I put an AXG Grip Module on my M 18. Is that basically what this is?

kind of, it's got the threaded barrel, magwell, performance trigger, cowitness sights, different optics cut.

I wonder if I can use the metal frame on the M18

Yea you can. Just need to remove the safety or have the frame cut for it. I have an AXG frame with the m18 slide.

I removed the safety and put an AXG grip module on my M 18. It's my favorite pistol now.
