Those Sims 1 jams, I never get tired of them. They were designed to be listened to for many many hours - and after over 20 years, I'm still nowhere near tired of them.
Your criticism of not knowing when events trigger is actually a reason I've liked farming games since playing Harvest Moon 64. I like slowly building up everyone's affection and randomly running into events as I run around doing chores 😊
I agree. I also love playing that way. But since its kind of her job she probably lacks the time to play this way since she probably got loads of games to play i guess? 🤷🏼♀️
Actually, they did add few things and fixed bugs that included memories event. They added Hell Mode, Marriage event, Character story, more scenes, and couple DLCs. They also change crafting system ,so you now can do craft even at higher level without getting killed like I mean crafting is much easier than original. I love RF/HM series and Stardew Valley, Maybe I will try few more farming games after I once I get Steam Deck 2 and Switch 2.
Roots of Pacha is hands down my favorite game of the last year. The characters are very loveable imo. I really hope this doesn’t turn anyone down from playing it :(
I have always believed that A Wonderful Life is definitely NOT for everyone. It can be such a needlessly obtuse and bizarre experience. So I don’t blame you at all for bouncing. I agree with a lot of your other remarks too, at least for the games I’ve played. In particular, Doraemon SoS is SUCH a gorgeous game to look at it, but it’s very slow to start, and it loses steam after a while and becomes a slog. I will say that I love Harvestella though. It caught me completely by surprise how much I fell in love with the characters and the surprising amount of humor. Plus the story just gets absolutely bonkers. But I admit that the combat is a letdown. Very simplistic, which is unfortunate in a game that is like 75% RPG, 25% farm sim. Absolutely respect all your opinions, and would love to see more content like this! ❤
sakuna of rice and ruin is a fantastic rice farming game, it has a yearly rice harvest where you manage water level, temp, weeds, pests and fertilizer. plus 2d sidescrolling action rpg to gather materials
totally agree... I married Lumina because I thought she was cute and in the second year they changed her design and I stopped liking her, plus she is boring, I abandoned the game in the third year because there were no new events, only the usual repeated festivals and the gameplay seemed very repetitive to me
I guess those of us who played the hell out of the original A Wonderful Life and/or Another Wonderful Life can only truly appreciate the remake, with the exception of the changes they made of course, like Cody not being Cody and not being buff either lol or Griffin now being Gavin, or the fact it's called Forgotten Valley instead of Forget-Me-Not Valley lol
Even before the remake was announced, I usually would tell people that the original Wonderful Life isn’t a game that I would recommend to beginners and only major HM fans. I always thought it was boring and haven’t bought AWL , which is surprising for me since I’m a huge fan.
That’s how I felt with the Diamond and Pearl remakes. I remembered it being a decent region but, after trying my hand years later with the remake, it didn’t hit the same.
Ohhh it was the Same for me with AWL. I loved playing it when I was young and kept it in mind as one of my favourite games, but after 10/15h it was just boring for me :(
@@anthonynonoya4486 Yeah, it’s probably one of my least favorite regions. I think the lore of the legendaries is cool but that’s about all I remember from it.
I agree with the trigger systems. I personally also hate games that are unclear with what you should do. I tried SDV 5 times but I can't get into it. It tells you nothing.. no hints no direction... stores that are always closed when you need them XD
God Marnie is so many peoples enemies because she is never there!! And you usually only go to her when you are out of fodder 😭 my poor animals have definitely starved a day or two because of her and her lack of being there.
Omg you pretty much listed every single game I was sort of interested in/on the fence about getting. Thanks for validating that I don’t actually need them 😅
Respect to you for being honest. I'm more likely to believe a streamer that is capable of being open about their preferences and experiences. I don't necessarily agree with every single game you mentioned, but I can appreciate your reasoning and tastes. Thank you for being authentic. I also like reading the comments of others about their own experiences with games. We tend to want to be positive and justify our purchases, so it's nice to come clean and admit what didn't live up to the hype. For me, lately, it's Palia; and No Place Like Home.
Oh my, it took me 9 minutes before I realized where the soundtrack was from!! And I 100% agree, I don't enjoy many games most of people did enjoy and I barely share it with someone, because I feel almost ashamed that I don't like these "works of art!". I think that no matter how good the game is (based on reviews), the only important thing is for you to enjoy it. I mean, are we really going to pretend for maybe even hundreds of hours that we are into something that we don't even like? Time is too precious to waste it on stuff like these.
YES!! I totally hear where you are coming from with the motion sickness. I have the same issue. You talking about it is acctually super helpful feedback.
Lmao I laughed so hard at the beginning. I really appreciate you are honest with your content and reviews. If someone unsubscribes from you due to not agreeing with games you like or dont like, that is just silly. Everyone has their own opinions for goodness sakes. I really love your videos!
Biggest regret for me was probably Rune Factory 5 on Switch 😢 I wanted to get into it but the amount of performance issues that never got adressed totally pulled me out of this game, similar to Pokemon Violent btw SIMS 2 soundtrack LETSGOO
I totally get that. I want to keep playing but between the grinding, performance issues, and the occasional requests with vague instructions I had to put it down for a while. I think there’s more good than bad for me in the story and mechanics but it isn’t a game I can binge through.
