I have to imagine that the Ancients gained a major burst of relief when Daniel finally Ascended for the last time. He had no reason to annoy them anymore.
Straight pest
I suspect they found him far more annoying after he ascended.
@@TwilightMysts facts
@@TwilightMysts Fair enough. But he'd eventually get tired of being Merlin 2.0, right? Right other Ascended beings?
Oh he'd probably ascend again at the end of his physical life
This scene always gives me goosebumps. Chilling and cryptic, to suddenly realize you're in the presence of an Ascended Being.
Oh yeah at in this video at minutes 1:37 when she looks at him an turn her head to look at him directly ohh boy the first time I watched this episode (it had to be the first time it was on TV also lol) I literally remember turning to my brother an telling him something like"she has to be some type of ancient but not full full ancient or hell maybe even a actual ancient that would be so crazy though I sure hope so
For Daniel that's a Tuesday. On Wednesdays he IS an ascended being and on Thursdays he's dead
Lol, u realise it's not real, right?
@@yaserthe1 Lol.
Well..once Shepperd was in the presence of an Ascended Being,he got cozy with her^^
2:46 "purpose of assisting young minds.".
My mind immediately went to, "the very young (minds) do not always do as they are told."
that sounds like a Jack O'Neill's reply XD
I was more like, "yes, and I am assisting..."
@@CaptWirg He got it from Anteaus or Ohper.. And I think Lya says it somewhere, too.
I’m glad Weir apologized, but its amazing how everyone in the stargate multiverse dismissed any idea Daniel ever comes up with, even though he is often times right and also the whole reason anything is taking place off of earth!
that sort of thing happened a lot coming from oniell. There were so many times Something weird would happen and he would give the oh cmon youre crazy look , and I'm like uh after all the strange things you've already had first hand experience with you won't give someone a break .
Jackson's whole persona was as a maverick thought. That is the reason he was recruited to decode the stargate in the original movie. Would take a certain degree of self belief to maintain that in a real person though.
For me this is the best Stargate episode, combing both SG-1 and Atlantis in a great way. Missing both so very much.
One thing that really anoys me with atlantice is they they can't keep and fucking aurora ship for more that 2 days
@@thomasw695 At least the Tria is safe, stranded between galaxies where the Atlantis team can't screw it up, and someone can go study it one day.
any episode with daniel in lead is my favorit. but this episode, and the first time he interacts with a Unas. chaka. enemy mine i think
And then Universe crashed and burned which meant no Atlantis movie.
@@josephmort4039 universe had its moments, but it got out on the wrong foot. also hard keep the stargate feel when most of it just takes place on a ship
God I LOVED this moment, the last season where honestly amazing for being clever, dark and funny.
I'm a huge fan of all things Sci Fi but it's moments like this that always made Stargate superior to alternatives like Star Trek or Andromeda. (Babylon 5 and Battlestar are leagues of their own.) It felt like a big step forward not only for the season's arc, but it paid off dozens of scenes of research and exploring Daniel had done across multiple seasons of (technically) two shows. It was such a huge win for being something so minor as a "gotcha."
The whole hallowed are the Ori thing got annoying after a while. I didn't really care for season 9 but it got better in season 10.
@@michaelrunk5930 I loved the ending for the Ori in the Movie. Moreana Baccarin was awesome in the role and Sarah Strange was also really awesome in the role of Ganos Laal.
The actress is Sarah Strange. Underrated IMHO. Loved her character in SGA and Arc of Truth.
Sarah Stranger is mighty strange you know
I love how Daniel is shaking his head in acknowledgment yes yes yes and at the end of her dissertation, he says no 😆
It's one of those moments we see the idea of rising to a higher state of being that are so romanticized exposed. Keeping to a rigid dogma of non-interference to the point of self-destruction while dropping the barest of clues for the lowers to solve the issue right before the clock strikes 12? And Vala makes it all the more poignant, "I think I'm starting to see why you came back Daniel, I wouldn't have appreciated their company either."
Er, he was **nodding** his head yes, yes, yes. Shaking your head is pivoting it in a back, and forth movement, which is used to indicate no, nodding is tilting your head in an up, and down movement, used to indicate yes.
@@Someone--Else Vala was making some good points and he was nodding at them.. but it was not what he was thinking about.
This moment was just the BOMB. Damn Jackson was bad ass, to think Vala thought she knew him well enough? He was like an onion, layer upon layer he peeled off, not even Morgan Lafey saw it coming. 😂
At this point Daniel has some amount of access to his knowledge from when he was ascended (shown in Threads and the Ori arc), and he has extensive experience outside that.
