    This Channel evolves on different things. I just wanted to become a nurse vlogger.
    Start small and work my way through it. Most of the videos I uploaded are about helping others become a Registered Nurse here in the UK.
    How to live and work abroad, literally just showing my everyday life and struggles as a nurse.
    Living abroad means I have to leave my family back home.
    This is one way of updating them and showing them my day to day life. As said earlier, I am new to making content, that is why I post atleast once a week.
    Life is a bit busy and I am a full time nurse but I will try my best to upload more videos as often as I can. Rest assured these videos will be fun and enjoyable. And hopefully you'll join me on these journey.
    See you on the next vid!

    Hi Nurse Niezl, the safety mechanism at 16:52 of this video is what you refer to as re-sheathing right? that is what we shouldn't do, we should dispose the syringe and needle without recapping? Just asking for clarification purpose

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  10 месяцев назад +2

      That is true.we don't re-sheat anymore. With subcutaneous injection, prepare the medication near ng patient side so you can give injection right away without resheathing the needle.

    Hello Nurse Niezl, the difference between SQ and IM with regards to skin tauting is that, in SQ we release the skin tauting prior to depressing the plunger while in IM we only release it after it has been fully administered, is that right? Please confirm and correct it 🙏.

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Год назад +3

      IM (Skin taut or stretch): until the injection is given.
      SC (Skin pinch): until the needle is inserted, release the pinch before depressing the plunger.
      Hope this clears it.

      @nurseniezl  7 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you for you comment.
      Regarding the time management, if I wanted it to be on time, then I won't be able to explain the whys and hows of the skill I am demonstrating.
      I have to allow more time for me to discuss what I am doing.
      You on the otherhand, needs to do it on time if you want to pass the OSCE exam.☺️

      I have failed on this subcutaneous injection station because of resheathing after injection withdrawal.

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  10 месяцев назад

      @aniejames4299 so sorry to hear the results.
      We are actually questioning that because some of the candidates are also saying that they have failed for the same reason.
      I have checked the Royal Marsden and it is not there anymore.
      The practice have been like that and until a month ago, it changed suddenly.
      I hope you get to pass on your retake.

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  10 месяцев назад +1

      I hope I can still update you.
      There have been a changed when it comes to re sheating the needle.
      Do not re-sheat!!!!!
      Also, prepare the medication near the patient.
      That's the new update.
      Hope it's not too late here.

    Arent you suppose to ask the last meal time and blood glucose level

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  5 месяцев назад +3

      It is there.
      04:27 I have mentioned it here as I was doing pre checks with the patient.
      06:53 As shown in the prescription, the Blood glucose level was mentioned in the scenario.
      The best skill I can advise you to pass the OSCE is to read the scenario carefully.
      Now, for the last meal time, this is the current marking criteria. When I did this video, this was the prev marking criteria.
      Hope this helps.
      PS. Please DO NOT RECAP YOUR NEEDLE.
      NEW VIDEO REGARDING SUBCUTANEOUS INJECTION WILL BE RELEASED NEXT WEEK.
      🥰
