As a western Wisconsin hunter it’s refreshing to see a story like this. It’s also amazing that you referenced Da Thirty Point Buck; it’s a sacred song that’s listened to before deer opener every year. I remember listening to it on the radio on the school bus the Friday before opening day.
I’ve watched your videos for years and this is the most touching so far. Having so many generations of family that share the same love of hunting and for each other is so comforting.
There is a unique and incredible person in you Billy. Your talents, your family, your ethics, your beliefs are an inspiration. Your videos tell a wonderful story. Your family the greatest story of all. Thank you and your family.
Thank you for sharing the generations of your life, and how God brought you right back to where it all began so inspiring if more people were like this the world would be a better place. You’re a wonderful husband and a wonderful dad and wonderful son and friend. Happy holidays to the Molls family. ✝️☃️❄️
My Deer hunting days with my father, brother and all my Uncles and cousins went to deer camp in the Uinta mountains in Utah for Mule deer ! So many great times with my family !! My first buck was a 4X4 29 inch spread ! I was 16 years old and he was the biggest buck taken in camp that year out of 18 hunters !!! He is mounted on my wall next to my 5X7 31 inch buck that is bladed front !!! I sure miss those days !!! Now I am 60 and my dad and all my uncles have past away ! Great memories ! Love your videos Billy ! Keep it up !!! Every hunt we had we always said a prayer 🙏🏿 for safety for success for all Families !!!!
This was such a beautiful episode. I loved hearing your story. Sharing about your grandfather and even your dad was really special. Congratulations Charlie on your very first deer. You did amazing
Hey Billy I've watched your videos for years. I'm from Bethel Alaska myself and have grown up hunting all my life. I also personally know the aforementioned Isaac Bedingdfield in your other videos. I just wanted say that this is an absolutely stunning and beautiful film.
Something special about the nine day gun hunting season here in WI. My grandad and dad are both gone so my brother and I are reviving our old tradition of party hunting together. It is only five of us now but I haven’t been this excited for a hunt in years. Such a timely video. Thanks Billy.
Watching this video has me so nostalgic. I miss hunting with my dad. Many years up in northern Michigan at deer camp. I’ve lost my dad 3 years now and this video made my old self tear ups little. God Bless Billy
9 day in Wisconsin is an amazing experience. Definitely a holiday growing up. Born and raised in Barnes Wisconsin but live in North Dakota now. Still love to go back for deer camp these days with the wife and kids. Many things have changed as people grew up or passed on but the experience is always the same at the deer shack. Awesome video.
I always enjoy your shows! I have been remembering the first hunt I was on with my Grandpa in Wyoming. In a few days I will be taking my Grandson on his first hunt here in Montana. The connections built in the out doors and lessons learned seem to transcend many others! God Bless you all.
My grand dad wasn't a deer hunter, but enjoyed his quail hunting. I was honored to go with him a few times before his health kept him home. He also was quite the fisherman. I can remember going with him to the lake, standing right next to him with the exact same jigs on my line, and watching him catch fish after fish while I came up empty! Dang, I miss him...
God has a different plane for us all. My life has been similiar to yours. I feel at home in the woods by myself. You are a great son of God and brother!!! Whenever your travels bring you to middle Georgia i would enjoy meeting you.
Hands down my favorite RUclipsr don’t watch often can’t find the time usually even checked out the merch and am still considering buying a hat or something Idahoan 16.
I'm a southern Confederate rebel from Tennessee and don't usually like Yankees but Billy Molls you're a cool dude. I'd love to meet you sometime. I've learned a lot from your videos. God bless you my brother
Synonym; “Confederate Rebel”, See; LOSER, Racist. 😂 🤡 Pathetic to be proud of a brutal war fought over enslaving a race of people, needlessly killing almost three quarters of a million men. To be proud of the LOSING SIDE at that. 😂 You’re an idiot. And definitely not Christian. God didn’t want humans to be treated like those slaves were, in that century. The real Confederate flag is the White Flag of Surrender. Losers. FOH