Honestly at that point, even lacking the science training of Carter, the Ancient gene of O'niell or the raw physical strength and martial training of Teal'c he is likely the single most adept and "powerful" Tau'ri out there. He likes to downplay what he knows and can do, but when pushed and something is on the line he is on point and capable of some amazing feats.
I imagine Daniel suspected Lafey was involved from the moment the conversation started, but knowing the ascended he chose to follow along until he had what he needed and he could trap her into revealing herself fully so he could pressure her to give more.
This was a great reveal. I mean, looking back on it, there's tons of hints, including the very first thing she says about this being the ONLY time voice commands will work. But still, at the time it was a real "oh damn" moment.
0:52 Valas unwavering confidence and curiosity even as her theory is shut down so nonchalantly is inspiring, even after all these years.
What a magical show, Daniel and Vala Amazing team :-) plus she loves him
And he loved her, but after what happened to the last few love interests it’s understandable why he would be wary to love again
Love may be a strong word. With the hard life she's lived, Vala may not be big on loving or trusting anyone at this point. Of course, that could change in time. She's certainly fascinated with Daniel, though. For some reason he has that effect on alien chicks.
He has that effect on everyone, even me. And I'm straight. ish.
@@ShaolinShadowStrokeThey do end together in the last episode of sg1 season 10: unending.
Probably one of the most memorable moments of S10 right here. This moment was amazing.
Vala: "Her demeanor completely changed, she looked right at Daniel, it was really creepy."
It really freaking was!!! The first time I saw it my stomach dropped and I got chills! Such a great reveal!
That's not even the main point, she fucked up by looking at Daniel the second time instead of at the podium because it was supposed to be a recording
@zippacna ...way to miss my point but ok?
I really like the scenes with these two. They're like chaotic kids.🤣🤣🤣
I remember this messing me up when she looked at him. SG1 was dope.
I remember feeling a chill when she made eye contact with Daniel
It's so nice of Morgan/Ganos to refer to Weir by her title of Doctor. Compared to the Ancients we are but insects really. But she's still showing her the respect of her title. Its such a nice detail
This is still one of my favorite scenes. Daniel outsmarts an Ascended Being who thinks she is too clever to be caught.
"Hey got you!"
God this show was so good.
I kept getting chills and goosebumps! Love this series, wish they had kept it going.
She tried to trick Daniel out of all people...whoops.
Daniel was slow, Jonas would have known the whole thing was a ruse before even entering the room. He would smell the deception with his weird Sherlock-esque deduction skills that made season 6 so great.
Daniel was experienced in the procedure. so he knew when to ask and respond.
@@krashd Awesome Fraser and Awesome Jonas.
Daniel will work away at a puzzle until it is solved, he figured out how to activate the Stargate afterall.
“For assisting younger minds” does not mean children…. #justsaying
You just know the Nox must have got on great with the ancients with their shared love of arrogance.
@@krashd Well, you can't blame them for prejudice. God knows how many civilization have been undone because those who were not prepared were given exceeding knowledge. Tollans are a primary example, and they are not even that advanced.

It's always sort of poetic that Dr. Jackson who was Ascended always calls out Ascended beings.......
Thank you ! This were my favourite serie when i were teenager ! It was my dream ... I Can read the subtitles but i don't understand american conversations . This série IS the most fantastic and interesting of the last years !!!
You'd think Morgan Le Fey would know that the first human to step foot on Atlantis after the Ancients evacuated was Col. Marshal Sumner. Weir was in that group for sure, but Sumner was first through the gate. Dr. Weir was the fifth human to step foot on Atlantis.
I was just thinking this when I saw your comment posted literally minutes before 😂
There was another Weir who travelled back in time and was in stasis for thousands of years.
@@hivebrain but that would either be before the Ancients evacuated the city, and therefore not in this frame of reference, or alternate-Weir who would have gone through the gate in the same order... and then everyone drowned.
@@Serin9X no as the weir in stasis woke on a cycle to rotate the ZPMs, therefore being the first human after the ancients left.
@@Serin9X Yes but they didnt call themselves Human, they refer to their race as "Alantians". So technically speaking, Dr Weir WAS the first human to set foot on Atlantis, in the past, when the Altantians were still there.
been waiting for this clip for ages it feelsl like
One thing I always liked about Stargate was that it showed what could happen if "ascended/higher forms of life" races didn't want to involve themselves in "normal" life.
