HOW LOW WILL IT GO? - G20 BMW 330i H&R LOWERING SPRINGS

- Welcome back to the Channel! We installed a set of TSW Neptune wheels on this BMW a few months back and after a short amount of time, our customer was looking for the NEW MOD to dial in the fitment. We set our customer up with a set of H&R Sport lowering springs and it's looking great! In this episode, we'll install and you'll follow along as this stock-height BMW G20 330i transforms to a new lowered stance. Lowering springs can be a good alternative to coil-overs while still having benefits in handling and lowering the ride height.
We hope you enjoy watching this video as much as we enjoyed making it for you! Leave a like and suggestion in the comments section for videos you'd like to see.

Thanks for that 👍 at the end of the intro....I was undecided at first.
The motivation I needed!
That drop makes the car look so good. Hoping mine is just as good on a 08 Hyundai Tiburon.
Glad you think so! We agree with you 100% lowering your ride can change its entire perspective. I’m sure it will improve the stance of your vehicle!
I have also a g20. It was all stock and i did also H&R 35mm springs but it seems the same as the stock ones? Where is the issue
Is needed to change the strut mounts as well when installing the springs?
Good tunes.
Great video , can you provide the model of the kit suspension please , did you need to get new set of rims before lowering the car? or it was droop with the original set ? thanks
Good wheels
Just got these done. Car looks great and ride quality if close to stock, but there is a clunking sound coming from front, when you hit even small bumps. Not sure what's causing it.
Check the front sway bar end links. These are usually the first component to go once cars are lowered!
I have a g21 330i, non M sport.. how many mm should i lower it front & rear?
Im having a problem with stock springs on my g20 becaue it'sto harsh. will h&r make it more comfy?
Do you need to adjust the headlight height after lowering the car?
How much rear got lowerd?
Hi. Can I get some details on the wheels? what Size, link to buy?
Hi Nigel, wheels are TSW NEPTUNE
Fronts are 19x8.5+43
rears are 19x9.5+39
Recommended tire sizing
Front 225/40/19
Rear 255/35/19
(This client decided to run 255 square though)
Does it affect the comfort much? And does the adaptive suspension still work?
I just got these done and ride quality is close to stock.
@@zadeh79 alright thx mate
This been a while already so you probably won’t know but what was the front tire size? I seen the back was 255/35/19 what about the front?
Hey buddy, client had requested square tire size on staggered 8.5/9.5” wheels. Not sure why though. It’s 255/35/19 all around.
Are these adjustable?
These lowering springs are not adjustable. But there are adjustable lowering springs kits and adjustable coilover kits available for this vehicle!
Do these springs suit 330i’s with adaptive suspension?
Yes these are compatible with adaptive suspension but be sure to select the correct springs for your platform as there are versions for m sport suspension and non-m sport suspension as well as different version springs per drivetrain as 330i and 330ix have different spring rates.
Put some of these on my older F80 and they ruined the ride 😢 looked awesome but felt awful to drive. I ended up replacing the full suspension which was much better.
I installed the same lowering springs on my car but im still unsure of what will the warranty not cover me, is it just the suspenion as i altered it with coils?
yes, any suspension failure will not be covered, everything else is fine
What wheels are those?
TSW NEPTUNE
Where are you guys located?
Toronto Ontario!
What’s the offset for these wheels?
I believe the front was +33 and rear was +39
how much you guys charge for something like this?
Hey Matt depending on the complexity of the suspension system, could range anywhere from $300-$500CAD. Some suspensions can to go together with your eyes closed. Others have lots of sensors and are also delicate which adds to the time to complete the job.
This car needs a lip
Does this void warranty? Being my daughters car I really need to stay in warranty lol
at least drive couple minutes and tell us how is feeling! waste time! who care how you install this part. even you didnt install. i can open google and see lovering car easily!
We appreciate your feed back! It’s just difficult sometimes to get permission from the owner to drive and test these cars aggressively. some of the cars are brand new so owners are cautious ! Thank you for watching !!!
@@performanceautocentregta7727 I see, you not owner. sorry my brother :) that is my mistake. thanks for sharing this information. exactly i was looking this spring. thanks.
What would you recommend for ride comfort? HR or Eibach, others?
For ride comfort you’re gonna want to lean towards the Eibach kits. While both The h&r spring kit and eibach spring kit are manufactured with progressive spring rates, it’s been reported from other users that the h&r springs provide a more thorough road feedback while the eibach’s tend to retain better ride quality compared to OEM. Both are a great upgrade. Other users opinions I’m sure will vary. Hope this helps!
Eibach
Note that the manufacturer doesn't recommend trimming the stops for this car. That suggests the ride is on the firm side.
I did H&R for my 330i G20, and it looks great, but it does effect ride quality negatively. It's fine on most highways, and it holds better around corners - but only on a perfectly flat road. With bumps and cracks on U.S roads, it gets very jittery. I should have got the Dinan springs (1.20" drop) and specialized bump stops to help give it better rebound.
Bump stops to improve rebound? What are you talking about. 😂
Did you have to trim the bump stops for this?
Yes you do
