Also they are still going to release the album because it’s Tim’s last work and they’re want to give attention to that.
Wtf. Its Crazy. Im only an spectator from the far. Its awful that this has to happen. Rock, groupies, tour and all of the components of alternative culture might have always been a cover for bad things to happen (not every time, but a lot of times) Being that the band parted ways with Tillian is just a matter of how he will manage to tell his version or accept guilt. I got into Dance Gavin Dance during the first year of pandemic. I had listen to times new roman back in 2008 and the image the band put out for themselves was very appealing, just fun and being silly. If Tillian was having a bad time, struggling to control some bad impulses, I feel for him too. I hope he takes responsibility, To the people making the allegations I hope there's something they are actively doing to get over it and keep going forward with their lives, and if there's the case, get justice. Honestly as just fans we can only make our mind for ourselves and hope that the good stuff matters more than the bad stuff...

For sure remember that it isn't Dance being accused here, it's Tilian. The musicians of Dance are still legends in their own right, and there's no call for tearing down the respect for them in whatever is justifiably coming to Tilian.

Ive been following this band for 15 years now and they have gone through 3 vocalists. Trust me, they will come back even stronger.
Tilian hasn’t done anything for DGD in my opinion. He sucks. I’m glad he is gone. The band is to good for him

It almost seems like karma for firing Kurt and bringing Johnny back on. I understand that Johnny was (technically) the stronger vocalist, but Kurt wasnt a total piece of shit at least.

@@farkle Kurts vocals at the time couldnt keep up. You are totally correct. Kurt really struggled with live shows back then. Hes gotten much better though.

If any band can pull through something like this, its deffinately Dance Gavin Dance. As long as Will and Mat are OK, DGD is far from dead. I honestly think that for these guys, replacing Tillian is less of a big deal than the death of their bassist, and they were all set to continue on after that.

Yeah Jon, Will and Matt have been together since the beginning and Jon had to leave during Happiness and Self Title because of Lyme disease.

I think we have to wait for stuff to actually get confirmed instead of repeating the tobuscus situation because everyone can just write fucked up stuff and claim that it’s the truth.
Apparently this girl has a history of doing this type of thing. Anyone can read her story and see some inconsistencies between her 2 posts. While Tilian's texts that he shared seem to indicate he's a bit unhealthy mentally, I don't see any indication of her being afraid of him or her bring manipulated or abused by him.
I don't think he should be kicked from the band based on this, alone.
Agree, but no one follows up after the initial outrage. The second victim (only actual victim) was kind of confirmed though, but not nearly this egregious. Sad people are so reactionary.
@@XavierMacX I’m curious how a girl who states she wanted to hook up with tillian but who had a rule of not sleeping with someone on a first date breaks her rule deflects the responsibility on him instead of herself then has him canceled. If it was some random dude she would’ve never said shit but tillian is mildly famous so it’s his fault.

Tilian uploaded the text messages that were sent between him and the first girl on reddit seems kinda good on the defense side for him idk (I know its just messages and not in person stuff) but the allegation from the 2nd woman looks pretty bad
That girl is super clingey psychopath, if you read the comments it turns out she is well known for her bs, so that one is total bs. The second accusation is more believable, but the text messages seem totally normal, and there is no evidence really, it's just "he said/she said"....
So ya'll haven't seen the new texts he posted...? That chick definitely put him on blast because he lost interest. Everything between them was consensual, albeit weird - but looking through the things she was saying to him AFTER that supposed incident, it totally tanks her credibility for her story. She constantly was texting him for weeks after that incident even saying shit like "if you're ever around and need someone to spit in your mouth hit me up" or some shit like that. Who says that to someone who allegedly SA'd you...? Her story is BS, and now his career is completely and totally fucked.
Yeah the whole thing is not as black and white as people were saying initially for sure. The initial hate wave were saying he raped someone and SAd another girl and it just seems like a lot of mixed communication especially from the 2nd victim.
I do hope the band continues to do its thing, with or without Tillian people will be upset no matter what they do which is the most unfortunate part of it.

This news doesn’t surprise me one bit. At this point, when it comes to bands that used to play on Warped Tour, I just separate the art from the artist. It might be hard for some people to do that, which is completely understandable.
It is a little messed up to do at first, but you get used to it. Their is controversy within any band it seems. DGD being my top band makes it much more difficult for me though. I met Tilian with a VIP pass once and he came off as a stand up guy for my first impression.
Honestly same man. I have found that whenever a band started years ago or that they played Warped that there is always a good chance that some of the members of the bands will be scummy.
Usually I will take a long break from the bands but damn the music is usually so good. It really does suck but I am happy it gets called out.

