When someone is rude/mannerless 싸가지가 없다 is used, so 싸가지가 있다 would be good, but then again 싸가지야 means rude/jerk as used in the first scene after the intro. So like I wanted to ask what is the 논리 behind this? (Idk if my question even makes sense....)
People often use the phrase 싸가지 없다 to indicate someone is rude, but you'll rarely hear 싸가지 있다. Logically, 싸가지 있다 should describe someone with good manners, but it's simply not used that way. This differs from 예의, which can be used both positively (예의 있다) and negatively (예의 없다). The term 싸가지 by itself tends to be associated with negative connotations, so when someone is called 싸가지, it's generally understood that the person is being rude or disrespectful. This is the logic behind why calling someone 싸가지 implies that they are a jerk 😉
@@ikoreanu Ohhh so 싸가지 is associated with negative connotations no matter how it's used. Thank you!! You're a good teacher, the contrast with 예의 was also helpful!