Which was the complete opposite of Babylon 5's Vorlons/Shadows who directly and indirectly influenced other races.
There were a few demonstrations as to why intervention is often a _bad_ idea.
Loved this episode.
Good damn I loved Morgan this was a bad ass story line
Got to love how smug Daniel looks when the power readings came back
Really, an Ascended being couldn’t quickly fake a power log in a few seconds?
Ancients/the Ascended: as inept as the script requires.
mattwho81, Why bother? She recognized she had been caught out, don't you think?
I imagine she could, but she wanted to help, getting caught by humans was not an issue. Not crossing the assended rule book plot device before she gave the info was the issue.
She was already pushing it being there, remember their rule no interference.
If she did what you talking about, the others would yank her azz outta there.
Well, they're not gods. :P She definitely wasn't anticipating Vala to insist on asking the simple question or Daniel being immediately suspicious of the simple answer.
Morgan LeFay/Ganos Lal was actually pretty hot.
That women was simply beautyfull
I Hated the fact that weir got cycled out.
She brought something that the rest just could not.
And for those saying but wat aboit carter?
She deserved her own show in the SG universe not a couple of stand in jobs.
Weir was boring. Should've started with one of the others to begin with rather than a terrible actor and boring character.
And that goes for both her and the original Weir who was so unremarkable I didn't even realize until the third time I watched the series that it was supposed to be the same character.
terrible actress. she had exactly 2 faces.
she was able to organize the force on atlantis, relied on others when it was not political.
She wanted a bigger role and they didn't want to give the character that much apparently. I guess it would be like General Hammond, great character, but he can't be on the screen on the screen the whole time because he is an administrator. The only way to show them more would be to send them on missions which doesn't happen with a base commander.
Just so epic. ##WeWantStargate
One of the best WTF? faces ever from Tori there.
Sarah Strange was HOT 🔥!
Still is
And that voice...
@@krashd ya.. I couldve listen on heavy rotation247
Wow they cast my aunt Dierdre as Morgan LaFey.
Awesome aunt.
we are always in the presence of ascended beings. Remember that as we decide how to treat others in every moment.
Claudia Black was such a great addition to the show.
You what would be cool? A spin-off show set during the Middle Ages, when Moros lived there as Merlin and entrusted his secret to Arthur and his Knights. I can imagine Merlin using his powers and knowledge to build swords, shields and armor that looked magical but were actually technological in nature. Then Arthur and his Knights would go in adventures with that, perhaps even travelling to other planets using the Antartic gate.
I always wondered if this Dr. Weir is related to the Dr. Weir from Event Horizon.
An energy being would be interesting.
The look she had at the end was ah crap they going to punish me for that... Again
So Atlantis is a massive city with a similar internal volume to the island of Manhattan, it would be home to hundreds of thousands of ancients at least, and Daniel wanted to look through them one by one to see if he recognized any of them?
it has never been portrayed as a city including civilian, kids and so on as manhattan in your comparaison, more a scientific/economic place
i'd take the central are of a city with every bisnes/schools as a better image, therefore not that many being there full time, especially by the end of it
By the time of the final evacuation group Daniel was looking at, it was a skeleton crew.
It's generally implied that the Alterans were severely limited in number following both the plague and many of their own people Ascending, which is why they were numerically overwhelmed by the Wraith despite vastly superior technology. They simply didn't have the manpower and access to resources to combat the sizable Wraith threat.
Never quite bought that logic due to how ludicrously advanced and powerful the Alterans were vs the Wraith, but that's how it's presented.
@@jeremywerner9489 or why they couldn't or wouldn't train up the billions of humans in the galaxy to fight the Wraith alongside them
You seem somehow surprised that an _archaeologist_ refuses to give up if they don't come across what they're looking for in a few hours.
Imagine a Windows update right when Rodney opens the laptop after the nuke
Such a great "oh shit" moment.
Pretty sure it doesn't change even though it did.The first episode had a different person. As this little interactive person
its actually clever, how she appears in front of the last ancient, because shes also in the list.
So,. she completed the requested task of showing all the ancients in Atlantis, and still almost kept her cover
A lot of the male scientist had a rude awkward awakening that day since they did intense study with that "hologram" on a weekly basis for "scientific" purposes.
New game show idea: Are you smarter than an Ancient?
and to think it would probably have been trivial for her to just fake the power usage
Ce moment ou on choisis son avatar dans un jeux video. Et qu'on c'est pas le qu'elle prendre.