THANK YOU for calling out My Time at Portia! I felt like I was the only freaking person on the planet that was disgusted by their lack of work on the Switch Port.
To be fair the devs didn't do the Switch port ,they outsourced it to another company and that company did a piss poor job and at that point they already spent the money and decided to put it on the Switch and hope for the best.
I tried Portia initially on the switch and enjoyed it, but I soon got frustrated with the game constantly crashing. The loading times were painful. I have drift issues with my joy cons, so that was another frustrating issue. I have since played it on the Xbox and it was a way better experience.
Had the same sentiment for Roots of Pacha. Bought it mainly to play a different farming theme but the number of NPC in the game was too much for my brain to keep tabs on. Even the cave puzzles was not something I enjoyed yet, I like it for what it is and the unique stuff it has.
For me, having many villagers wasn't an issue, but the repetitive gameplay just makes it feel like a chore. I'm still going to play it to see where it goes, but already after first season it feels like there's too much rinse and repeat going on.
for me, after playing my time at sandrock, it was SO hard to get back to portia. i love the story and the characters so much, but the mechanics were so clunky when i tried playing again. i agree with what you said about portia on the switch. i started on the switch, and playing on pc afterwards was such a breath of fresh air. everything ran infinitely better. i also got really frustrated with the trigger events in rune factory 4. the fact that it could be really difficult to unlock an entire arc of the story was a bit off putting, but at least the wiki was helpful. i'm still mixed on how to feel about the crafting systems (for both 4 and 5). i feel like i would enjoy it more if the hidden mechanics of crafting were explained more in depth since it does seem like you need to know them in order to finish the full story/game in both. i will say, i liked the story of 4 a lot more than 5, but i do think 5 has the better characters by far. i'm very excited to see what the next two rune factory games come up with. personally, games i regret buying are roots of pacha, kynseed, and the more recent story of seasons games. i just can't get into them for whatever reason, and i don't feel like forcing myself to get past the first couple of hours in any of them.
i tried a wonderful life and it was bad enough that i got a refund on it. it really did not age well and they should not have remade it lol. i'd rather see an Animal Parade remake, because that game was freaking legendary.
Hilariously, Rune Factory 5 is me of those games for me. It made me like and appreciate 4 even more. Though I had a similar reaction to you with Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility. Like it was fine, but the Animal Parade came out and I was like “Oh, this is just SO much better” that it made me like ToT way less. Others that come to mind for me are Calico and Cozy Grove. They both seemed cute and had some good ideas, but I just ended up being bored.
I’m glad I saw this because I’ve heard nothing but good things about RF5 and I’ve never played any RF games. So I just assumed it’s a game I need to buy. But I’m going to do more research and review reading and compare them with 4.
I liked Pioneers of Olive Town quite a lot but A Wonderful Life was too much repetitive, kinda lacking something… all that seems to be motivating is the story and none of the characters has interested me enough to keep playing too
I definately regret getting Story of Seasons its a wonderful life - i cannot get past the first year. It is sooo boring. My first Story of Seasons was Friends of Pioneer Town and there was sooo much to do! I thought when developers remake a game, they upgrade not just the graphics but also the gameplay? It’s a wonderful life feels like it was made for a 4 year old to play
I don't know the ins and outs of a remake vs. remaster but I would assume quality of life elements are added in (which were added in AWL Remake). However, I doubt that a remake adds that much a variety of gameplay mechanics
agreed. I usually borrow my games from my library first to see if I like it. I loved pioneers of olive town to buy it myself. then I tried it's a wonderful life and I was bored too
I really wanted to like the doraemon one since I LOVE the art style 😞 sadly, I never liked both games. Thank god there’s a demo for them for the switch
Love the honesty :) I regret buying Grow: song of the Evertree, I could not get into it ; I loved the first few hours of Garden Paws but got bored quite quickly, both a bit of motion sickness too
LOVE the music in the background, giving me flashbacks to when I was a kid. The most recent game I regret buying was Everdream Valley on PS5. I was bored within 10 minutes and put it down and haven't touched it since. I was super disappointed I paid full price for it and can't get a refund for it. Oh well, that's what I get for getting it on day 1 instead of waiting for a sale like I usually do (and by then more reviews would have been out for it too)
I love Doraemon SOS! I agree about the trigger system, but ngl, half the time I ignore that stuff and just farm 😂😭 part of me wonders how I poured 70 hours into Doraemon SoS without actively trying to progress the story hahah I did end up progressing as I went but just by chance. The newest entry fixed the control problem and while there are still trigger events (cause it’s still SoS hah), the story is a lot more clear. Whenever you need to progress, you get the cutscene usually first thing in the morning telling you what needs to happen. There are lots of QOL changes and more accessible prices for customizing! Maybe watch some gameplay and see 😄
Funny that I’m finding this video just after I finished Harvestella since I’m looking for information on the next game I might pick up. I quite enjoyed Harvestella but it does take a good bit for it to pick up steam and the combat does get fairly repetitive, there are a wide variety of classes to pick but you do have to grind up each individually so if you don’t like the grind it will discourage job experimentation. Despite its flaws I still enjoyed it quite a bit but i know it’s not for everyone.
