Just in case you don't know, oil paint can take like, 6 months to dry, so put those paintings somewhere safe! If you want to replicate a Bob Ross painting, but don't want to wait so long for the paint to dry, I would highly recommend looking into acrylic paints instead. They aren't as thick as oil, but they dry overnight and can be thinned with water or medium. They are much easier to clean up as well, and don't require a solvent. It was great watching the Grumps do some painting! I'm a painter myself, and this episode made me happy and cringe all in one! Love you guys.
I have a back log of power hours to watch, which I really appreciate - my dog passed away yesterday morning. Seventeen years old. I had to clean him after he soiled himself, went upstairs to get new towels, came back down, picked him up, and he was completely limp - just gone. These videos are one of the few things that can really put a smile on my face right now.
It’s crazy cuz they’re totally messing around but their paintings still turned out pretty cute. I think Bob Ross is just such a good teacher that he can’t give a bad tutorial cuz from all the people I’ve seen trying to follow his work, they always turned out kinda nice 😂
I always imagine Bob Ross erases the one prior and that the original has been erased since Episode 1. Each episode number is basically just letting you know how many Bob Ross have been erased. Edited it thanks to popular demand/almost getting a seizure reading my own stuff lol
The best advice Bob Ross always gives is to have fun, make it your own and do whatever the crap you want with it. Both came out well. Nicely done guys.
Matt Lambert It's been so long since I've watch Bob Ross. I don't remember that part, though it does explain why his colors spread so easily/smoothly with the paint itself being so thick. All these years and he's still taking me to school...
I'd love to see them painting more often, but with proper equipment. I know that the Power Hour is a format that's for silly stuff, but they really seemd to enjoy themselves. I like it when the boys are happy :D
Yeah, liquid clear (linseed oil) or liquid white (linseed oil + titanium white paint) are pretty much required for any Bob Ross painting techniques to work. It's ok though, they did their best with what they had!
"Can you imagine trying to do one of these from PBS and having no pause button..." (or something like that.) - EXACTLY! I did try setting up a canvas and the paints in advance. Then, ran a Bob Ross video from RUclips. I was rewinding and pausing so blasted much that I couldn't imagine anyone ever keeping up with him. 30 minutes, my tail! Try 2 hours and hoping it looked even remotely close. He's extremely talented and highly entertaining to watch. But, dang...I am hard pressed to try even doing another one of those professional trials. Rest in peace, Bob Ross. You gave the world such a great talent to be remembered by in nearly countless TV presentations. May they forever be preserved in RUclips. Arin perfectly represents how everyone feels when trying to paint with Bob Ross
They forgot to cover the canvas in a thin coat of magic white.

It’s easy to forget how amazing arin is as an artist when watching this video

Just in case you don't know, oil paint can take like, 6 months to dry, so put those paintings somewhere safe! If you want to replicate a Bob Ross painting, but don't want to wait so long for the paint to dry, I would highly recommend looking into acrylic paints instead. They aren't as thick as oil, but they dry overnight and can be thinned with water or medium. They are much easier to clean up as well, and don't require a solvent.
It was great watching the Grumps do some painting! I'm a painter myself, and this episode made me happy and cringe all in one! Love you guys.
I can imagine Bob being very happy about all these RUclipsrs following his tutorials.
Before the oil spill, Arin's painting was actually looking pretty good.
Hes an artist
Exxon-ly (wait ...)

Good game moment.

To be honest, I think their paintings are fairly decent for beginners
arin is an artist so
Arin has been animating for years now. Idk if I’d call him a beginner.
"10 meters away good looking" according to car buffs, but in my eyes there beautiful lol

Ever look at ANY art up close? It's usually mind-bogglingly "bad" compared to what it looks like from a normal viewing distance.
I hope you have (in a way) gotten over it
I hope you're doing okay man
Sorry for your loss
Hey it's 5 years late, but I hope you're doing better
It’s crazy cuz they’re totally messing around but their paintings still turned out pretty cute. I think Bob Ross is just such a good teacher that he can’t give a bad tutorial cuz from all the people I’ve seen trying to follow his work, they always turned out kinda nice 😂

Arin feigning sadness for Dan to give him affection

I always imagine Bob Ross erases the one prior and that the original has been erased since Episode 1. Each episode number is basically just letting you know how many Bob Ross have been erased.

Happy little accidents! It still looks beautiful!
13:27 It would have been amazing if, when he lifted the painting up, they photoshopped the Bob Ross painting onto Arin's canvas!
Genius!
But that would only dilute the beauty of what was truly created: ART
“It’s like that Atari Pac-Man that nobody bought and everybody returned”
How can they return a game they never bought, Arin?
I'd love to see them painting more often, but with proper equipment. I know that the Power Hour is a format that's for silly stuff, but they really seemd to enjoy themselves. I like it when the boys are happy :D
Mr. Ross would've been very happy that two friends made a video that would make a lot of people different. He may have even chuckle if he watch it.

The man could wave a brush and produce a Thomas Kinkade mall gallery shop inside of a day.
You two where putting your work down, but to be honest. I'm a pretty decent artist now, and when I tried painting for the first time I didn't do anything half as good as that.
That's actually pretty kick ass for a first try.
Good job guys! : D
well arin is an artist
Especially considering the tools they had. Those brushes were way too small to be able to effectively follow a Bob Ross tutorial.
Bob Ross is an excellent instructor
I concentrated in painting for my BFA, and I think, for guys with no experience in oil painting, you boys did a good job. Bob Ross would very likely agree to that as well, and be very proud of you
Playing Stardew Valley and watching this is the most calming thing
Coming back from a mediation/hike and watching this is pretty nice, too.

Check out a game called My time at Portia on steam. It is fucking awesome. This is from someone who has put in 120 hours of Stardew Valley. I love both those games.
