This is called GEM. What a voice, what a singing style, really remarkable. In one word Superb. We have got another great singer in Rabindrasangeet. Go ahead, my best wishes to you. Want to listen more & more songs.
You should be Bharat Ratna. You are much more than a Bengali singer. You are the best of the best of the (greater) Indian cultural hemisphere. A goddess really, from the Sanskrit anthems.

She is singing 'aji BIJON ghore, NISHITH ratey ...'. I have heard some other famous singers singing ' aji BIJONO ghore, NISHITHO ratey ...'. Could any knowledgeable person please confirm what the authoritative pronunciation (say, approved by the Visva Bharati) should be? Thank you.
As per swaralipi there is no O specified by Tagore after those words bijan or nishith. I have personally checked the swaralipi and it is true. These are called hashanta. As opposed to halanta (where the letter is pronounced in a rounded way with an o ending although the O is not specified in spelling). All old singers - including those who learnt singing straight from Tagore himself sang this song with halanta. That is, they pronounced it as bijono and nishitho. Technically speaking this is in contravention of what is specified in the swaralipi. For example Rajeshwari Dutta (incidentally she was not a Bengali) sang it the traditional way. And every one knows that she was a favourite of Tagore himself and learnt singing these songs from him. You cannot be more authentic than that when it comes to Tagore songs. And I don't think Tagore bothered about it. However, of late, there is a trend of blind adherence to swaralipi and modern singers want to follow the swaralipi to the T. To us old listeners it sounds ridiculous. But that is how it is. We have to accept it. Personally I cannot imagine pronouncing bijon as bijon and not bijono. I just ignore this part.
