Apparently hot water is supposed to aid digestion but I can't stomach anything other than cold water, even during winter. The temperature really does have a profound effect on taste.
It is hard to find good Chinese food in the midwest. Maybe I am stereotyping, but I believe Vancouver/Toronto > LA/New York > Seattle, Las Vegas, DC, Houston > other states. In fact, Vancouver/Toronto is 100% authentic, though people just coming back from China may disagree. The best food in the midwest and the deep south is American food, like BBQ~ Also, I found McDonald/KFC way better than Panda Express/cheap Chinese buffet there.
