Picked this up yesterday and already cried even though I’m only ten pages in. Seeing an enby author writing an enby character and being in a mainstream store like Barnes & Noble makes my heart so happy both for them and for my future.
AGREED. It was such an emotional reading experience just because it was so real and because Mason Deaver GETS IT. I was able to see IWYATB on shelves the other day and it hit me SO HARD. So many people are going to get to experience this story, and that doesn't happen every day for enby characters!!
I struggled to write my review for this book because it was so personal for me and I couldn’t figure out how to put that into words that explained everything I was thinking, but you did it. You put it all into words. Thanks.

I just spent 7 hours finishing this book, and as someone who had felt so much like Ben I can't say how important this book has been for me already. The way this book managed personally resonate with me as though it was written from inside my mind will never cease to baffle me. The anxiety, the sudden bursts of depression, the gender dysphoria, the desire to express themselves, the art expression, the fear of crowds, and most of all never being able to fully fit all that they want to say in. And finishing it in thought. Seeing myself so much in Ben hurt, but also gave me so much hope it made it all better. I don't care that this video is 2 years old, I just want this somewhere out there. So long, and I wish you all the best.

Yes, definitely read it at your own pace with those things in mind. I will say that, in spite of those things, it's a story that is ultimately and overwhelmingly about love and hope 🌈💖

As non binary person is make me happy and I feel my parents will also enjoy it. And share with my family .
For me as non binary person live in Israel with Hebrew language that is based on gender so I use both male and female pounces because also they/them you need to ask male or female
I'm so glad to hear that you plan on reading it and also sharing it with your loved ones, because it's really an incredible reading experience! Yes, many languages (like Spanish) are grounded in arbitrary binary gendered undertones, but the good news is that there are still ways to use gender inclusive language besides with just pronouns alone 🌈

Absolutely true. That's why it's important to remember that enby folx can still use she/her/hers and he/him/his pronouns and still be just as enby as folx who don't! Sadly I don't know much about the international release dates for IWYATB. I know some UK/Europe based readers mentioned having to wait another week or two. Maybe check Mason's FAQ on their website to see if they've addressed this inquiry before?

Honestly, this question makes me feel weird, because it's something I would never feel comfortable disclosing about a fellow enby person in real life. Regardless, I think this book is worth reading either way.
