Nah you're slightly off if it is damaged for whatever reason it will not do anything really but instead the resulting sudden release of his power will obliterate the system but after the initial explosion of power it calms down but it will quickly destroy the planet and probably all of reality if he so much as moves a finger

I think at some point the seal will get removed and he can fully control his powers without the planet exploding hopefully next season or near future
