My heart went out to Sherpa when he stood at the bottom of the stairs knowing he wouldn’t be able to climb them. Such a sensible fellow. And he didn’t complain! Still, he and Jamie had a peaceful time, with lovely views over the water and incoming tide, and managing to sleep near to each other on the ground floor. Thank you for sharing your trip with us! ❤️
To sleep near Sherpa is what it is all about. Unconditional love and affection for Sherpa even when a comfy bed is upstairs you sleep near where he is because you love him. We all would do the same thing.

I couldn't figure out why you said you were sleeping on the couch, then to realize it was because Sherpa wouldn't go up the stairs -- that is how much we love our dogs. This was the most heartwarming thing I have watched all day. And that house was so pretty.

Another RUclips channel I sometimes watch have a golden retriever and a Great Pyrenees. The great Pyrenees will not climb the stairs and go to their bedroom because they’re open like those stairs in this house. The golden has no trouble with the stairs but the bigger dog won’t climb them. Our man Sherpa is smart enough to gauge what feels safe to him.
A friend of mine one summer day years back had her Labrador in the basement because it was cooler down there and they did not have air conditioning at the time. The dog was about 100 pounds, and she could not get him to go back up the stairs. I offered to carry him up, but she was afraid that I might throw my back out because she definitely could not carry him, for that reason. I coaxed him almost to the top of those stairs with treats, but it was the same scenario. The open stairs just scared him

@@SherpasDay Reminds me of when my malamute had to stay with the parents at short notice (unexpected hospital stay) and she climbed up the narrow staircase to be closer to family - gave my father a shock when he opened the door and almost fell over 120 pounds of fluff! 😂 Getting her downstairs again was another matter... Hope y'both had a lovely time. 🐺

When I saw those OPEN stairs I immediately wondered if Sherpa would use them. Over the years I've had several big, brave dogs in my orbit who have refused to use OPEN stairs. For some reason it scares them. So let Sherpa know that we know he climbs many stairways around the UK, we understand his reluctance in this case. Sherpa and Jamie should be official tourist representatives of Britain! I see all of these lovely places and it makes me want to fly across the ocean and visit!
I hope you both make it over. There are some beautiful places. Not that America lacks them either. When I visited the US the sense of space was a bit overwhelming though at times. We are small and a bit quirky and have some fascinating history, these 2 really do visit some of the best parts.
The house is very nice, didn't work out entirely, butstill it had great features that could be utilized. Sherpa is so lovable, you really hit the jackpot when you chose him. Perhaps it was meant to be considering as a team you've brought so much to so many.
I did the same. Rented a large 2 story house by a lake. Bedroom was upstairs, I spent all my time on the bottom floor closer to the deck on the water with my dog 🐕

I wonder if it's because the stairs were open back ones too? Sherpa normally climbs up full stairs in these videos. I'm Hooman and I don't feel safe climbing open back stairs 😅 mostly because of slipping, but also the horror film possibility of someone grabbing my ankle 😨!! Sherpa is much braver than me though so if they weren't bare wood I reckon he'd have gone up! X

I’ve always taken my taken my Siberian Husky with me when traveling. She gets really weirded out in strange hotel rooms- I’ll wake up in the middle of the night to see her sitting right next to the bed staring at me- like “are we leaving now??” Such a sweet girl, I hate seeing her so uncomfortable but she loves adventures 🥰

The Prince of Wales Bridge is a beautiful bridge. Quite a nice house for your stay and a great little yard for Lord Sherpa's needs. I love the way he explores everything. I think he loves watching the birds. Sherpie is like me, some days are better than others for stairs. Lessons learned are good for us all Enjoy Wales!
What a beautiful house! It is very big, would be a nice place if you ever get the whole family together again. Plenty of room for Granny and her husband, Sarah and Nook. :). Sherpa really is such a good boy, he is happy everywhere he goes as long as you are with him. That was really nice that you came down stairs to be near him. She gets really weirded out in strange hotel rooms- I’ll wake up in the middle of the night to see her sitting right next to the bed staring at me- like “are we leaving now??” Such a sweet girl, I hate seeing her so uncomfortable but she loves adventures 🥰
Ahhh poor Sherpa! My Labrador wouldn’t want to go up those stairs either. I love that you woke at 3 AM found him under the stairs and stayed on the living room couch nearer to him. ❤️

I felt so bad for Sherpa not being able to climb the stairs and sleeping under them to be near Jamie, only to have Jamie sleep on the couch. Can't wait to see the rest of Wales. 💖
The stone on the walk-out is really pretty. Sherpa really stood out laying on it too. I noticed on the TV what you were 👀, Tolkien fans UNITE ! Sherpa is so precious when he wakes. 💙🐕

The Prince of Wales Bridge is a beautiful bridge. Quite a nice house for your stay and a great little yard for Lord Sherpa's needs. I love the way he explores everything. I think he loves watching the birds. Sherpie is like me, some days are better than others for stairs. Lessons learned are good for us all Enjoy Wales!

What a beautiful house! It is very big, would be a nice place if you ever get the whole family together again. Plenty of room for Granny and her husband, Sarah and Nook. :). Sherpa really is such a good boy, he is happy everywhere he goes as long as you are with him. That was really nice that you came down stairs to be near him. Hope you continue to have a wonderful trip! I have always wanted to see Wales, I love getting to see it through your videos at a nice "wander" pace.
Pleased Sherpa didn't attempt those steep steps as i didn't want him to slip and fall down them. Jamie, you are a good Daddy, sleeping on the settee. Loved seeing Wales again as i am from North Wales, Rhyl .