I had issues with My Time At Portia on the switch as well. Plus the graphics seemed to have been downgraded for performance, and there's no voice acting. However, for anyone interested on a better console port, I recommend the PS4 version. The graphics are like PC, and there's voice acting!
Thank you so much for sharing your opinion. Really helps saving some lil money or lower expectations or just expectation since we all different, loved your deep explications
I also quit My Time at Portia on the Switch. The frame rate was so low it was barely moving. I think this was the first game I actually gave up on because of frame rate. I’m not too sensitive to it as long as it’s moving along. Less than 60 fps? I don’t care. 30 fps? Fine. 20? Ok. Portia moved at about 2. I also saw people saying they had no problem but I can’t see how it runs so differently on the same system but they must have had really good luck!
I didn't enjoy my time in portia, I found the controls/camera annoying and the map hard to follow 😅 everyone has different taste, that's why there are different games and style
I couldn't agree more with your opinion on Harvestella and Doreamon!! Thankfully there was a free trial for Harvestella since I really wanted to love it but I am glad I didn't waste my money. The combat ruined it for me.
i put hundreds of hours and filled multiple memorycards for a wonderful life and was so excited for the remake, but when i actually got to play it it felt over sanitized and "cutiefied". it was stripped of all the charm and things that made it stand out in the first place and made it feel like a chore to play.
Totally respect your opinions and I agree with your take on SoS AWL. I will say that the first year is the most hectic and busy for me, I went in wanting to make a 'perfect' year 1 save so that I can go back to it to get respective husbands. Meaning that getting money and getting prepared in year 2 is a lot. Then yeah year 2 is fun, but dear lord by year 3 and on the game is a slog. And a big portion is nothing new gets added, no new festivals, your spouse basically says the same 2 lines till you die and just felt lacking. You'll get the occasional villager mentioning your child or relationship but that is it. And it really dulls my exp as a whole, even if I had fun in year 1-2, how it drags on sours it. So far SoS games have been lacking in that dialogue department which is crazy when I see things like SoS Trio of Towns have so much dialogue to throw at you. I just miss it.
Harvestella does have a dodge mechanic, but you have to unlock it from the skill page Been a while since I played but once you do you hit LZ button and dash in the direction you're facing to move past incoming attacks.
I actually was weary about the Wonderful Life remake and chose to wait. I remembered that while the original was one of my first farming games, I had issues with it. Then I got Harvest Moon DS and let’s just say, I got really tired of the Valley and characters at this point so I really don’t have a big sentimental attachment. For me, a cozy game I regret was actually Story of Seasons Pioneers due to a lot of reasons. Maybe Rune Factory 5 but that could be I just haven’t played enough of it. I have a couple of the games on your lists but I wouldn’t say I regret getting the games, I just haven’t played them very much as other games took my attention (Coral Island and Sun Haven being my biggest). I will say though that I really wish I get more fantasy farming games but with less rpg. What I mean is lets have the magic and different races of Rune Factory and Sun Haven, but without the whole World saving, lives at stake quests/storylines and more of just creating the farm, building up relationships, et cetra. I also am a little sick of Rune Factory Amnesia plot and would like more games that use art styles graphic of Coral Island and Palia instead of pixel art, which threw me off of Stardew and Mine Craft if I am honest (even though I like Sun Haven and Roots of Pacha). But that is just me.
Roots of pacha is great! I'm waiting for it to be on Switch,so I can play it again 😅 Also I love RF 4 and Rune factory 3 od Ds, will deff. buy it on Switch; but I never liked 3D farming games like RF 5 ( too much space, small decorations, too vibrant colors, but will give it a try again soon. Frontiers was okay though), Harvest Moon for PSP ( also I could never get into any HM game, quickly running out of stamina, lack of things to do besides watering crops and talking to people + I felt it was preeetty tedious and slow to rise friendship points with characters, even Rune factory 1, movement being sluggish like in HM games, was more enjoyable 😅 )
@@zombiedoq Everyone has their own preferences and it’s not like I dislike 2D games per say, I think it just depends on how the pixels art was done, but like I said I am just starting Roots of Pacha and I do like it and Sun Haven.
Oh thank God. Finally I find someone who doesn't like roots of pacha. The clock went crazy fast and it was difficult to socialise and fulfill all the goals at once
Speaking as someone who is VERY nostalgic for the gc version (It was actually my favorite for a very long time), I agree with you on SoS AWL remake. I thought it was watered down and they focused too much on making the models "cute" style. That took away from the experience of a more realistic type of simulator that I enjoyed on the gamecube. Seriously, that horse model is all levels of wrong in my opinion
Girl, I feel you on a lot of these. I couldn't get into Hokko Life at all. I'm trying with Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life...I keep thinking maybe I need to play it more. Harvestella could had been more. You like whatever you like and not everyone is going to like the same thing.
I couldn't agree more with your feeling about AWL. I wanted so bad to love it but I think I made it a week in game before just never wanting to open it again. Really the only game I'm not on the same page with you would be Roots of Pacha. Not a perfect game by any means but the characters and setting have really grabbed my heart. It has become one of my absolute favorite cozy games. Thanks for the great content as always.
