- These lure types are by far some of the best I've used to catch fish with in saltwater. Learn how to retrieve each one to get the great results. I fish mostly inshore all over the Florida area, but these artificial baits can be used anywhere.
The three classifications of lures I review are:
A. Soft plastics
B. Hard plastics
C. Lead or tungsten

I got a few of those fluke baits and I finally was able to fish them today and I caught my first snook ever, thank you dude you have no idea how happy it got me, I was jumping up and down for like 15 mins.
JC your channel just keeps getting better! Love your enthusiasm !
This is all very practical advise you could apply to a wide range of fishing. Great job man
Yes this was the vid I was looking for tytytyty for your help jc yaaa
Great video and recommendations , just ordered the Yozuri lure. Gonna test it on trip to Florida Keys next week!
Well done, JC!
thank you so much for that amazing video!
Great info JC. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your tips. Headed your way in 2 days....can't wait to get out in the kayak
really loving these kinda videos, hope you continue to make more!
Excellent video JC... continued success with your fishing and You tube channel 🎣🎣💪🏼💪🏼
Great video !! Thanks for the tips
Love it JC. Thanks for sharing dude!
Great video JC
Thanks 😊 for the education! 😎😎😎😎
Doctor JC fish lol. Good stuff. Still learning- the secret to life n fishing. Keep up the good work
Do the JC Twitch! Thanks for the info. Will put the ideas to work. 71 and still learning.
I need to try one of those flair hawk style snook jigs. I’ve seen those around a lot lately.
Great stuff buddy. The only one I'd add is spoons.
Thanks for watching. I was going to at the weedless and sprite Johnson Spoons and left them out because I don't fish with them often enough to give too many tips. I've caught some Redfish on the weedless spoon. I hear they are great for Redfish. I also see people using the silver spoons for Spanish Mackerel when they are running. I have several of the silver spoons, but just don't fish them much. Thanks for commenting.
@@RadReelingFishing ohh I always watch!!! We're in the same area so I can apply everything you say to my own fishing. And I agree with this entire video👍. Hey also JC try the redfish magic it's called. Basically a spinner bait for red fish. I crushed one a few days ago on it. Super cheap at walmart too. Like $3 I think. Thanks for all you do buddy. We appreciate ya.
Ya know now that I think about it I really think bass spinnerbaits would work great for reds. I'm gonna test that theory this evening 🤟
million dollars experience!
I’m going to Fort Walton FL soon! It’ll be the first time I fish artificials in salt water. Thank you for your video, I’ll be using these tips/lures on the trip 😎
Jacks love soft plastics
Hi JC. What area of Florida do you fish? My dad and I are headed to the Melborne area, from Maine, in a week and a half. Strictly a fishing trip. Getting things together now so this video was good timing. We are both longtime subscribers. Thank you.
Thanks for watching. I don't reveal locations on this channel 99% of the time. Have a great trip.
@@RadReelingFishing I would never ask a fisherman for specifics. Lol. I went back to the floating grill video and heard you say Southwest Florida. I'm pretty sure it's all the same until you get off shore.
What about flounder ?
Not something I target or catch often.
I live in the northeast on the long island sound. What fish that he talks about in the south relates to a fish in the north like bluefish or striped bass?
We catch Bluefish here on any of these lures. Snook are similar to your Stripped Bass from what I've heard. These lures work anywhere in saltwater.
@Rad Reeling Fishing thanks so much this helped a lot, there is not many channels that talk about fishing up here with artificials so knowing which ones to use from these vids is very helpful thanks so much man
So how do you know which DOA shrimp color to pick?
Trial and error. I just suggest starting with the glitter shrimp.
Do you use any weight with the cranka crab and if so how do you rig up? Thanks
It weighs 3/8 of an ounce. I don't add weight. Here's a video I did with rigging and tips for fishing the Cranka Crab: ruclips.net/video/AvQP53ERuAE/видео.html
@@RadReelingFishing this is why you’re one of my favorite channels. Thank you!!
@@bobk.1428 Thanks for letting me know. I try to answer the majority of questions that come through.
