Woodturning - Cholla Cactus Wood

Smaller project this week while I work on some larger projects and catch up on some coffee mug orders. Made from Cholla Cactus Wood. I've seen something like this but in a square form, thought it would be good to make a round one!

Interesting machine set up you have there. I saw this a big lathe that was Laguna. What do you use for your smaller metal leave?

Well ... I had to look up cholla cactus and cholla cactus wood. I'd never heard of it. Makes me wonder who had to remove all those needles. Yikes, I wouldn't want to pass by one, concerned of getting "shot". The chain fruit will jump on you. CRAZY.

Well I never expected anyone to make something so creative and useful out of Cholla Cactus Skeleton..... I live in Arizona and they grow crazy wild here. I've had horses that have backed themselves into a Cholla cactus and let me tell you they are not fun. Beautiful job as always! ❤❤❤❤