Thanks for the interesting video! It's always nice to have a "in the end what did I think of it" insight on games :D Hmm, I actually played My Time in Portia on the Switch quite a while back and loved it, though yeah it's was pretty buggy/clunky haha But I was totally hooked. I didn't get any motion sickness, but I guess not everyone gets motion sickness for the same reasons, for me it's mostly first person view that triggers it, and perhaps playing it on TV helped?
When it came out, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life had lots fair share of haters. It is a very slow game with limited content, when compared to Stardew Valley and the current batch of farming sims. Yes, the dialogue with the townsfolk gets repetitive quickly. Yes, the mining aspect is very limited. Yes, getting new recipes was a frickin' pain in the butt. Yes, it was hard to romance any of the bachelorettes that was not Celia. For me, though, it was great, because it did what a cozy game needed to for me: calm me down after a stressful day at work to the point that I can go to bed. It also had an ending, which at the time, was something that I wanted. I haven't played the SoS remake yet, but it will be interesting to see if it holds up to my nostalgic memories. I agree with you about a number of other games you mentioned. I kept failing the first big boss fight in Harvestella, and instead of trying to "get gud," I just stopped playing the game. The Roots of Pacha demo didn't grab me. Most of the Story of Seasons games take a while to grow on me, but I also never triggered any of the Doraemon events, likely because they were linked to villagers that I didn't normally talk to. None of those games, though, could compare to Wild Season, which was billed as a farming sim where the town did not want you around. It was sorta billed as Harvest Moon meets Twin Peaks. It was getting a lot of hype, but the developer was slow in getting the first beta together. During one of those delays, Stardew Valley premiered. As you might guess, the developer gave up on the game, and a lot of Kickstarter backers were not happy. That took the crown for the worst farming sim I wish I had never bought.
My #1 regret is Brookhaven and I'm so glad that it's not just me feeling this way now, bless you Miss Bubbles I really really try to love it for the same reason that you mentioned, but it's so unplayable for me especially on the control department.. When I mentioned this on discord I got dissed because it's a "me" problem due to how badly I am confused on how to play with the early on control in the game.. (just to clarify with KB+m not controller) So I waited for patches and updates and give it another go and it still the same.. I'm at a point where I can't even refund it and I hate the fact that it gives an achievement on the start of new game after they implement achievements so now it forever tainted my overall achievements progress % as well...
A wonderful life i agree isnt for everyone. But im 32 and it was my first harvest moon/story of seasons game. So it got me into the farming sims and is my most fave game as i love the slow paced game and relationships as well as unlocking scenes and aging while seeing my child grow. It holds a special place in my heart and always will as my fave. Im glad u gave the game a try at least
I loved this video! I really appreciate how you described the things you disliked - very good criticism imo. :D You’ve earned a subscriber! Most of these were ones i passed on too. I had basically the same opinions on all if these. The biggest regret for me with Hokko Life was when the animal characters were changed. I bought it in early access, trusting what i had heard that they would be changed again… but ugh, they are so uncanny to me.
Thanks for saving me some money 😂. I was on the fence about most on list. Especially SOS: AWL. So for every rough comment there's one like this don't worry. Also, I played Portia on Ps5 and it was far better , if that's an option for you.
I tried so, so hard to play the original It's a Wonderful Life, and I managed to get a few solid years in, but Lord, the days are SO slow. I like the environment and the characters, Murray is a peak Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons gift to this earth, but they gave you way too much time. Mooi.
I'm scared of buying games only to not play them after not liking them so I completely understand why you'd regret buying them. One of these farming games I personally don't like is SOS: Pioneers of Olive Town. Its very similar to Doraemon where how to trigger a cut scene and being stuck on wiki but its also not much plot or lore. I had more questions about the game then I had time to enjoy it and it just felt too vague of everything. And while I'm a loyal RF fan, I completely understand why you found RF4 boring. I'm stuck on this game and while I desperately want to play 5, I want to finish 4 so I don't have to play it ever again. Once I'm done, I'm definitely playing RF5! To Miss Bubbles: Love your videos and explanations! It's nice to see honest opinions and factual points to the games that while fun, has some not-so-great- features. I hope you stay safe and continue reviewing and playing even more fun games!
It would be more helpful if you made a list of each game in the description. It's tedious to go back n forth through your video trying to catch you saying the name of each game 😩 Bt your video was nice and helpful to know which games dnt play well on the Switch. I dnt have money to waste so thank you❣️
Working on something to address this while still keeping watch time high cause chapters really impacted my channel growth and made it suffer. Stay tuned ☺️
Personally, I love RF4 but I can see how it's not for everyone. Oddly enough I picked up RF5 as well but couldn't get into it... though I want to give it another chance. I just think its cuz Farming sims tend to start slow. RF is easily becoming one of my favorite game series so I can't wait to pick up the new games they have in store. Esp the project dragon spin off. I love Eastern Fantasy in general so I can't wait for that one to come out. The graphics and art style for that one are beautiful as well.
