People either loved or hated the boat tail Rivs. I happen to like them. 1971’s were the last year before they got detuned and choked with emissions. In 1973 they got the big ugly bumpers. This is a nice one but I don’t care for the wheels.
When I saw Kojaks Buick century I realized that it was a derivative of this beautiful Buick Riviera possibly one of the greatest car designs to come out of America along side of the 64 impala and the 55 Chevrolet and Plymouth superbird
to bad it doesnt have buckets and console originally. nice in black. I had a 70 Riv GS with bucket seats back in 1976. Also a very rare 72 GS with factory sunroof and buckets. 70 was Tan with brown top and interior. GS package is rare and included the 370HP 455 with a 342 POSI rear, HD springs. The bucket seats were an option on top of the GS package. Your missing the GS badge on the trunk lid by the Riviera badge. Not all Rivs had that. Also side moulding should be body colorl. I painted mine dk brown which set of the car better. I used to beat all kinds of cars in drag races. It was a boat but very fast. looks great in Black, a rare color.

High school 73 I'm 16 I'm looking & driving a green 71,took it for a drive it ran great used a quarter tank of gas in 20 min.I bought a grand prix 71 model jay 400-4 b..13 mpg.!!

I like the look of the dual grills on the trunk too. They did away with them for 2 reasons. Exhaust fumes entered the car and water seepage.

I had one of these you could just watch the gas hand move as you drove it have a 65 Thunderbird now which isn't a lot better but it's better

I had a 67 Riv 430 4bbl wildcat lsp rear it was an very fast carand very manuverable.
