I too am and became a professional trumpet player. Cut my teeth as 1st Chair for the entire four years at my high school. Again, as I listen to this cut, I have in-fact been waiting for these songs to someday reappear. Here, SunCat in essence, was the Little Brother or J. Bocock's very popular arrangement of 'Tiger of San Pedro.' ' Wholly Crap I used to love playing both songs. They were well written, not too difficult to play as high school students, and they really made high school bands sound very much like, say .. The Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, and lets not forget, The Phantom Regiment and The Madison Scouts. ...Wow again.. very nice memories, from a time that will never come again.., or at least until I hit the play button once again, lol. - Thanks for posting. - Peace. \\//
My high school band played this powerful chart in my sophomore year (1983). I was grateful to play the solo...and I tried my best to sound like like the trumpet player on the recording... lol! it's probably one of my favorite charts of all time!!! Thanks for downloading these awesome songs...brings back a lot of great memories!!!!