Wow, our tastes are very similar. I couldn't get into Doraemon SOS, Rune Factory 4, or Hokko Life either for the same reasons (except Rune Factory 4 was my first game in the series). I also love My Time at Portia, but I only bought it for the Switch. As laggy as it was, I enjoyed the hell out of it at the time because I was so desperate for a game to give me something that I wasn't getting from Animal Crossing New Horizons (the whole reason I bought my Switch!).
hi! Im SO glad to talked about motion sickness on the switch. my bf gifted me temtem on the switch and i absolutely cant play it because it gives me a headache and makes me feel dizzy. its a shame and i hope more people would talk about it😭
I've seen a meme recently that said: "Fighting on the internet is similar to a turn based combat" So let the battles begin, shall we?! 🤣 lol just kidding... Let's stay civil!
I agree with you on A wonderful Life. It just wasn't for me. I have Harvestella with 96 hours into it. I agree with a lot things you said but I still enjoy playing it. As for the combat, if I get to a point I can't get past, I have my son do it for me. (Cheating I know lol) Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town and Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town both where a disappointment to me. After playing Story of Seasons Trio of Towns on the Switch I was looking forward to these 2 games. The graphics felt chunky. I couldn't get into the story lines. The games just didn't fit me for some reason. Not everyone is gonna like every game that has been made. It's nice to know why you don't like and game and see it from your point of view like Harvestella. I just found you on RUclips and I've been enjoying your videos. I really like how you start with the "wonderful human being". And you end with stay Bubbly. 😄
You should try Story Of Season Doraemon Friends of Great Kingdom, is practically same game but much more linear way to do everything. Lots of QoL improvement too, basically what you complained about where to go to trigger event, they show it on the map. Try this one instead of the first one. You will enjoy it! The color palette is absolutely amazing as you said
Garden paws just isn't enough for me, to repetitive . Another game I DESPISE is Frog Island, that game doesn't tell you ANYTHING you don't know what to do, at least I didn't. Plus the character is so hard to control
nice video bubbz and love the honesty. i still like harvestella a lot even though i haven't played in a while , but i can see why you stopped playing. 😂😂
Id love for them to make more games like Harvestella actually! Great content as always and i see you alrafy have deployed the shield wall for reactions. 😂
I've only ever played the harvest moon games, not played any other farming games and for the modern ones, I only played Olive Town. I thought it was ok, Olive Town and Mineral Town are both free on the PSN catalog so I technically did not buy them. Mineral Town is really grindy for the trophies, the cook all recipes trophy is a big pain in the butt. Ive not played a wonderful life, but I hate all the bachelors, no one good looking like Raegar, Kamil etc.... so I don't have motivation to get it, especially as the game forces you to get married but then doesn't give you any nice bachelors...
4:55 The start is really slow and the combat is meh but the story really hook me up in the end 12:23 I had a good time with this game. You can enjoy a "bad game" and you can have a bad time with a "good game" as long as you can have fun with a game it's the best outcome since you paid for it and free time/ spare time is limited.
Thanks for sharing your opinions Miss Bubbles! I had tried a lot of games in my young life and there was some I was surprised I didn’t care for like Miitopia and I appreciate your honesty! 🌸
I adore this kind of feedback because even if you love a game, knowing its flaws and knowing it isn't always the best is important. I STAND FIRM on my claim that Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the, if not the best, Final Fantasy game, but even I can admit it had SOOoooo many problems despite my praise. I also love Harvestella, but what you said is soooooo right. SE poured in some decent effort, but played it way too safe.. Maybe which ever team developed it got a bit too scared if they went all out it might have been a flop, so they wanted to play it safe and just give it a run, but I really do think if they had went ALL OUT. The farming, the combat, voice acting, customization, all of it. If they had drowned that damn game in their usual SE BS, I think it could have been a fantastic new IP of theirs... Here is to hoping those who liked the game enough will help them realize they have some gold here if they would just stop fucking around and polish it. Maybe make a Harvestella 2, but its everything you want and expect out of a actual Square Enix title.
Stardew Valley is totally not playable without doing a ton of google search. And even with a ton of google search, you still need to make unnecessary mistakes because the game never tells you many important things, like Marnie will visit the doctor on the second last Friday of Fall. So, I ended up unable to buy a pig to get truffle before winter comes.
You don't need the wiki to play Stardew Valley (though we all seem to get into the mindset that we need it when we're playing). You only need it if you are doing things like min/maxing or trying to unlock things on a specific timetable-especially in your first playthrough. Not being able to get a truffle before winter doesn't make you unable to play Stardew Valley, it just means you probably didn't get the greenhouse by your first winter. I look plenty of things up too when I want to optimize something, but it's because I'm trying to do something specific rather than play the game at a relaxed pace. For example, the game has things like notes and dialogue to tell me about what items the characters love. If I don't want to wait for those to unlock and I look up a marriage candidate's loved items, it's not because I had no choice or that the game wasn't playable. We humans just love to try to optimize stuff. I'm just about to start a new farm where I make myself actually wait until year 3 to marry a specific character so I can unlock all of his pre-marriage dialogue before marrying him. Maybe I should add a no wiki run after that. 😂
I watched your video on Hokko Life and was wary because I trust your opinion, but I tried it out anyway. It is a small regret. I do not hate it, but I do not love it. I should have waited for a deep sale. Thank you for making these kind of videos. Not every game is super fantastic.
Thank you so much for your honesty and helping me not waste more money. Since steam has only 2 hours for refunds I feel like that is not really enough time to get a good feel for some games to determine if it's for you or not. I definitely agree about Hokko Life the trailer looks good I literally keep trying to give it a chance but since I got the game back in August I still only have 4 hours of game time there is just nothing that pulls me in.