@@colemueller4919 I met him VIP on one of his solo tours. Seemed like a really nice guy. He loved talking to the fans and was willing to sign anything and everything I personally loved having a conversation with him. It saddens me this is happening to my favorite vocalist and favorite band
To be clear: downfall in the title isn't meant to be a jab at the quality of the band's music, instead it's about the members' alleged actions, and of course the tragic death of Tim Feerick in April 2022 & the heavy rotation of members since they formed. Those that have been following the band since the early days know how fast they can adapt an overcome heavily disfavoring odds. The only difference today is cancel cultures domino effect. I’m sure the band will be fine but always keeping my fingers crossed. Jon, will, and Matt have helped me through some tough times with their music I definitely hope this isn’t the end for them.

I just feel for Will and Matt. They put everything into this great band. For it to be slighted by others.
This band can never catch a break. Shout out to ALL of the victims that spoke out knowing that they'll face backlash. To admit that you were sexual assulted is difficult, but I cant fathom the strength it took for them to tell their story about the lead singer of a well known band.
My heart goes out to them and I hope that they get the help they need and have a soild support system.

As gutted as I am remember this is DGD and if there’s one thing these guys are good at it’s bouncing back. No disrespect to any past members (as musicians) but Will, Matt and Jon are really the heart of this band and have been around since the beginning, so as long as they’re around they’ll always come back stronger
This year has probably been the most unfortunate year for DGD and I guess this is about the nail in the coffin for the band. I extremely love this band, I’ve been on urge to see them, and now I’m debating with myself again. Tilian I’ve already known already went through cheating allegations but, this is just crazy. I see DGD as just over after Jackpot Juicer which I still think is still happening and then Tilian could be kicked out or they disband. I wish it was March again where we were hyped for Synergy and Tim was still with us. As it seems without him, disaster after disaster is happening. I never want to see my favorite band go so downhill like this but, here we are.

Mmmm DGD is not the singers, they already have proven that many times... so with Tilian out, I don't see a problem in the musical career of the rest of the band. Will, Matt, Jon and Andrew are still masters of their own craft, this is not the end of DGD, it was not the end years ago...
They will get a new singer and they will carry on . I want Kurt Travis to come back

As far as I know the only vocalist that didn't have any controversies was Kurt Travis, and they kicked him out to bring back Jonny Craig a 2nd time.

Jon said in an Alt Press interview Will and Matt were unhappy with Kurt's vocals and that they wanted to break the band up after touring with him, but they decided to work with Jonny for one last album to test the waters again (DTBMII). Kurt said he didn't know the band was unhappy but agreed to leave willingly.
Regardless, Kurt's still the only vocalist who's got no dirt on him from what I can tell.
They kicked out Kurt when all he did was bring bangers and didn’t bring any trouble lmfao

I've been a huge DGD fan since 2003-04, whenever Whatever I Say is Royal Ocean released. They're my favorite band of all time. I've seen them live about 8 times, with all 3 different singers. This sucks. :(

I'm not one to deify celebrities. But I can't jump in on the Tilian hate bandwagon. All of the allegations of wrong doing so far are just that. Allegations. He may have admitted that there were relationships. But he also said he believed they were consensual. I believe in due process. And until there is damning evidence that Tilian is in fact a manipulator/creep, I won't crucify him with the mob.
And no, multiple allegations from multiple people doesn't mean much to me. There's dozens of comments on the subreddit saying Tilian has had "problems" in the past. And when they list the "problems", they're literally just crying about how Tilian follows people on Twitter they disagree with. Yeah, that's real damning evidence, guys. At this point in time, I can totally see some of the people who accused Tilian as being upset that he follows certain people.
But like I said: Due process. Give me irrefutable proof that he raped someone or manipulated them into sex and I will crucify him alongside you. And don't give me that "believe women" or "you're victim blaming" BS. A friend of mine nearly had legal trouble because of provably false accusations against him over the dumbest, most petty bullshit when we were in high school.
As allegations go they are heavy but until he's officially hit with something I'll hold my judgement

There's not gonna be any trials. People these days don't take things like this to the police to leave a report and press charges, they post in on social media, get the clout, ruin someones life and move on. Not the first time.
Tillian should go for a defamation trial if she refuses to go to court. She was sober and he was smashed. Lawyer would have a hay day.
That’s not how that works. Plus he would have to prove what she said wasn’t true. Everything they posted is either what happened or just their feelings about what happened. The factual things there are all probably true. The rest is just emotions you can’t prove weren’t true. And if he was drunk he can’t prove he didn’t do anything.

