    I've been wanting to make marzipan for quite sometime and was skeptical about finding the right recepie for it. Thanks to your channel. I followed your instuctions to the T and got the perfect and delicious tasting marzipan. Loved your crisp and clear speech too. For the others out here, this definitely is a fool proof recepie.

I then put all it in the mixer after making smaller pieces with hand and ground it fine and then kneed with water. Thank God It dint go to waste. Also it's very very sweet even though I put only 175 gms of sugar. Next time will try with 125/ 150 gms . :) Merry Christmas to you n fly!

    Awesome, it seems so easy to make the homemade marzipan. Thanks I shall try making it. We get the readymade rolls but they seem hard to work with. Can I dust powdered sugar in the moulds so they drop out easily. I have the ancient rubber mould bought in the 70’s.

    • @TheAspiringHomeCook
      @TheAspiringHomeCook  4 года назад +1

      Hi Olive, I find that if the consistency of the marzipan is right, you should be able to get them out of the rubber moulds fairly easily too without having to use sugar. Try using the cold water test as shown in the video to check when the marzipan is done. Hope this helps.

    • @TheAspiringHomeCook
      @TheAspiringHomeCook  4 года назад

      Hi Richa, it depends on the weather. If its not too hot, it should last for a week to 10 days. You can store it in the fridge to increase shelf life, but it could sweat a little when you take it out of the fridge.

    Very nice demonstration, can almond flour be used instead of whole/crushed almonds, will it be the same technique for preparing it? Thanks a lot 🌹🌹

      I've never tried it with almonds / almond flour, but I believe the cooking process should be more or less the same. If you do try it, I'd love to know how it turns out. :)

      Hi Pallavi, I haven't tried this recipe without eggs. I do have an eggless recipe on my site. You can find it here - theaspiringhomecook.com/2012/04/how-to-make-marzipan-from-scratc.html

    YOur recipe is awesome, can you tell me which pan you are using and if I can get it. I live in Mumbai. Another thing, I hear cast iron is best used against any non stick, can you tell me which cast iron pan and kadai are good, preferably the name and the size, will be much obliged, thanks so much. God bless you

      Thanks Larry. This is a KitchenAid pan. I'm not sure if its available in Mumbai, but any wide, heavy bottom pan will work too. I love my range of cast iron pans. I use the Lodge brand. I'm hoping to do a detailed video soon on the pans (brands and sizes) I use and it'll have more details. Make sure you're subscribed to the channel and turn on notifications to get new video alerts. 🙂

      @@TheAspiringHomeCook vow this video will be much appreciated. I have been going through all these cast iron pans and cannot decide which one will be good. Lotus brand is expensive but you know best. Waiting for the video. Thank you so much. God bless you

    I liked the pan in which u made the marzipans. Can u tell me where can I get it in Mumbai? When we use rubber moulds do we need to grease the moulds first?

      I'm not sure where you'll get it in Mumbai. But you can find details of the pan in this video - ruclips.net/video/A6tYKSm8TGg/видео.html
      Maybe look for something similar locally.
      .... and no need to grease the moulds when you use this recipe.
