marillion with were magic, marillion with H are still magic in a different way, Fish solo is magic in a different way, it's just progress of life , we will always have the four albums , i love everything they have done, except maybe the album somewhere else , that wasn't very good , but the rest are great, brave and marbles are masterpieces, as is sunsets on empire and vigil
I guess , it´s been recorded by the East German TV during their Festival in Berlin Weissensee in June 1988. Many years later, Marillion released this concert as " Fishing behind the Wall".I recognized the sound, due I own the whole concert on tape.Very rare material from a magic night!

Do think H is technically better singer, but Fish owns these songs in a way that can't be matched or copied, and anyone attempting to sing them is always going to come up short. No offence to H it's just the way it is.

Just read one comment..lead singer is a Drunken bum.....well not bad career for a Drunken bum...wrote 2 of best concept albums ever to be recorded...that's a fact....an without the booze we wouldn't of had clutching at straws...FACT.. ( to the comment writer I say ..were only human, and we love pleasure..even to excess..no matter the cost ..a human weakness or in this case maybe was a potential strength)
Fish is great (more like was) except for his daft politics. I wish he hadn't lost the top octave of his voice, as that was great to hear and see. It's easy to see what Fish is as a writer, though, when you realize he doesn't play an instrument or really understand chord progression. All you have to do is compare what he does with great writers, such as Marillion and some of solo cowriters (especially Sunsets)- just brilliant. When he's working with writers that don't know the importance of chord progression, like "13 star" (watch the documentary) it's forgettable. As far as Hogarth- Marillion did the only right thing a band can do when they lose a key singer, get someone totally different and become a different band altogether. Nobody cares about Hogarth singing old Marillion, as they have a long catalog of great material sans Fish. Both eras are great, and only comparable as different bands would be.

Purtroppo e' proprio cosi......La voce ormai e' quella che e'.....durante le performance dal vivo e' costretto a cantare in tonalita' molto piu'basse a causa dei suoi noti problemi....Peccato.....Ma il personaggio e'un tipo che non demorde !!! Lunga vita al Pescione !!!

I agree. Fish is Marillion, A real Podium animal with a great voice and performance. I visited two concerts in the eighties in Rotterdam, awesome!

I agree. I seen Marillion with Hogarth and they didn't touch anything of Fish's work and It was a waste of 2 hours waiting for a song I knew.
