Roald est un joyeux crapaud anthropomorphique qui perçoit la vie de la manière la plus mignonne, colorée et amusante qui soit. C’est aujourd’hui son anniversaire, et il souhaite impressionner ses invités qu’il espère très nombreux. Malheureusement personne ne vient…
Mais soudain, la sonnette retentit, et Roald s’apprête faire la rencontre d’une mouche paranoïaque dont la vision est drastiquement opposée à la sienne.
Roald is an anthropomorphic toad who perceives life in a cute, cartoonish and colorful way. Here comes his birthday! Roald intends to impress his guests he expects to be numerous, but sadly, nobody comes.
When suddenly, the doorbell rings and Roald is about to make an unexpected encounter with a paranoiac fly, whose point of view is drastically opposed to his.

J'ai trouvé ça tarte jusqu'à l'apparition du moustique. Excellent ce démarrage quitchounet pour provoquer cette dualité des extrêmes. Bravo.

This is so good! Fantastic animation short
I really has waiting for this project when see the teaser and the waiting is over now, the characters designes are marvelous, the toad side are pretty sweet, like a fairy tale, and the fly vision, is a good twist for brake the first minutes, i supos, non of the vsisions are the reality, the toad and the fly see the world withe his own eyes. The toad show a energic and positive personality, and everyting looks pretty. In the way of the fly, had a insecurity and fear for everyone and sees the world like a monster movie, because the things goes so exagerated in the ran out of the house when the toad turn into a gigant and the inside in a lava cave. I supouse the toad actualy are not a bad guy, but is a little roug with the interaction.
J'ai vraiment beaucoup aimé. Les pattes graphiques sont superbes. On a l'impression de naviguer d'un univers à un autre et ce n'est absolument pas dérangeant. Merci pour cette pépite :)

Waw... j'ai adoré et l'histoire, et le design, et la production (musique,...), etc.
Au fond, cette grenouille vit une grande tristesse, puisque rejetée alors qu'elle ne fait que rechercher des amis.

Ça m’a fait pensé à Kaeloo, grenouille toute chou et quand elle est énervée se transforme en crapaud dangereux.

So the frog’s harmless intentions I stead made him come off as a demonic monster?
Pretty sure it's just that his view of the world is twisted, seems similar to the Pyro short from Team Fortress 2, where he did horrible things but his world view was all rainbows and unicorns
EDIT: Since it's never made clear, it's also quite likely that the fly's view is the twisted one, seeing despair and terror where there is none. Or that both of their world views are equally as twisted and we never actually see reality. I think this is a nice change of the trope and lets the short be open to interpretation

Il est tellement mignon, heureux, gai, ouvert, de bonne humeur, coloré, enthousiaste, ce R❤ALD !
Quel dommage que ce malheureux insecte n'ait pas pu le percevoir autrement que comme un redoutable prédateur 😢 !
Mais la mouche-moustique était hélas dans le vrai de la vie réelle !
La Vie n'est malheureusement pas un dessin animé joliment coloré !

le générique de fin est intéressante. Le crapaud voit le monde en rose. Tandis que le moustique voit le monde en noir. On peut se demander lequel est dans le vrai xD et quelle aurait la réalité ? xD
