  • This expression - "They are in Me, I am not in them" is a beautiful way to live life with detachment and an attitude of a Witness. If we can practice this, peace and happiness are sure to be achieved. Its an attitude of uninvolved observation of thoughts. This express was very dear to Swami Chinmayananda and he made it more and more popular through his talks and by living this way of life.

Poojya Gurudev is one of the greatest spiritual leaders of the world not necessarily just India ; inspite of being an incarnation and a Realised self himself, he is so dow to earth and humble ; he never ever arrogates to himself the doership.

Good explanation of Sloka meaning " I am in the World and World in not me ". Also good instructions for Meditation ie Vasana's are not in me , I am beyond Vasana's. Vasana's don't touch me. I am Infinite.

We live by Memory, repetition. But memory is in Us only. Thus whole world is repetition of memories only. Life is memory Expanding. Yesterday infact is in today as memory. Tomorrow is infact in today as future memory / wish. It's all thus in Today Only, depending on how or what we recall (re - member) to Today. It's all images in Today - Imagination (of yesterday or tomorrow). There is no Today, otherwise!!! So, be Wise, not otherwise!!! You Are / I am....

    Video Summary:
    ये चैव सात्विका भावा राजसास्तामसाश्च ये |
    मत्त एवेति तान्विद्धि न त्वहं तेषु ते मयि || 7.12||
Krishna Says: My lower and higher nature together they constitute source/springboard/womb for everything in the universe with names and forms.
Like ocean is womb but waves are the product of the ocean. Waves cannot be there where ocean is not. Waves are oceanic water in motion. Smashy, stormy waves cannot affect the ocean. The waves can destroy the ships floating on surface, crush mountains on beach, pulverise the rocks but can do no harm to the ocean. Waves are born, grow, decay die dissappear. This is nature of waves.
But ocean is not born with waves, grows with waves or dies with waves. As long there is ocean, there are new waves that can be born and die.
Consciousness is like the ocean. The thoughts arising are a disturbance in consciousness. So consciousness is the motherboard of all possibilities, of all thought waves arising in the human mind. All evil, good and indifferent arise from me.
These thought waves are expressions of past inhibitions in you.
Those thoughts are in me but I am not in them. The dream is mine but I am not the dreamer. Depicts a relationless relationship.
In dream I may commit murder but I am immaculate when I wake up, no one can hold me accountable for those acts done in dreams.
They are in me but I am not in them.
Dirty thoughts arising in you? So What?
They are in me but I am not in them.
When evil thoughts, bad temper and anger come in you don't accept them.
They are in you but you are not in them.
You are not the mind. The mind is fluctuating.
Without contact with you the consciousness, the mind cannot exist, think or produce the next thought. Can a wave exist outside an ocean?
In state of unconscious there are no forms: good bad or indifferent.
And even when the thoughts are there, have the discrimination to understand they are in me but I am not them. I will not be conditioned by them.
There can never be disturbance in contemplation if you have the knowledge of what you are seeking/searching and what is its relationship with your forms.

Mentions of word "me" and "I" refers to the Atman,Vidya. I am that, you are that.I am the whole. You are the whole. The whole in one. The past, present and future in one.
