I recorded part 2 (tracks 8-14) and I wasnt catching any bars so i'm not gonna upload it 😂 It's pointless if half the reaction is me trying to hear Ka coherently enough to then try to interpret what he's saying . My only critique of this album: it's hard to HEAR Ka! It sounds like his voice is intentionally mixed under the beat

It took a 3rd listen to get the majority of the album. The greatest themed album creator, the greatest poet of hip hop RIP
R.I.P. Brownsville KA 😢🙏 he passed away
My take on the album theme
Bible Reference:
I remember it being written that as Jesus was being crucified, there was another being put to death beside him. That man lived the life of a sinner and was being put to death for being a thief. During his last moments he repents in some form and Jesus stated that he would be welcomed to the kingdom of heaven.
Moral:
It’s never too late to change one’s path and seek forgiveness
Ka’s reference:
In the past Ka’s rapped about the street life. Violence, stealing and drugs. Perhaps this album is using that story as a analogy to explain he’s shifting his content to be more uplifting rather then feeding into some of the negative topics he mentioned on the first track
You missed out on the part where they were two theives beside Jesus and ka doesn't explicitly say which one it is on the title
Greatest conceptual/poetic/atmospheric/consistent/majestic/substance packed mc of ALL FKN TIME!!! 10 CLASSIC ALBUM RUN... not even counting Iron Works which is a great debut album for him.. but I do feel that he really came in to his own on Grief Pedigree.. since then he's dropped 10 straight Masterpiece albums with no skips.. iykyk
Kaseem Ryan is the 🐐
He has several bars referencing fire trucks. Thats because he's a firefighter in real life! BTW The smoke inhalation is a major reason for his low and raspy tone. And he feels that it actually gives character to his music!🔥🔥🔥🔥
He was a fire captain
Sometimes gotta read KA bars lol still catchin bars off descendants of Cain
A Martyr's Reward was my JOINT
@@Top5Troy Orpheus has immaculate lyricism as well
Facts!!!!
We back, was waiting on you, just watched my white bros reaction to this album next got tev and one other to go.
Ka produced it!
On the plaque reference: plaque on neurons = Alzheimer’s.
Shoutout Caretaker’s “everywhere at the end of time” which crate diggers & people who like deep concept albums might enjoy
yo great video and reaction I like the input u give on these tracks and catching things I didn't catch rest in peace to KA. But yo where did you get that animated led board in the background?
REST IN PEACE BROWNSVILLE KA 🕊 SHOUT OUT ROC MARCI FOR THE INTRODUCTION.
RIP my GOAT💔💔💔
I just heard today he passed, RIP. I found him because of your channel.
Found it and bought it lol
I really wanted a worthy listener to listen to this with, thanks
Ka did rap over a sample on "I Love", where the sample says "You" over and over
There were two thieves crucified next to Jesus
One repentant and the other non-repentant. Maybe his next album will be The Thief On The Other Side Of Jesus.
@@moussegarbonzo8352If only.. though thematically, this album may suggest that it's the repentant theif. Ka's final message to us and God.
@@Cyeoable Yeah, my comment was definitely tongue in cheek. After repeated obsessive spins of this album, I have to say that I believe he was writing from the views of both of these thieves. Very clever. Lots of inner conflict here as in all of his albums, but he really may have pulled off the most conflicted work of his career with this one. This album is heavy. He speaks of the weaponization of Christianity against the people as much as he does his own spirituality and obvious struggles with faith. The album ends on such an uncomfortable note too. Some of his closer tracks such as I Love, Having Nothing, Off The Record, etc leave the listener with a dose of hope and redemption. True Holy Water has such an uneasy feel to it. He could have ended the album with the song Beautiful to leave us with something more easily digestible, but he obviously chose the track order the way it is for a reason. Man was a genius. Dark way to say goodbye though. I hope his beautiful soul is getting the rest it so badly needed. RIP.
@@moussegarbonzo8352 Said it better than I ever could, the man was simply a genius and I don't think I'll ever stop listening to his work. Ka said himself "I rhyme for reason" there is surely a purpose to why he decided to end the album the way he did. But from what I gathered he knew his time was coming, and he left us with another masterpiece to digest for years to come. I'm sure as we revisit the album as life progresses we'll draw new meanings and messages from the man. RIP Ka 🙏
@@Cyeoable You ain’t lying. I’ve been listening to this man since Grief Pedigree and still find new meanings in his works that I’ve had playing regularly for years. Layers. Nobody wrote like this man. His lyricism is up there with the likes of Gil Scott-Heron, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, etc. And his skills on the mic are rarely discussed, but he had tons of style in his delivery. Pure soul. What a major loss.
Where can I find this? This is 🔥🔥🔥
on Ka's website.
A lot of people saying they cant catch the lyrics? First time thru i hardly got any, few times in getting most. Phenomenal album
I was waiting on this you catch things the flew by me 😂😂
I think he means when you’re on borrowed time, it’s sort of like time you shouldn’t or wouldn’t normally have. So, long story short he wants to live a longer than expected life
Brownsville Ka and Roc Marciano are two lyricist who I love but their music is so weird that its hard to recommend to people. Me personally i love this style of rapping and production but its definitely a mood you gotta be in
100% I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless I already knew they were into this type of music
Jesus is the Truth, love scriptural based lyrics
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is Mastery.
J20 need to make a FansReact to this!
Yo what’s that painting that changes in the back ?
The thief next to Jesus was Gestas according to the book of Nicodemus.
On the plaque reference: plaque on neurons = Alzheimer’s.
I think ka needs a better engineer to mix and master cos 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫Im sorry.
One of my favorite artists, but hermit and recluse was mixed and mastered perfectly
Religious Canon?
🔥🔥🔥 Don’t know if you’ve listened to Mickey Diamond yet but he just released a project it’s 5 o clock somewhere. Mickey in my top 3. He doesn’t miss.
“I hope it’s borrowed time when my time come” when my time come = when I die. To live on borrowed time = outlive your life expectancy.
Ka needs to recall this album and properly mix it
@@mpho1 I don’t disagree with this. This is possibly his best album to date, and it deserves to be properly mixed, mastered, balanced, and crystal clear.
recall is crazy lol but definitely send it to an engineer who will do it justice
i disagree, sometimes there is beauty in the imperfections. Ka's records are meant to sound "dirty"
@@BlazedxRican I hear you, no pun, but ive always had this complaint his bar are to immaculate to be so difficult to hear. If your bars are weak then sure mix them in let people interpret them how they find best but an elite lyricist like KA doesnt need that crutch, it sends the wrong message all around
You people want too much out of life. You think an artist who's so particular about his art would put out work that wasn't intentional. Just listen
Now we know he won't be able to recall. Now what?
Huge loss for hip hop
The true defintion of "mumble rap".
Right 😭🤦♂️
foh!
If it’s not for you, move on. But to call this mumble rap is just flat out nonsense.
😂 Seriously
Can't hold u, that was funny 😆 😄 🤣
You knew i was gonna be here ❤ 🫡🫡🫡 borrowed time ⏲️ as in when its his time to die it wont be yet he'll get more time.
