This skip can be done in different versions of Hyperion tower. This version is by far the fastest/easiest.
This skip is insane, a real revolution in Returnal Speedrun!

Nice! I play this game in coop, and i noticed those grapple points are gone in some people's game. Not sure if its story related or the devs patching this
this is still there, I just did it. Obviously the progress is not saved, so you can't go to Biome 6 using the pool afterwards, you'll have to do the trick in the video again. Further more, the layout of rocks that enables this trick, is not always there. Great trick, just be mindful of those things
Thank you! Yes it is still there and all you wrote is correct, it does not give you the boots so you'll need to do the OOB trick again if you want to return to B6.
That said, this is not the only way to get to B6 from B4. There are other techs for some of the other Hyperion tower layouts but they are a little harder to pull off ^^

But you can run from 4 to 6 next to room boss and drop directly to biome6 as far as i remember so why is this needed?
Yes you can, if you have beaten biome 5. The point here is to skip Biome 5.

What the fun?
There was a Glitched category of Returnal speedrun but it was not used until now. The new skips will allow us to finish the game faster, in around 30min. So now we double the fun! The Glitchless category still exists where the skips are banned but now there is an additional option to speedrun Returnal.
Oh yes Speedrunner are hot on this game and it's not like dark soul and elden ring ;games when you already how to run it cause from software is so previsible and mediocre actually!
