14 year old guy here: is it okay if i like makeup and like watching stuff like this?? i feel weird about it and i feel like people will make fun of me if they find out. is this normal?
I don’t personally wear makeup nor am I normally drawn to makeup related videos. But I find videos like this very aesthetically pleasing and the sounds are relaxing. If it makes you happy, I don’t see anything wrong with it at all. I understand that it’s sometimes difficult when it comes to your peers because we all want to fit in. But we must remember that we are all unique. Things will be very boring if everyone were the same and fit into the same mould. It may be challenging to be different, but if others judge us based on superficial things rather than our character or values, then they are the problem. Not us. And we can’t control what others do or think. It takes character and strength to be different and unique, and to be able to freely express ourselves, as long as it does not harm others. At the end of the day, we only live once. So why not do things that make us happy rather than things that please others?
Lots of men create makeup because they have a degree in chemistry. Looks at Maximillian Factorovich or max factor. He was a Pharmacist who had a doctorate in chemistry and became an expert in wig making, he designed and created stage makeup, and later for Hollywood. He also worked with the Westmores who to this day do stage makeuo for all the famous movies in Hollywood. The westmores have been doing wigs and makeup in Hollywood for 120 years and they were all men.
dude, it’s totally normal. makeup isn’t nearly as gendered anymore as it once was. some of the biggest names in the beauty industry are men. artists like sir jon, makeup by mario, patrick ta, wayne goss, the late kevin acouin, robert welsh, patrick starr etc etc. makeup is a form of creativity, expression and fun. it’s also a career for many people. feel free to like whatever you like 🥰 and if people judge, they’re closed-minded. i’m a girl who loves makeup btw. and love it when i see boys wearing it as it isn’t super common where i live.