@@jnperez7685 they’ve lost 2 and always come back. They’re an impressive group of musicians. If Tilian is kicked permanently they’ll just find a new lead vocalist and a new era of DGD would begin. It’s so unfortunate that the “fans” that have liked them only since the allegations came out started crucifying the whole band, but it’s def not the first. Cancel culture is such an odd thing especially since the are just allegations right now. I hope everything comes to light soon and clears things up a lot more for both sides.

"Stepping away" is PR speak for "we aren't giving you a definite answer." If he was fully out, they would say "stepping down," "parted ways," "terminated," or any of the other definite terms of removal. Spreading these fake "Tilian is kicked out" rumors is pointless and dumb. And you should feel dumb, if intentional.
True. When lonesome ghost of MIW was kicked out for inappropriate content online they confirmed instant termination.
Just saw them live in April. Absolutely gutted, one of my favorite bands.

One of my best nights ever was meeting the band for their 10yr tour. I still hold that day near and dear to my hearts. A heartfelt conversation with Mess, and a dank blunt with Swan. The only thing I saw of Tilian was him drunk dancing on top of a bar. I think the band has made the right call to remove him from the band. As long as they keep him out, I’ll gladly continue to listen to them.

One of my longtime female friends loved Brand New passionately until the news broke that Jesse Lacey was an abuser. Then she was like well at least I've still got DGD and then she started talking to someone who represented the band and kept telling her could get her to meet the band and shit. She started dating this guy and idk exactly what happened but didn't end up working out. Makes me a little sad cause she adores this band. I know a lot of people that do. I know how shitty it was for me to hear that Jesse Lacey wasn't a great guy and I ate, slept, and and breathed Brand New. So, idk. This kind of stuff just always sucks.
Maybe take another look at the Jesse Lacey allegations. I believe them at face value until recently.

Ive come to realize that nearly all bands have baggage and shit we dont want to hear about. Ive also distanced my self from bands a bit. Ill still rep them but I dont get emotional about the bands falling apart. Its going to happen eventually, nothing lasts forever.

Damn with everything with Jonny before and after DGD I really thought things started to improve for the band and their image from a musical and social perspective (hard to replace any members of any band really and they did with 3 vocalists) but this too me puts not only Tillian in a bad light but unfortunately cause this cannot be an example of just being unlucky in selection - it’s upsetting as a fan and someone genuinely pumped to see them on the European tour

@@OleRazzleDazzler not at all. Kurt Travis split with DGD due to creative differences and he’s currently with Multiple bands as of now, him returning would be way too much and their styles already drastically different than what Deathstar and Happiness were
Who knows what the relationship is with Kurt. The band says Kurt was let go amicably, Kurt says he was kicked out.
From what I know is that the heavy rotation and from some videos I watched Kurt never truly felt part of the band and always felt like he was going to be switched out but idk if that’s right - Uneasy hearts weigh the most is a top quality track though
Regardless though, to answer the original question of Justin Sundby I really don’t think he would comeback to DGD especially after all the events transpired and how he’s already preoccupied with royal coda, scary kids scaring kids, and pushover I think

One bad news after the next one for the band.. I was going to see them live on September, because I absolutely love the band, especially with Tilian's voice. I am not sure how to handle this now, but I will wait for further informations on this. Hopefully, everything will end in a somehow positive way.

I'm one of the ones who was FINALLY going to see them in July! I've been a fan for over a decade and was so excited to see my favorite band live for the first time. :(
They announced they are still touring, just not with the original tour.
The dropbox mostly cleared him of the bigger accusation - the girl has a hustory of doing this. She dropped the reddit post the day he dumped her.
The messages are clear between them as well.
She also said MULTIPLE times in her post she had sex with him while he was intoxicated and emotionally vulnerable and she was sober/significantly more sober than him. Which means he couldn't give informed consent in those encounters. Even if he doesn't want to admit it himself.
Tilian always gave off that “swag” or “f boy” vibe but it always was apart of his style with how nice he dressed, and how nice he acted and sang. I’m not surprised he’d have a high sex mentality. I don’t hate him for this tbh, but that’s just my opinion.
Why are people in positions of notoriety treated differently when it comes to these things ? If he's found criminally liable for the accusations, the band should fire him. Until then, who are we to make an assumption (or the members of the band for that matter) ? This guy's take is a little too accusatory.

