Written and recorded between Berlin and Paris, and later completed at Phillipe Zdar’s legendary Motorbass studio, ‘One Thousand Waves’ captures Palms Trax, aka Jay Donaldson, in fresh, pop-oriented pastures, while reinforcing the emotive musicality that has earned him a role as one of club culture’s most beloved aficionados.
Having previously collaborated with Mac DeMarco and Bakar on his 2021 solo album ‘Born A Loser’, Myd proves to be a perfect foil for the rich, vivid synth pop emerging from Palms Trax’s studio. His yearning vocal performance invites listeners and slow dancers to lean into a track that conjures shades of classic Parisian electro with a foundation of bittersweet balearica, building to an explosion of cathartic percussion from guest drummer, Antoine Bourachot."
