    The reason American products taste different in Europe is because the sheer quantities of sugar and chemical additives found in the originals aren't allowed in most of Europe. That's why those brands make altered versions of their products for sale over here.

    • @BMausfamm
      @BMausfamm 10 months ago +4

      Yes, true. And loads of products are adapted to national preferences, e. g. colour of fish fingers. But the company is still the same and gets the earnings, ergo not relevant, if the product is adapted. And don't get me started on chlorinated chicken or hormone infested beef, of course we dont't want that! European consumer protection.
      So if Europeans do not want to support American companies while this dangerous bullshit is going on, do it. It is not like we could have votted differently or can next time at the mid-terms... From over here it is astounding how a majority could have believed this criminal, lying egomaniac. But we all have to suffer from it - world economy and world peace and all.
      @GIOBOZZ, good that you expose yourself to things from Europe. Still a long way to have a small understanding of what is going on outside of the US... Maybe ask your Canadians friends if they think the world should revolve around the US... 🔥😉

      The main reason is that a company always adjusts to the taste of the market it is in.
      I like e.g. Dr Pepper coke in Europe way more than in the US. They do not only taste differently, they also have half the calories...

      @gabste nicht ganz richtig, sie ist ab sechs Jahren Freigegeben (Mediathek) und wird im Fernsehen aufgrund der programmlichen Selbstverpflichtungen erst ab 22:00 ausgestrahlt.
      Der Unterschied ist:
      Lineares Fernsehen erreicht auch passiv mitsehende Kinder (z. B. in Familien), daher wird hier vorsichtiger programmiert.
      Mediathek-Nutzung gilt als bewusster, zielgerichteter Zugriff durch den Zuschauer - und wird deshalb als weniger risikobehaftet bewertet.

    • @wesprog9809
      @wesprog9809 10 months ago +20

      @Rockinson187 "Ich bin stolz auf dich" ist in diesem Beispiel aber eine Redewendung und ist nicht wortwörtlich gemeint. Es ist hier ja eindeutig nicht damit gemeint, dass jemand wirklich die Art von Stolz empfindet, die zB beim Erreichen von eigenen Zielen gemeint ist. Man kann übrigens auf alles Stolz sein was man möchte auch ohne eigene Leistung. Es gibt genug Leute die tatsächlich stolz auf etwas sind, dass sie selbst gar nicht erreicht haben teilweise sogar nicht man beeinflusst haben in irgendeiner Art und Weise. Man kann natürlich sagen der Stolz ist nicht angemessen,, aber empfunden wird er trotzdem. Also ist es möglich und genug dumme Leute beweisen es immer wieder, wie sie auf lächerliche Dinge tatsächlich stolz sind ohne Einfluss auf diese Tatsache gehabt zu haben wie zB der Klassiker, stolz auf die eigene Staatsangehörigkeit zu sein

    there is a german saying:" Wer austeilt, muss auch einstecken können." That means roughly: who makes fun of others or criticises others, must endure if someone does the same with them.

    • @CraftMotion
      @CraftMotion 10 months ago +9

      But there are also differences between EU states. I recently was in Germany and the food from the supermarket just didn't taste as qualitativley as here in Austria were, as far as I know, we have even more strict rules for quality control of food. More strict than Germany, yes, that's a thing.😂

    • @DrNIx123
      @DrNIx123 10 months ago +9

      @CraftMotion That is true, Austria and France have much higher standards. I think this is not so much due to laws about ingredients but simply because food quality is even more important to Austrians and to French customers.
      Example: Cheeses you can buy in Austrian standard supermarkets are often sold in gourmet shops here in Germany.

      No, seriously, no one has ever gone to jail for a post online. Yes, you can't post EVERYTHING (like endorsing violence against someone etc), but if, IF, you even get in trouble for it, jail isn't an option unless MAYBE you're on probation right now for the crimes you've committed before.

    Tesla is not uncommon. Ford is very common in Europe. But Ford of Europe is basically a European car company with HQ in Cologne, Germany. Developing specific models for Europe with their own Engineers and Reasearch and making them in European factories. Just happens that their parent company is US Ford. And this is how they are successful still. Making cars developed in Europe, made in Europe for Europe.
    Or in other words: You will see a lot of Ford Kugas, Focus, Transits etc. but not a lot of F150 or Explorers.

    • @OLidartz
      @OLidartz 10 months ago +27

      This, the reason why export numbers are so low is because Teslas are mostly second hand and Fords are basicly European with the Ford logo. but even then I have recently seen more and more Toyotas and Hiundais than any other Brand.