I really appreciate honest reviews. It helps me make up my mind if I would like a game or not. Every game is subject to a players preference, so people should always consider that. I loved rune factory 4 right up until I could not complete a maze and couldn't find how to do it online, so I gave up on it. That was before the fifth one came out. It was a great game, but bad on directions if you got stuck. My regret buys, which will be controversial for some, are sos friends of mineral town and pioneers of olive town. I just didn't find them at all engaging 😅. Got bored really quickly. Another one was Dinkum. Although a great game in a lot of ways, the in your face combat everywhere caused me anxiety (which I do suffer with), so I had to stop playing it. I would not recommend it to anyone who suffers with anxiety and gets triggered by this kind of combat. Thankfully, there are tons of cosy farming games to suit all tastes. Nobody should ever be rude because someone else feels differently about something. We should always respect we are all different and like different things. Reviews that cover all aspects of a game helps me see if something is in it that wouldn't be for me, so thank you for covering so much of so many games. It often saves me making more mistake buys! ❤
I personally wanna see Story of Seasons: Animal Parade remake with quality of life improvements. Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos actually impressed me. I think natsume might be finding their own niche in the farming sim genre. Today I got My Time at Sandrock for PC for Christmas so I'm watching farming sim channels while it installs rn.
My Time at Portia because I did not realize when I bought it there was so much fighting that needed done. I also grew eventually to hate Stardew Valley because I dislike pixel graphics to begin with and those were just ugly, and every update just seemed to make it worse. I also regret buying Kynseed but oddly enough not because of the graphics but that I got it way early on and it's taken several turns I don't care for. As for Garden Paws (one of a handful of purchases I've made on Steam--I've no intention of buying another game through a client that can lock me out of what I paid for) I enjoy it. It's not without its problems--goodness knows how many bugs there are the devs will never fix--but with enough mods I've overall enjoyed it. You spoke of triggering events--yes, I dislike those very much. I'm old and have been playing video games since the 1970s. There have been plenty of guide-dang-its down through the years--frustrating they are.
I totally agree about Hokko life. I really regret buying it. But I love playing Portia on my Switch, Yes the loading time is kinda long and because I stuck with only the Switch, I have to accept it eventually. The story, gameplay, and mechanics made it so much worth it. Can't wait for Sandrock, I just hope it will be better than the port of Portia at least.
@@pearlkelly6337 If you like animal crossing, I think game like Stardew Valley, Wylde Flowers or Yonder might be better choice. There is almost nothing to do in Hokko life and the creation menu is kinda weird because I can't create a lamp for some reasons. I regret buying it on almost full price.
I love rune factory 4 and Harvestella but I can understand they’re not for everyone. I keep trying to enjoy rune factory 5 but I get annoyed about how it runs on switch. However you’re spot on about SOS AWL. I was excited because I played it on GameCube but got bored or followed the wiki so much that it didn’t feel fun anymore.
I was getting motion sickness this video...lol. So I just got Switch: My Universe Green adventure farmer friends. I get motion sickness and cant figure out the game. My favorite farm game is on Facebook. Farm Town. I wish I can find a nice relaxing farm game that wont make me sick. Thank you for a cool video. Just subscribed.
omg garden paws i had the same issue on pc , not the fps drops but how it made me want to throw up , i think it's the camera shake since there is no option to disable it if i remember correctly D: for me harvestella and rune factory 4 are one of the best games i've ever played , but they are definitely not for everyone . and they have a realllly slow start .
I can hear the keyboard warriors, lmao 🤭hope you enjoyed this one, have a bubbly day!🫧

I was shocked to see doremon on your list, 😅
Those Sims 1 jams, I never get tired of them. They were designed to be listened to for many many hours - and after over 20 years, I'm still nowhere near tired of them.
Yesssss! That and Animal Crossing New Leaf soundtracks make me dance hahaha
My older sister got me the complete collection for my 6 (I think) birthday and these songs just feel so warm and cozy to me now.
I had to stop and hum for a while to jolt my memory of the song. Ahhh..I wish the later Sims have awesome music like theSims 1.
I love that you gave all these a fair shot and you’re so open about your experiences with them! 😻🌷
It is hard to choose a game to play because many players rave they are all such amazing games. I regret buying so many games on my Nintendo switch.
Gonna make another list for games I regret buying on the switch haha! There are at least 10 of them :(
Agreed!!
Rune factory 4 special isn’t a remake it’s just a port of the 3DS game, that’s why the graphics look like that
Thanks for letting me know!
Best game 💜
Actually, they did add few things and fixed bugs that included memories event. They added Hell Mode, Marriage event, Character story, more scenes, and couple DLCs. They also change crafting system ,so you now can do craft even at higher level without getting killed like I mean crafting is much easier than original. I love RF/HM series and Stardew Valley, Maybe I will try few more farming games after I once I get Steam Deck 2 and Switch 2.
Roots of Pacha is hands down my favorite game of the last year. The characters are very loveable imo. I really hope this doesn’t turn anyone down from playing it :(
I also love Pacha! The first time I played I couldn’t get into it but after a few months I tried it again and I fell in love!!!
