I'm a really old guy, and I'm pretty sure that the last time I had this much fun watching a government PSA, Bert the Turtle was telling me to duck and cover. But in this case, I'm laughing because they actually wanted me to. Well done folks, thanks for the very generous and respectful invite. You're in charge of one of the most important geological structures on the planet, and between you and our First Nations brothers and sisters, we'll still be dropping our jaws and wetting our pants 20 generations from now. As it should be. Love you all.

Outstanding job everyone! I've been running there 2 or 3 times a year since 2015, and was backpacking there almost every from 2007 to 2013. Almost every time I'm in the Canyon, I have a "save" of someone who's gotten themselves in over their head and are struggling badly to hike out. I actually carry extra electrolyte packets, extra magnesium, and extra GU Roctane because of how often it happens. Thanks for producing this. I hope it helps get the message out.

Opinions differ on up verse down for ease. For some going down is easier due to gravity, but for others going up is far easier due to wear on the body being far less. Going down bangs the heck out of your knee cartilage, if you still have the stuff, as well as your feet being hit with that extra force of gravity (blister time!), where going up is all about muscle.
For some going down is far more painful and going up is easy peasy, but every body is different, if you know which one yours is you can pack accordingly. If you aren't sure, plan for both (blister gear and walking stick for going down and plenty of rest and food and liquid for going up).

Oh, there's one easy trail to the bottom, and it's the fastest way to get there too, but yeah, you won't be worrying about how hard it is to get back up either, as that part will be a bit messy. The Grand Canyon is beautiful and it is real, it's not a theme park with protections everywhere. You have to use your brain and remember nature is only friend;y when you play by its rules. Learn the rules.