@wioutdoorsman5547 well I don't know how well read you are on the civil war but we finally arrived at what is known as the great compromise which is when the South said it's probably best that the union not be divided and the north said that the South fought bravely for a cause in which it believed and we can live with that and that works for us
Quintin, you could find plenty of people you’d like in Oregon. Believe it or not. Southern, central, and eastern Oregon are full of good people who are passionate about the “good things” and the “right way” to live.
When I get out in the woods hunting I always feel relaxed and peaceful like I’m where I’m supposed to be doing what I’m supposed to. Hunting and being in nature is, I don’t know instinctual for lack of a better term. It’s like part of my being just woke up and I get really focused but completely relaxed and all the stress is gone. It’s so much more than going out and shooting an animal. That tiny part of it doesn’t even matter for me.
Really awesome video and welcome home. My 8 yo daughter wants to deer hunt with me this year and looking forward to it, definitly good learning to make sure I get her some easy over the head hearing protection. Those blinds really make the sound echo. .243 suppressed might be a good entry option.
“Da Turdy Point Buck” Is QUITE popular here in North Central/Northern Minnesota Billy!! Our local radio station plays it on Rifle opener eve/weekend. I remember shooting my first deer on a BRISK -16f November morning. My finger had frostbite from the ice cold steel receiver on the Marlin 30-30 I was shooting. I’ll Never forget it.
Its 21st of November . ? What rifle did your grand father deer hunt with i am 65 i have my grandfathers 303 savage . Still have a box or to of silver tips ammo . After seeing your vid here ill be useing it this yr .just to sit think and hold on to something from years that have gone by . From south east wisconsin you all have a safe and enjoy the hunt . Rember the ones that .took the time to take us and teach us .
Billy, as a lifetime hunter, father, and now a grandfather of four young girls, who has watched every video you've put out on RUclips, at least a dozen times, this one is the only one that disappointed me with you. You should never, ever expose your child's ears to the sound of a gunshot. Doing so will cause permanent impairment to their hearing as well as yours, as you weren't wearing any ear protection either! Shame on you! When I started hunting and shot my first deer 66 years ago, I had never heard of a muzzle break and didn't even know about one for the next oncoming 12-15 years, beforehand. I got one made for a .338 Winchester Magnum I purchased after trying to sight it in wearing an old Mae West life jacket to absorb the recoil. I traded one bad issue for another. I was beneath a Lava rock cliff when I shot an Antelope out in the Southern Idaho desert and lost my hearing for many months from the high volume of sound emitting from the echo of sound that ruptured my right ear drum and have been deaf in my right ear ever since.
Remember the days across the northern states, when deer season rolled around and there was frost on the fields, every deer hunter wore their Woolwich plaid hunting jacket. And in New York we were required to wear our hunting license exposed on our backs. This was before bright red clothing and flouresent reds, and yellows. And before muzzle loading rifles and bow hunting became so popular. Had to use only a shotgun with single ball or slugs - shot many deer with 'em. too.

I am a Christian former hunter from Wisconsin. Thank you for showing a bit of what it's like for us when it's deer season!

@@Quintin-eu9igno, you lost. It’s weird you’re still invested in the south winning

Perfect timing opening day in Michigan. Started watching tonight will finish tomorrow in the blind.
Good Evening Billy! Thanks and God Bless 🙏🏼
Gotta say,
Bill Molls' daughters up early and working in camp.
Meanwhile some of the hunters can barely make it to breakfast.
Well done!!
I hope someday I get to hunt with you Billy. God Bless

Moose Junction had a lot of deer until the wolves and some bad weather came along. I've hunted Little McGraw for 57 years.
I hunt just to the east of you....near the junction of the St. Croix trail, and the Namakagon trail.
Just cool Bill

You know what amazes me more than anything? A guy from California that likes to hunt and believes in God too!!! 😂

Goph-er
SOUTHERN CONFEDERATE REBEL…
Not sure what that means these days???
Tight pants, baseball cap, unshaven bartender, with a 2 door dodge pickup?
Nice , just not into the religious side . Great story's non the less .
Saddens me to see a man of your calibre reduced to hunting childish white tails. 🤣😂
Get some therapy.