      And now take a look at Spartanburg, USA. BMW already builds all their SUVs there and thats what the US citizens mostly buy. Same with Mercedes-Benz Tuscaloosa. So they already do what Trump want them to do, he just dosn´t seem to know it.

    • @fpv_austronaut
      @fpv_austronaut 10 months ago +26

      Good reason because nobody in europe will ever buy a full american car as daily driver. They are not practical for european steets and traffic situations. Just take a short drive on the German autobahn with someone who lives in the USA. They all get their hands wet when we Europeans shift into 4th gear and big eyes because there are 2 more gears left ...

    the problem with american cars and the european market comes down to basically 2 things: american cars are often to big for european cities and they are also huge gas guzzlers and gasoline is a lot more expensive in the EU than in the US. the european market needs smaller and "thrifty" cars and in most cases the US just simply does not produce those

      🤔Amerikanische Autos sind wie gesagt wirklich "Schlecht" - China übernehmen Sie!
      Wer sich einen deutschen TÜV Bericht ansieht, weis dass Teslas oft den ersten TÜV nach 3 Jahren nicht beim ersten Mal bestehen. Qualitativ sind diese Autos minderwertig und so zu teuer. (Mieser Service, horrende Reparaturkosten)
      Ein Tesla ist eine teure klapprige wacklige fette Bedienkatastrophe mit der Leute (über 50) wenig anfangen können "Furzkissen" inbegriffen! Im Werk Grünheide bei Berlin hat Tesla einen alten Fughafen gemietet, wo täglich hunderte Autos, weil sie nicht verkauft werden können, abstellt werden.
      Seit Elon Musk den "Hitler"-Gruß zeigte, sind Teslas in der Gesellschaft "unten durch" - Fuck YOU!
      Ford war einmal eine geliebte Marke - Mein erstes Auto war ein kleiner Ford!
      Jedoch hat man sehr beliebte europäische Modelle wie Kleinwagen Fiesta und Focus und den Mondeo eingestellt.
      Nur noch fette SUV mittlere SUV kleine SUV - wer braucht die langweiligen übergewichtigen OPA -Autos????
      In meiner Heimat im Bundesland Saarland wurde eine Ford -Fabrik geschlossen!
      5000 Mitarbeiter + Familien wurden allein gelassen, und der Verkauf des Werkes wurde auch noch Torpediert.
      Die Regierung rollte den roten Teppich an Fördermitteln für Ford aus, aber sie bekamen den Hals nicht voll.
      Niemand würde nach diesem bodenlosen Verrat noch einen Ford kaufen - selber Schuld!
      Ford bringt E-Modelle (z.B. Mustang Mach E und anderen Mist) auf den Markt die keiner haben will.
      Verkauft E-Autos auf Volkswagenplattformen als eigene Autos - was soll das ??
      🤮Ford und Tesla braucht hier kein Mensch mehr!

      We don't have freedom of speech in Germany, otherwise people's home wouldn't get raided by police just for (re)posting things on the internet. And this show comes from the public broadcast in Germany, that everybody has to pay for after already paying taxes. If you refuse for whatever reason, you're going to jail. This is not freedom in any way.

    There are a few jokes you couldn't get because they were not translated:
    "Totaler Zollpfosten" is a wordplay on "Totaler Vollpfosten" which calls out someone as "unlimited dunce" by making a wordplay with the word "Zoll" which means Tariff or Customs and "Pfosten" which means stake or pole.
    "Kabinett mit erhöhtem Förderbedarf" means Ministries with increased valorization/facilitation/sponsorship, but can also be translated as Ministries which require "special" training/education and help on learning.
    "Sauer auf Kraut" can be translated to Sour on Krauts. That one should not need any elaboration.
    "Die Dümmsten Autobauer haben die Dicksten Karossen" is a wordplay on "Die Dümmsten Bauern haben die größten Kartoffeln."
    "Wörterboarding" is a wordplay on "Waterboarding"
    Then about the picture, the subtitle was incorrect. Instead of "Centerpiece" the phrasing was "Zentner Mett mit Haaren" which translates to "[Pound of raw hacked pork meat mixed with onions](Mett) with hair."