I don't know if anyone has seen but they just announced Tilians departure and are still putting out the album to honour Tim and the hard work they did to make it happen. I very much thought they would and I'm kinda glad they took this route. The rest of the stuff will be handled as it goes on. But I find the funniest thing being Jonny commenting DBM3 and the fans getting divided as shit. I feel he's had too many chances, abuse allegations aside (though that can't be ignored because he got a court date out of it so something must've been solid enough to build a case), he just keeps fucking up his own life. Im so heartbroken to hear about this. Im a huge fan of DGD and Tilian but now hearing this im so disgusted and have so many emotions. I even bought tickets to go see them on tour but now im not sure if I even want to see them. My heart goes out to these victims and the remaining band members. As for Tilian I hope he gets the professional help he needs and accepts his consequences to grow as a better human being.

Don't leave the rest of the guys hanging, if you bought tickets to see them you should definitely follow through with it. It isn't tillian you'll be supporting, but the rest of the guys & most importantly the memory of Tim :)
Just cause of his actions his music shouldn't be seen any different. music is a form of art that shouldn't be ignored or denied because of what it is tied to. This is what mind boggles me the most, many artist do things on par if not worse, but keep growing. Tilian will always have my support and of many others in terms of music .

Well, for starters Jesse wasn't accused of rape. Coercion primarily over Skype, yes to a minor when he was in his early 20s but to my knowledge, nothing in person (not excusing his actions, it's just been so long, like 20 years, I find that I'm able to separate the art from the artist since he's made major attempts to get his shit together. He's married with a kid now after years of therapy)

I don't consider this the end of the band. I just saw them in swan festival. They can easily move on with a new singer. If you haven't seen them live or hear the most recent couple of albums then you're really missing out on an excellent group.
Tilians the reason why I got into this band, so different from others now it's just gonna sound like any other band, that's just me.
I get it. Jonny will always be the singer I associate with DGD because he was the lead singer when I got into them. No singer really is DGD though. DGD has had 5 singers (if you include Andrew.) They aren’t a band like Journey where the only way to replace the singer is with somebody them who sounds exactly like Steve Perry.
As a huge fan of DGD, these posts hurt to read. I already knew that Jonny Craig was a piece of shit, but Tilian as well? I'm starting to get the feeling that DGD have had really bad luck with singers given that 2/3 of them are awful people. That's if these allegations prove to be true, which is unfortunately looking very likely. I know they managed to soldier on after Tim died, but this could very well be the end of DGD.
Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, the song Honey Revenge is literally about stalking someone. That should've been the first red flag.

a friend of mine who was 16 at the time, (and yes this MAN in his 30s knew her age) had a sexual experience with another member of dgd ... It is just frustrating how all the members pretend that they "didn't know". all of them were aware of what was going on and just chose to allow it. this scene has always enabled predatory behaviour from band members towards teenage girls, there is nothing more disgusting than a grown-ass man taking advantage of a vulnerable teenager (usually suffering from depression or bad self-esteem) who LITERALLY doesn't know any better. don't get me wrong, l have sm love for dgd's music and they have previously dominated my spotify "your top songs of 201X" playlists, I just do think it is important to acknowledge that the dgd members were all aware of what was/is going on behind the scenes