Literally 2 achievements away from 100% it. Just gotta get those darn fish 😂 I love it
I tried it and it greatly surprised me, It has a unique style and the caves are really fun
I was waiting for this game for years... but then this review turned me down.
I love the game, but hate the characters
If only Harvestella had better combat, I would 100% give it another chance. I appreciate you sharing your feeback with me!
sakuna of rice and ruin is a fantastic rice farming game, it has a yearly rice harvest where you manage water level, temp, weeds, pests and fertilizer. plus 2d sidescrolling action rpg to gather materials
Story of Seasons lost me when it told me I had to get married in the first year or leave. I'm sorry, that's not a community, that's a cult.
Omg that game was terrrrible!!!
It's only wonderful life! It was like that on the GameCube too.
Says the liberal
That can't be true.... Right... I'm glad I didn't get it then if that's true
totally agree...
I'm a huge fan of the original wonderful life but after playing the remake I realised I was remembering it through rose tinted glasses!
That’s how I felt with the Diamond and Pearl remakes. I remembered it being a decent region but, after trying my hand years later with the remake, it didn’t hit the same.
Nostalgia can be tricky. That's how it was for me with RF4 until I played Special
I absolutely regret buying this at full price but I never played the original
I demand more content like this 😂 The intro is epic!
I was having a blasssssssst filming this :P
I agree with the trigger systems. I personally also hate games that are unclear with what you should do. I tried SDV 5 times but I can't get into it. It tells you nothing.. no hints no direction... stores that are always closed when you need them XD
SDV is in my 10/10 farming games cause it still kindaa hints you at what to do but I agree, it still lacks a lot of direction
God Marnie is so many peoples enemies because she is never there!! And you usually only go to her when you are out of fodder 😭 my poor animals have definitely starved a day or two because of her and her lack of being there.
what's the main point of farming sims? making money
Time is too precious for us to be living and breathing to force ourselves into playing things we hate!
Thank you 😭😭
Biggest regret for me was probably Rune Factory 5 on Switch 😢 I wanted to get into it but the amount of performance issues that never got adressed totally pulled me out of this game, similar to Pokemon Violent
btw SIMS 2 soundtrack LETSGOO
I totally get that. I want to keep playing but between the grinding, performance issues, and the occasional requests with vague instructions I had to put it down for a while. I think there’s more good than bad for me in the story and mechanics but it isn’t a game I can binge through.
I waited for the game to come to Steam, but I haven't played it yet
I adoreee Rune Factory 5🤭
THANK YOU for calling out My Time at Portia! I felt like I was the only freaking person on the planet that was disgusted by their lack of work on the Switch Port.
To be fair the devs didn't do the Switch port ,they outsourced it to another company and that company did a piss poor job and at that point they already spent the money and decided to put it on the Switch and hope for the best.
I only played it on the switch. Hated it. So I never purchased to try on steam
@@quyenstahh I couldn't get past the terrible voice acting. Honestly Id buy Coral Island twice over instead lol
I tried Portia initially on the switch and enjoyed it, but I soon got frustrated with the game constantly crashing. The loading times were painful. I have drift issues with my joy cons, so that was another frustrating issue. I have since played it on the Xbox and it was a way better experience.
I started portia last week and got 2 crashes already. Shame on the devs they shld patch it.
I stopped playing My Time at Portia because I kept passing out. Time goes by too fast.
Had the same sentiment for Roots of Pacha. Bought it mainly to play a different farming theme but the number of NPC in the game was too much for my brain to keep tabs on. Even the cave puzzles was not something I enjoyed yet, I like it for what it is and the unique stuff it has.
The cave was so annoying but it's also crucial for the story 😭
But I like it because it has many npc tho 😢
Now that i think about it, the cave is pretty annoying, not that i played it. i just watched a Let's play, but the npcs. no No
For me, having many villagers wasn't an issue, but the repetitive gameplay just makes it feel like a chore.
This is the kind of content I like! It helps me decide on which games to play or not to play next. Thanks!
i tried a wonderful life and it was bad enough that i got a refund on it. it really did not age well and they should not have remade it lol. i'd rather see an Animal Parade remake, because that game was freaking legendary.
Same I returned it
I had a different experience with Harvestella. I hated the first couple of chapters and then fell in love with the story on the later half. Lol
I agree! After playing four and completely falling in love with the story and characters, RF5 felt so disappointing. 😔
I finally found someone who had a horrible experience with my Time At Portia on switch, I literally couldn't play it :(
Love the honesty :) I regret buying Grow: song of the Evertree, I could not get into it ; I loved the first few hours of Garden Paws but got bored quite quickly, both a bit of motion sickness too
I appreciate videos like this! There's nothing worse than paying for a game that's been hyped up by everyone else and then just..... Hating it.
You think there is something wrong with you when that happens lmao
LOVE the music in the background, giving me flashbacks to when I was a kid.
The most recent game I regret buying was Everdream Valley on PS5. I was bored within 10 minutes and put it down and haven't touched it since. I was super disappointed I paid full price for it and can't get a refund for it. Oh well, that's what I get for getting it on day 1 instead of waiting for a sale like I usually do (and by then more reviews would have been out for it too)
I was jumping all day, dancing to The Sims music yesterday lmao
Thank you for sharing your experience with Everdream Valley!