      @Freiya2011 We aren't that different after all, and besides, we economicaly, militarily and politicaly heavily rely on each other.
      The USA are indeed a Union, perhaps a Federation of American States - no Country. They sometimes have shared origins and diverse culture, different tongues and languages - just like the people that constructed them. Our 27 Nations seem more united than your 51 States, not uniform, but working together and even beyond.
      Die EU gibt uns Hoffnung auf eine bessere Zukunft. Freiheit, Einigkeit, etwas das die USA schon lange nicht mehr zu besitzen scheinen. Vielleicht verstehn wir uns nicht immer, aber wir wissen was der andere meint. Und die allermeisten von uns kommen gut miteinander aus.

    Yes, there are a lot of Fords in Europe, but that is because Ford has always produced cars in Europe. The first Ford factory opened in Germany in 1925! Ford even founded a company in Germany, the Ford Motor Company Corporation in Berlin (a German shareholder company). Ford currently has two plants in Germany that produce only for the EU market. However, Ford will close one of them at the end of 2025 because Ford itself wants to do so. And GM is only not being sold in Europe because GM itself had discontinued its EU business. No one has ever forbidden GM to sell cars in the EU.

      @giobozzde It's often different models too, designed for the european market and made to european standards. A common Ford here is noticeable different from an american one, not only in quality, but even design.
      With Tesla it's the same models, but also not built in the US (Germany and China), because the European (and even chinese market) didn't want to buy the (way worse) US quality. 😅
      But overall: YES! Of course we do buy US cars, just not that many. Simply because they don't buy what we want. There's the quality, sure, but there's also just the simple fact that our gasoline is more expensive, that our roads are narrower (so gigantic cars aren't practical) etc. We love a good...(damn, what's the english word for that...xD You know, eh, station wagon?) station wagon, for example.

      @giobozzde Ford was a very good friend of Hitler too. That's something we in the US don't like to know. "Adolf Hitler displayed a portrait of Henry Ford in his office, reflecting his admiration for Ford's industrial achievements and antisemitic views." "He praised Ford in Mein Kampf (1925) and in a 1931 interview called him an "inspiration," linking it to Ford's book The International Jew."
      I learned of this first from Rachel Maddow, MSNBC.

      That's bs. It's not "one orange man", Srump didn't just POOF one day in the office, he didn't wash over the US like a natural catastrophe, he was elected by the second biggest voter group of the country, whilst the biggest didn't care at all to stop him and only the smallest group voted against him.
      So, over 2/3 of the US people were AT LEAST fully fine with him becoming president AGAIN.
      There's also his whole cabinet, the whole party (and they only have two) and tenth of millions of people in the US that act like him, that love him, that love what he does.
      What the one orange man did was fully uncover the true nature of the US society and justice system and it won't go away with him.

    1:07 "Totaler Zollpfosten" is a great pun.
    Vollpfosten means complete idiot and Zoll means toll, so they're calling Trump a total and complete toll idiot. 😂

    The by far best satire show on German public television is "Die Anstalt"! You have to watch it! But be warned: Die Anstalt is deep, including investigative journalism. In contrast, Extra3 and the Heute Show are just superficially funny.

    The ingrediants in US made products is often made differently for other countries as they have many more bans on certain ingrediants then the US does. So even though they may taste different, they are still made in the US.

      @ACWhoCares2 But we reacted and our Verfassungsschutz has categorised them as definitely right wing extremistic. We are actively doing stuff to try and hopefully prevent this things from happening here again. We're obviously not perfect, but who is?

      @lethfuil... while the Trump government / Mr. Musk explicitly recommended(!!) this very neonazi political party, AfD, only a few days before the recent parliament elections in Germany!.😮😮

      @Casuallysami1 Aber das ist ja der Punkt. Wir ignorieren es nicht, wir machen aktiv was dagegen.

    American cars are europeanized, otherwise they wouldnt sell at all. Ford of Europe for example is pretty much a whole different brand than the US american one.

    14:50 Thing is, while Ford is a American Brand, Ford Europe is a entirely different thing compared to the Ford USA. They develop and build cars specifically for the European Market while more US focused models like any Pick Up or the Mustang always where, and still are, incredibly rare over here. For all intents and purposes Ford Europe is a European manufacturer similar to how Opel operated under GM Leadership. They can more or less do their own thing, but at the end of the day have to answer to their US Parents. As for Tesla, while they are (or at least where until recently) indeed very popular and successful here, it is mostly really limited to the Model 3. Traditionally the vast majority of vehicles bought in Europe are from Europe and Japan, even Korean Brands really only found some popularity in the last decade or two.