The fact that these 2 are married in RL, must be really fun working with your spouse as an actor lol 😅
Who and who?
He isn't, or have been married to any of those three women.
He is currently married to Lexa Doig, and he met Her in the Andromeda show. And She was as well the General daughter, the doctor in SG-1.
Before that he was married to the Sha're, actress that was his wife as well in the SG-1 and his character was seeking her to free her.

0:28 did they make this scene because they realized Matthew Walker already played an ancient in Stargate Atlantis and here they decided to say those two ancients were the same person?
Clearly the ancients weren’t known for their improvisational skills. lol.
Myrddin: Mear-den?
Isn't the double-d in Gaelic pronounced with a 'th' sound? Thus it should be pronounced like 'Marthen' (modern Carmarthen is, in fact, named from Caer Myrddin: Merlin's Town)
Thank you.
The first person from earth wasn't Dr Elizbeth Weir, it was in fact Colonel Sumner and his team...
Yeah...about that...
@@Ragitsu Am I right or wrong
@@Ragitsu Morgan Le Fay, when disguised as a hologram, says that Dr. Elizabeth Weir was the first human to arrive in Atlantis after it was abandoned by the Lanteans. This seemingly contradicts "Rising", where Colonel Marshall Sumner goes through the Stargate first. However, in "Before I Sleep", it is revealed that Elizabeth Weir, having traveled back in time, is left in Atlantis after the Lanteans abandon the city. She awakened every 3,300 years or so to rotate the Zero Point Modules. This would mean that she was the first human to set foot in Atlantis after the Lanteans abandoned the city.
@@ff3player Thank you, but I was already aware of that.
0:54
Technically not true. Wasn’t it Marshall Summers, the soldier who went through after the MALP?
Actually nevermind. I think she is referring to when Weir had to continually exit the stasis pod to switch the ZPMs, so the systems would recognise her as the first to ‘arrive’.
@@Gatetraveller1 Time travel can do a number on your sense of continuity.
Partially true that one yes...she did not leave with the rest of the Ancients...but she's arrived...or more like...crashed to them while they were still on Atlantis.
@@TheValentineEnemy yeah, but she was putt in stasis and Atlantis shut down all systems. So when she woke up, the system temporarily kicked back in on some level, logging her presence in the database.
@@Gatetraveller1 temporary activation of certain protocols to manage the city with power transfer.
First question. "How TF did you guys manufacture the ZPM's. Thanks". Imagine 3 on the Deadulus. Unstoppable. Shoot. Why not put 12 on atlantis and let 11 power the shield. They could just use it has a battering ram chasing people around.
They know how they built them. The plans would be in the Atlantis database. The problem is there just too advanced to make, atleast till the end of season 10 when they get there hands on all the Asgard tech, then they dont need ZPMs. Asgard power generation is better
@@icer1249"Asgard power generation is better"
Proof for this assertion?
@Ragitsu well there hyperdrives work off how much power is put into them. There ships can travel between galaxies in a couple hours (and further then pegasus) When you hook up a zpm to the asgard drive it still takes 3 days to travel to just pegssus. (This could of course just be because the asgard gave the tauri an inferior drive? But why would they)
Next there's the fact this power plants are standard on there outdated ships (bliskener) There newer ones and planet based PowerPlants would be even better.
And lastly the zpm may be able to output more or not we don't have exact numbers but the fact the asgard powerplants are standard implies they aren't a rare resource like zpms and are just as powerful and easier to produce.
What do you do for eternity in an ascended plane? I take it ascended plane means you're in another dimension? Like the 4th or 5th dimension of the universe? i.e. you have what might look like powers to lower dimension beings but basically it is just still science. You're not really eternal still and can be killed as evident by the Ori's plans
Is it me or is the sound really low ?

Maybe they didn't care? "Overcome" implies a difficulty...an obstacle.
@@Ragitsu those are my words, not theirs. Also im not necessarily talking about hair cream. More like genetics. They are far more superior than us in every way. You'd think the bald gene wouldn't be a thing at that point in their evolution.
@@tsemiuthis is one of the best things shown about the show and the ancients. Maybe there are some things you cant and/or shouldn't do. The Asgard are a prime example. Tinkered with their genetics to gain longer life and it cost them their species. I'm not putting this in the same category, but to them, fixing a gene to fix hair loss may not have been worth it, possible without some form of other genetic effect that would be undeirsred. But I'm just guessing it wasn't worth it. Their whole philosophy about life was that there is a fine line between what you can control, and the randomness of the universe as a whole that you can't.