I agree with Hoko Life it is the only game I regret buying, and I was really hoping it would get better, so in the end I had it too long to return it.
Everdream Valley should be mention and need more awareness...
I didn't enjoy my time in portia, I found the controls/camera annoying and the map hard to follow 😅 everyone has different taste, that's why there are different games and style
Omg I disliked "my time at Portia" to! I tried to like it but I just couldn't get into it. And weird but while playing I always got motion sickness
Hokko Life is the closest thing that us PS4/PS5 users have to Animal crossing.
I am glad I watch this video. I thought about Harvestella but fighting is the element I dislike the most in my farming cozy games.
The sims 1 buy mode theme in the background! Gives me nostalgia i miss playing that game❤❤😢😢
I know right?😭😭
Oh thank God.
100%!
It's always nice to have a "in the end what did I think of it" insight on games :D
Hmm, I actually played My Time in Portia on the Switch quite a while back and loved it, though yeah it's was pretty buggy/clunky haha But I was totally hooked. I didn't get any motion sickness, but I guess not everyone gets motion sickness for the same reasons, for me it's mostly first person view that triggers it, and perhaps playing it on TV helped?
I'm enjoying your rant so much! 😂
I hope you review ova magica when it comes out, really fits your channel and it looks promising!
My #1 regret is Brookhaven and I'm so glad that it's not just me feeling this way now, bless you Miss Bubbles
I really really try to love it for the same reason that you mentioned, but it's so unplayable for me especially on the control department..
When I mentioned this on discord I got dissed because it's a "me" problem due to how badly I am confused on how to play with the early on control in the game.. (just to clarify with KB+m not controller)
So I waited for patches and updates and give it another go and it still the same.. I'm at a point where I can't even refund it and I hate the fact that it gives an achievement on the start of new game after they implement achievements so now it forever tainted my overall achievements progress % as well...
There is definitely passive aggressive behaviour on their Discord. It's sad to see that they are still treating players that way!
😂😂😂 gotta love positive people. Youre one on the more positive channels out there so seeing ya frown made me chuckle
I just don't have it in me lololol
I loved this video! I really appreciate how you described the things you disliked - very good criticism imo. :D
You’ve earned a subscriber!
Most of these were ones i passed on too. I had basically the same opinions on all if these. The biggest regret for me with Hokko Life was when the animal characters were changed. I bought it in early access, trusting what i had heard that they would be changed again… but ugh, they are so uncanny to me.
Welcome aboard!
You're too kind🥺💜
oh my :D. I was so excited for Harvestella. But I ended up returning it on Steam. So - agreed, Harvestella was a disappointment
I personally liked the AWL remake, but to be fair I didn’t like the original. I have them still, but they just aren’t that great.
As laggy as it was, I enjoyed the hell out of it at the time because I was so desperate for a game to give me something that I wasn't getting from Animal Crossing New Horizons (the whole reason I bought my Switch!).
hi! Im SO glad to talked about motion sickness on the switch. my bf gifted me temtem on the switch and i absolutely cant play it because it gives me a headache and makes me feel dizzy. its a shame and i hope more people would talk about it😭
It's insane that it's rarely mentioned in videos!
I had the same experience with Portia on switch. I bought it during the sale, but still wasted money due to it’s unplayability.
I've seen a meme recently that said: "Fighting on the internet is similar to a turn based combat"
So let the battles begin, shall we?!
(Cheating I know lol)
Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town and Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town both where a disappointment to me.
The color palette is absolutely amazing as you said
Will watch some gameplay and maybe give it a chance then!
I saw a lot of people complaining that they had emotion sickness with My Time At Portia
Garden paws just isn't enough for me, to repetitive . Another game I DESPISE is Frog Island, that game doesn't tell you ANYTHING you don't know what to do, at least I didn't. Plus the character is so hard to control
I appreciate your opinion, I know which game to avoid.
nice video bubbz and love the honesty. i still like harvestella a lot even though i haven't played in a while , but i can see why you stopped playing.
4:55 The start is really slow and the combat is meh but the story really hook me up in the end
12:23 I had a good time with this game.
I disagree with you on Rune Factory 4... Isn't that GREAT! I mean honestly, if we agreed on everything the world would be so terribly boring.
I NEED TO BLOCK YOU OMG
@@MissBubbles Oh no!
I was thinking of getting Hokko Life on Switch and your opinion helped me a lot. Think I might give it a pass.
Comments from 7.25mins in. You nailed it! Right on!

I bought hokko life but not got stuck into yet cos someone told me if I like animal crossing I'd like hokko life
@@pearlkelly6337 If you like animal crossing, I think game like Stardew Valley, Wylde Flowers or Yonder might be better choice.
Just subscribed.
omg garden paws i had the same issue on pc , not the fps drops but how it made me want to throw up , i think it's the camera shake since there is no option to disable it if i remember correctly D:
for me harvestella and rune factory 4 are one of the best games i've ever played , but they are definitely not for everyone . and they have a realllly slow start .
Ouf had no idea it was bad for others on PC (Garden Paws). Did you try messing with the camera settings?
@@MissBubbles yes , unfortunately i couldn't find an option to stop the camera from being wobbly D:
