It is a shame that this girl didn't become a bigger star. She had the pipes, could write and looked marvelous. A lot of people don't know that she is the one that wrote "The Man In The Mirror," which became a hit for Michael Jackson from the album "Bad," which also featured his duet with Siedah on "I Just Can't Stop Loving You." It's too bad that Siedah came along about the time when mediocrity and flash over substance became the order of the day. This girl truly had it all.
Saw Baby Boom today...my kids all grown...made me realize I made the right decision for me.. I'm a 51 year old man...that despite my illness.. smiles come to my face with songs like this.

Me in 2022! One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies ~ "Baby Boom." When I was a child in the 80's, I wanted to grow up in the world the way it was then. I truly wish I had.
Sincerely praying that all is well with you, and in your ongoing battle that you are the victor. May God's blessings pour out abundantly on you, always.
This song was an eye opener for me. I actually listened to the words one night and after decided to made some profound changes in the life I had left. Never looked back!❤
Really, that's your sister? I know a lot of people feel this way, but I feel like no one loves this song more than me. I'll never forget seeing it on New York Hot Tracks, probably December of 1987. Then, don't forget we didn't have internet, didn't know how to get a hold of this song. Took me FOREVER to get the right version. Such a great arrangement and no one else would have pulled off Garrett's subtle and convincing vocal.
I love the film Baby Boom and I have ways loved the beautiful song from the time I first heard it many years ago. Everchanging Times" is a song by American singer Siedah Garrett. It was written by Burt Bacharach, Bill Conti, and Carole Bayer Sager with Bacharach and Bayer producing the song along with David Foster for the 1987 romantic comedy film Baby Boom, directed by Charles Shyer. In 1992, the song was released as "Ever Changing Times" and was re-recorded by American recording artist Aretha Franklin for her thirty-sixth studio album What You See Is What You Sweat (1991) with Michael McDonald having featured vocals. The song served as the fourth single from the album.
Thank you for uploading or sharing or whatever. This original version I adored. When Queen Aretha remade it, and I thoroughly enjoyed but, I felt it buried this original hit. Siedah should've gotten way more recognition for this when it dropped.
Carla Linton. I love Siedah Garrett. She is one of my favorite R and B Female Artists of the 1980s.One of my favorite songs by Siedah Garrett is called. Ever-changing Time. This is one of my favorite old school jams back in the day.
Wow... Was watching BABY BOOM and this song came on. Totally took me back to elementary. This was my dear friend Pam's favorite song at the time and we would try to sing it at recess. She made it on over to the other side the same day my sweet daughter was born 19 months ago. May God rest her sweet soul. I love this song, although it brings bitter sweet memories for me😔
Sorry you lost your friend. That's sad . I'm a huge Michael McDonald fan and this song just popped into my head the other day . I am a huge music fan . I remember Michael doing it on a cd . But I do love Baby Boom . Maybe that's we're I heard it first I'm not sure . It was in my subconscious m
My friend took me on the Coast hwy in So. California, on the way to a beautiful outdoor restaurant for my birthday . Such a perfect spring day! The sky and ocean were the purest of blues. The sun 🔆 was glistening on the water. Then this song came up and we both got teary eyed. It makes my heart ache - in a good way. Love this rendition. It reminds me of how much fun (and some heartache too) I had in the eighties.
Emelia Tagoe: I can 'see' the past unspool when I hear this song in the context of the film. I visualize watching the movie with my wife (she passed away too young from cancer in June 2002) then in these later years watching with my fiancée (after-effects of cancer surgery in April 2016 claimed her precious life) and the lessons of life are driven home in the absence of some really beloved and wonderful people. Best wishes.
I cry when I hear it and reminds me of what I once had and lost it and my heart breaks. I cant believe I was so wrong. And I love just because it's just such a beautiful song.
TV ONE better get to cracking. Siedah Garrett is definitely "Un Sung". I remember when this song came out. I trying to sit and listen, watch, and not cry. That's how relevent it still is.
In order to fully understand this song, you have to fully master the essence of what time really means. One cannot understand its meaning until time has passed and you have both love and lost, to become aware of its existence. Time is the essence of that which both has seen and yet to come. The only truth from it will be either a joyful or painful memory. And it will be in that moment that one becomes totally aware of the purpose of how valuable time is! Peace!
