; Hubert said “no”! (Did y’all catch that in this video: *Hubert* said “no”). Once she found out production wouldn’t agree to her demands, she tried to come back to the show, but they had already moved on. She should have been awesome enough in her craft (and through the reputation she had created even before Fresh Prince) to move on to other things after the Fresh Prince gig. But she was problematic. The blame lies with her. Will Smith did not have that kind of power back then to take a woman completely outta the game! She made bad moves on her own, and should have aligned herself with better people to look after her interests properly.

2:44 I really think that after they made up Will compensated her financially in some way, and rightly so. The first three seasons of Fresh prince were the best, it lost it's flavor after that. It was still enjoyable but Aunt Viv brought something so authentic to her role and that's why she will forever be iconic and the real Aunt Viv. .
