Hell being made entirely of default assets is an idea that's so obvious in hindsight that I'm genuinely surprised that I never saw anyone do it until now.
Space Funeral pretty much did that and it was so awesome
@@ultracyber4511 Space funeral implied it through satire, but in the game itself default assets were the golden age the characters fought to return to, the complete opposite.
I imagine he’ll as a never ending office building
"Serious game"
"You acquired a Jew"
On the steam page it's describe as "dark comedy"
@@alleythetoaster8401 just like The Room.
That's called historical accuracy, my friend.
I think Vinyot described it well "Creative, dense and sometimes hard to understand but great and worth playing".
I was surprised how well the english version worked because this game is basically one big slovak inside joke.
Also even the OG slovak version is at times difficult to understand since every character has their own way of speaking, for example hussites speak czech, Pavol speaks eastern dialect (imagine scottish/aussie accent), Matej speaks "proper modern"/central slovak dialect, Jozef adds hungarian words etc. plus they all speak "old-timey" to make it even more confusing.
And I guess it may also get confusing for someone when they start using nicknames and Stefan gets called Stevo, Scevo, Stefi and god knows what in the span of like 5 minutes lol.
However the game is great and I can't wait for the DLC.
You might like Planet Laika if you want the same energy. PS1 jrpg.
1:01:48 This scene was truly terrifying, it was as if the devs visisted the underworld themselves and had Satan design a level for them
Every time the battle music plays I just hear "MY BURGER WAS POISONED. THAT MAKE ME ANGRY. SO I CALL GHOSTBUSTER. HEY GHOSTBUSTER MAN."
"This is the last time I go to Felvidek, they put demon in qahwah!"
I always find it appropriate to finish the final fight with GUN, Adam is truly based.
I found it funny how GUN is higher damage and more supply efficient than the literal divine flaming Holy Sword which was given by God himself
I know vinny found the dialog incredibly exhausting, but I enjoyed trying my best to parse the meaning underneath, especially when occasionally that meaning was "I have the worst shits right now"
While the flow of the sentences and some of the choices of words are kind of archaic, overall it's actually still more modern than most people realize. I reckon most english speakers from that time period would probably have as hard a time, if not a harder time, understanding it compared to us.
I'm sure that it was an intentional design decision, to make it feel historical and require a bit of effort to understand while still be relatively easy, rather than being like the original unmodified works of shakespear. Maybe it's just me, but I found it really added to the humour of having such a faithful and historically accurate setting, mixed in with things that clash with it in a tongue-in-cheek way. With the exception of the music and some of the monsters, the whole game just oozes "Gritty and realistic, but not quite right"
I will miss this title so ducking much bros, it was a perfect blend of history, lovecraftian horror, fantasy, music, comedy and drama, personally tailored for me, a Pole, once greatly invested in both history and fiction related to Hussites, friends with many Slovaks and Magyars (Hungarians).
Like I said, It felt as if it was an experience crafted just for me specifically!
The cherry on top was of course THE English Major™ completely ignorant of the game's historical background, butchering not only funi-alphabet words, but his own old tongue! And he kept going, adding to the hysterical hilarity.
This was oddly fun to watch. I was invested in the characters and even though the tone throughout was pretty serious, the jokes they sprinkled in were delightful
This took a STRANGE TURN
Pavol's Bizzare Adventures.
Finally, Felvidek: Stardust Crusaders is here.
33:43 The animator clearly researched some HEMA because that was a clean and realistic swordfight!
EDIT: I recently picked up a idling/collector game called Croakoloco, and I feel Vinny would very much enjoy it. Super relaxing.
Agreed! Quick and lethal, very well made
This game reminds me of what a lot of people have probs done myself included, try making a shitty game on RPG maker using the default assets before abandoning it. Except these guys made proper assets and everything and used default assets for a joke. ingenius
Tuned in just in time to see "You aquired a Jew." Seems like a interesting game.
Can I have a timestamp please?

Jew got it, son
The hand-filled battle animations is a very Hylics-esque touch.
The one fight song that sounds like ghostbusters also sounds like another song from around the same time but I cannot remember the name so I’m just slowly going nuts trying to find the name of the song.
I wouldn't have minded if the player decided Pali's fate instead of the Pavol. Hopefully Ida finds her as I can't imagine the world is safe with a proven witch let loose.
Not gonna lie, I don't think I absorbed a single thing that happened in this game, but boy did I love some of the music. The battle theme and a couple other tracks. And I don't even feel like they really fit the vibe of the game, yet I think I enjoy it even more for that.
He put a Jew in his inventory but an Ottoman too later on. What a game.
1:01:48 scary
For historical Numb nuts there's a another dense narrative RPG game, Pentiment created by the same people who made fallout 1,2 and new vegas
Pentiment is amazing. It does have the same director as New Vegas, but otherwise no connection to Fallout 1&2.
@@ryeply ah my mistake thanks for clarifying my mistake
57:18 for title drop
I thought that thumbnail was just Johnny taking creative liberties…
"That's what they call him in the game. It makes sense in the story."
I mean, it should make sense, as they call him a jew because he's a jew. Not sure how much more direct than that they could be.
I can't get over how much I love the music in this game. I feel it's something like ohGr but even more psychedelic, and that's saying a lot. lmao
Good thumbnail, Johnny. I clicked.
Bye bye Medieval Hylics... You launched several rotten cows at the wannabes who tried hard.
Thanks for the interesting/snooze content Vinny. I rewatch to get the best of both worlds. Fear and hunger next?
Vinny. Since you're looking at one-offs, Could you play Voices of the Void since you might not fully want to play through it? It could be cool just to see your take on it even if it only gets one episode.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Good game.
4:47 Gun moment
I was tabbed out and that gunshot right at the start scared the everliving shit out of me.
This wasn't bad and I want to say I enjoyed this but it really was the most second screen content I've had in a while.
I still applaud the effort of the folk working in this and SPECIALLY the music
Really unique game loved watching
Very entertaining playthrough to watch. Still not hearing Ghostbusters at all in the battle theme. Rather, hearing the beginning of the Beatles' _Birthday_ instead.
Yea verily, I enjoyed this
A very good game.
Confused why the Demon in an otherwise well researched game mentioned the Austro-Hungarian monarchy when Austria barely even exists as a concept in this time period much less the duel monarchy which wouldn't exist until the 19th century.
Not sure if bad writing or another layer to his monologue
Many Demons know things beyond our time. When researching demonology, I learned that like half of Demons were said to "perfectly tell the past, present, and future". They were not very creative with their powers back in the day.
@@NecromancyForKids bruh
@@NecromancyForKids That wording states research into the Ars Goetia specifically.
The game seems to take place in the Hussite Wars as evidenced by the wandering Hussites and Felvidek taking place just a few years before the printing press, yet the Ottoman near the end mentions Murad II. He reigned wayy after the Hussite Wars and during the time Hungary would absolutely be under Austrian Habsburg rule
