Wonderful use of metaphor and example Sarah! Yes, like climbing a mountain, getting to a halfway point, then asking, "now what?" Good job. Nice video. Love you took your dogs (or maybe they took you, ha ha).
Update: We’ve been in the San Ramon area ten days now! Definitely have had a few challenges with language and driving the Pan Am, but meeting the nicest, friendliest people who want to help. Plus, we have this gorgeous Mountain View of the Nicoya Peninsula! Thank you for your help with our move and continued support!
"Be Ok with not being Ok" Great advice! I thought you were on a sleigh at first lol. I came down here end of 2020 for 3 months...but forgot to go back 😀 Love the people here. I have found it very easy to make friends.
“Be ok, not being ok - Ride out the waves - Costa Rica won’t make the changes for you” The person you envision your self being, and who you truly are, can pale in comparison. At least that was my case, but that’s ok. I had to be reminded, to make any transformation, there will be sacrifice, there is also sweat equity involved, maybe even blood, sweat and tears. While examining ourselves in the figurative mirror, and we find ourselves in need of growth, fight to grow. In need of encouragement, fight to be encouraging, in need of love, fight to be loving and kind. Not only to those you know, but to those you don’t know. I’m not implying throw caution and common sense to the wind. But work on these aspects like your life depended on it, because the quality of our lives, do depend on our personal growth and gratitude, rather we be 8 years old or 98 years old. At least, that’s what this video triggered in me - Thank you, to you and your team for helping me move... P.S. The day you posted this, I closed on the sale of my home.
GM Sarah, great video Thanks. Yes I agree with taking everything as it comes our way and try to live in the MOMENT. Always will have obstacles that are different than what we were use to in USA but don't compare it . Locals don't like people complaining and comparing the USA or other places to This Country in CR. We have all Costa Rican friends and no expat friends except the people I keep contact with through RUclips. I found it easy to make friends where I live. I live in all costa Rican Beach Community and was exactly what we wanted. We are a part of our community and we are excepted into our community also ❤. We shop locally and walk through our community all the time getting to know our beautiful neighbors and neighborhoods. Humans are friendly here , more than I was use to in USA .I love it , I actually have a really close friend here now and she has myself and my family over to their home and food every weekend. She told me THEY are OUR FAMILY now and they invite us all the time to their family outings , holidays, etc etc. Now we actually have our Costa Rican Family, We are TRULY Blessed 🙌❤🙏 it's all in what someone wants with their lives here 🙏 like you said. 🙏
Great Advice , "being O.K. with not being O.K." . people were always saying "Tranquilo" to me . Slow down . in Hawaii they call it "hang loose" . it`s O.K. not being O.K. LOVE IT .
Thanks Sarah! I love so much your way to see things from a different prospect, still realistic! Great video hope I’ll get to meet you when we finished building our home there! We are so excited to have a place soon! Any advise for property management by any chance? Thanks lot! Nyree
Hello , I am glad you enjoyed my video. My recommendation would be to reach out through your new communities Facebook group and ask for recommendations from the other people who are buying in your community as well. As property management recommendations vary based on location. Best wishes!
I’m now in the process of packing up and selling. I have mixed emotions mostly good. I was dragging selling my house. The realtor asked what are you waiting for? RIGHT?
Hello, thank you for your question. The price will all depend on which beach town in Costa Rica you are considering as well as what kind of accommodations you are seeking - some people prefer a more "Northern American" standard which will cost you a lot more and others are okay with more localized living situations. February and March are considered "high season" i.e tourist season and sunny weather so prices for rentals during this time are typically more expensive.
Hola Sarah, I got your name from Ed/Costa Rica story. I'm in Uvita and looking for property. I'm thinking I should rent for 6mo. while looking. Ed said you helped him find his place. Looking forward to hearing from you. I have many questions about relocation. Gracias Denise
Hi Sarah, I spent my first week in Jaco taking care of getting settled in. Let me know if you want to meet up for lunch sometime? I appreciate your content sharing your experience with people interested in moving here.
Hello Sarah Elena - a bit off topic but we love all your videos and think you can help us! My wife is from Costa Rica and still has all of her family in San Jose. We have not been back to CR for about 8 years as we now have 7 year old twins and have just not been up to traveling with them. BUT, my wife is thinking of taking the twins to Jaco for the summer … 6 weeks or so. I would stay in the states and work. We chose Jaco because of the beach and it is close to San Jose so her family could come to see her once in a while. Problem is, her family says that Jaco is not a great environment for a ‘single’ woman and kids. Seems that you would know about that first-hand!! Any advice appreciated! Mike y Marialex.
Hello Michael , Myself and friends I have all live in Jaco as single women with kids. I can however see why there may be some concern as Jaco is known for it's nightlife. There is also a very nice family oriented side to Jaco though that doesn't get advertised as much! I think with any town you go to it depends on where you go & who you surround yourself with.
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife Thank you so much...I shared your thoughts with my wife and her family. I am pretty sure we will be spending a 4- weeks in Jaco this summer! Maybe we will run into you! We will likely contact you through www.lasarahelena.com to get your ideas on suitable housing for that time. Really appreciate your help.
Would love to and was planning on moving there by the end of the year, but unfortunately it is now a country with mandatory vax mandate and I pass.... soooo sad 😭
I think if you are looking to escape something or looking for a perfect life, stay in the USA, you will not be happy here. I meet so many gringos that are so out of place. Literally they just don’t get it. This is a exquisite country with incredible people. Do not, i repeat do not come here thinking that you will get a warm beautiful tropical USA. If you plan to move, respect is the main thing. Respect the culture, people and learn the language and don’t be a drunk idiot on the beach. If you are an idiot gringo here you will not make it. For gods sake pay the parking attendants a bit of money for watching your car. But do not tip anyone.

February and March?
For two months?

Well... That's definitely a deal breaker for me..💉☠️
I was there in January 2022. There is no vaccine required. And for the most part no masks either.