Thousandth like
i live in a bay where fish reproduce, and i can tell ya, you could throw a jesus to that sea and he wouldnt catch a single fish on the artificial lure haha
Thanks for not being that guy, it works so good but they can't show you how they use it...
I think lure presentation is always something that has to be discovered while fishing. Some days the fish will be interested when a lure is moving slow other days when it's being worked with a jerk motion. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks, from Bristol Tennessee !
i love honest youtubers !!!
I wasn't even aware of the crab lure for sheepshead. I want to make my own now. I subscribed! 😎👍
Just watched your how to video and thought it was very well done. Lots of good info. What is your favorite combo for pompano . Between jig and teaser
I rig different ways depending upon the bite. If they aren't hitting what I'm presenting I change the way I rig, color and teasers as well. Here's a video on rigging different ways. ruclips.net/video/0h_gxMJb_ho/видео.html
Will be at John's pass in June to give pompano fishing a try. Hope to see you there. Keep making those informative videos.
Thanks for this great video!! I fish mainly freshwater but am going to St Pete, FL to try some saltwater fishing in the bay off the docks and banks! I think some of my freshwater lures will work as they are similar to the lures you show here on the video. I have one old vintage Penn rod that is for saltwater fishing!! Thanks again for your excellent informative video!!
Went to the bay in St Pete this evening and did some saltwater fishing for the first time!! I used some of my freshwater lures and they seemed to get some nibbles on them besides some of my saltwater lures!! I also used real chicken hearts (as I use to catch Catfish in freshwater) and the fish in the bay seemed to like them as well. Didn't hook any fish but had alot of nice nibbles on some of my lures and chicken heart. LOL A first time learning experience....just to get my feet wet. Will go back and try again but this time during the week. Saturdays are way to busy....everyone was fishing on the piers!!! :)
Love those Yozuris, I was using that exact model and color yesterday and caught a nice Bluefish on my third cast.
Another great vid brother. Appreciate you!!!
👋 ❤️ love your videos JC
Going in Cuba in one month. Surprised that got-cha pencil lure is not on your list.
Hey buddy. Hope you've had a great day. I'll be out there tomorrow. Thanks JC. See you next time.
Does any of this transfer to Hawaii? We have totally different fish here. I don’t know where to go to learn these things.
Sure, a fish is a fish and there are some BIG fish in Hawaii! If I were you I'd check with the local tackle shop to see what's biting and what lure are best. This video explains your options pretty good though.
Its not a surprize that soft plastics are the best for saltwater. I caught snook, jack, flounder, and lady fish. I have yet to catch the other fish as well. Crankbaits are good too but the plastics are the best in my opinion. The crankbaits have a tendency to get snagged. I fish the halifax river alot and there are many saltwater fish in the halifax
whats the name of the yellow and white paddle tail at the start
i'm not sure, it's been a long time since I made this video. Did you find it?
Great video, I've been watching for a while and the more I watch your videos the more I appreciate your style (explanation)
great information, thank you, would like to get some crank a crabs but they are and have been sold out for a long time and come from the other side of the planet just about.
Love your videos and how you use the walmart rods and reels.
There is no such thing as best lures they all work diffrently in diffrent conditions
Just waiting for that high note or a scream/screech of pain when the hook stabs him in the hand or the finger.
Nice and informative JC as always thanks
Mirrolure 17MR Mirrodine will catch anything! Going to have to try the Yo-Zuri 3DS Minnow
I really like the clear eyes series in the Mirrodine, mullet and pinfish. Thanks for watching.
I fish at the same places you go and all I get is snapper
Used some Yo Zuri the other night and hauled them in.
I appreciate you more than you know sir
thank you jc, you are the man !!
Lol the cat said you did a good job 😂
The cat wanted camera time...
Great! Very Helpful!
This might be a really stupid question, but do you add a sinker on lure setups?
Not usually, but you can if you'd like too.
Thanks JC. Hey I know you are a guitar player do ya have a cd for sale? Loved the lesson.