This is absolutely heartbreaking bro. From reading the reddit post (Spooky's especially) it seems like Tilian has a problem with drinking and boundaries. That shouldn't be an excuse though especially since DGD has dealt with Jonny Craig's bullshit for that long and they don't need a repeat of that. The hard part comes in when it is the question of Jackpot Juicer and Tilian's previous work with the band.
On JJ: It must be understood that DGD is a band which means more people are financially dependent on the release of music and merch and touring. With Tim's unfortunate passing (and because of something I read from before), they did intend on using this album as not only a dedication but a last payout to his family and those that financially depended on him. So now you have not only the other band members but also a family having to decide how they will make money after all the marketing and music videos they already recorded and may have some still waiting to be released. That pushes that back by a lot. They could find that releasing the record would be more beneficial than not in terms of money and making sure the rest of the band is okay. If that is the case, they should inform their audience of that before the release as well as obviously pushing it back until the end of the year when music is quieter or next year even.
**Another thing they could do is use one of their touring vocalists like Andrew to re-record the vocals for songs they have for the new album. Depending on how it sounds, this may be the best way to release the album. Maybe even scrapping the pre-released singles and making new ones or just not using them at all. This may take the most amount of time but if it is possible and not financially draining (meaning it would cost less then just rewriting and making a new album with a new vocalist).
On Tilian's previous work: I don't think it needs to be removed or anything. I think whether that previous music gets listened to or not should be up to the individual fans and I think trying to erase it makes it worse (or at least looks worse to outsiders). Also because they have still kept Jonny Craig's songs and albums up even after his confirmed involvement with scamming people and fucking people over while consistently lying about getting better (though to be fair I feel a fair amount of people kept enabling his behaviour). If they do get a new vocalist, they can have him re-record some of the popular Tilian songs like they were doing with the Treey City Sessions.
At the end of the day, it is fair to see both sides of what is going on with though I feel with at the very least what spooky has presented seem pretty substantial (though if he was as drunk as they claimed, he may not even be able to combat the allegations with his side because he can't remember or whatever). He still needs to at the very least apologise, go to rehab and leave the band unless he can find some concrete evidence that shows that the night went differently or that these are completely false or something because right now it looks very much like guilty . Which so far spooky's seem to be the main allegation that has merit and everything to it pending more coming out.
I don't think DGD needs to disband only because they were finally getting all the recognition the fanbase believed they deserved plus ending it like this will leave kind of a permanent blemish that I feel the other artists in the band doesn't need. At the very least, one last DGD album to send it off. Rebrand into a new band or continue the push of Secret Band. They seem really dedicated to music and the making of it, and it is kind of fucked seeing it all come crumbling. Plus from what I've seen online so far people consider Matt, Will, & Jon to be the heart of DGD and what has kept it going for so long. They are so used to lead vocalist changes that they are totally fine with them taking the time to find a replacement.
The test will be time. If Tilian shows how much he has changed after this or even if later on it comes out on the small chance that this is false/didn't happen the way it was said: how will Tilian be welcomed back if he does continue working with music. When it comes to entertainment, it is hard to do anything else for a multitude of reasons. This is how he's made money for a decade plus, it's not unreasonable to think he would want to continue it. I feel he'll still have fans like hardcore fans and just those that can separate art from then artist and won't support him past listening to his new music.
DGD is Will, Matt, and Jon’s band. They’ve been there since the beginning and on every album (sans Jon on Happiness due to health issues.) Singer, guitarists, bassists positions have been revolving doors for years.

If he didn't do any of these things, at the very least he needs to learn to be more careful because he is a celebrity and should move more carefully

DGD is my favorite band, I have been to 4 concerts in Oregon. I listen to them a lot. All the things that have happened recently is hard to take. This news has just made it all harder to take. Im almost in disbelief all this has happened to them.

I understand Tilian is not Dance Gavin Dance and the band‘s been around for a long time but this hits me because I started being a fan during artificial selection so I did my best to keep Tillins music in the bed in my playlists. It would’ve been my first time seeing them live

At this point I think that Kurt Travis is the only ex member with a clean rap sheet. I've met Kurt several times, & I met everyone on the 10 Year Anniversary tour, & Kurt was by far the nicest dude there. Matt was a close second. Kurt literally stood at the back gate & waited for us while we got our herbs out of the car, over 15 min, just to make sure we got backstage with him. He's very short though lol. We mostly kicked it with Kurt & Shayley Bourget (Dayshell, OM&M). Both very nice people.

I have been as massive DGD, until afterburner, when they found their "DGD" sound that is marketable. I am assuming, might be at the death of eidola, that Andrew will step up into cleans, or deserves them. I think Lower Definition released something recently, so it would be funny to see them with Matt Geise again. Maybe Kurt again (long shot) since he is with Will in Royal Coda. At one point Kellin Quinn had a demo with them, that won't happen, but still.
I don't think Andrew would ever sacrifice Eidola. He put his heart and soul into that band.
