    I'm a long-term having to learn UFLI on the fly. I appreciate this. The UFLI videos they put out are just long and blah blah blah eduspeak eduspeak, blah blah.

    Thank you for the lesson. We are using UFLI the virtual blending board is free and makes making words and changing sounds quick! It was a game changer. It under UFLI apps. It allows you to pick the letters you need as well.

    I really appreciate the model! I am a little bit confused about the PA portion. Does UFLI actually break apart the ng and attach the n to the vowel vs the g? Maybe I am just mishearing the modeling teacher but I hear h-un-g, g-un-g, s-w-un-g in the pounding routine as she does it. Is it supposed to be that way?

    • @kaitlinpbehn
      @kaitlinpbehn  6 месяцев назад

      The /ŋ/ sound is together. It may be hard to differentiate when using connected phonation but the vowel sounds are separated!

    Great job! Not sure about the wh. Sounds like you are saying oooo or who. wh is voiceless.

    • @kaitlinpbehn
      @kaitlinpbehn  5 дней назад

      @@debranelson944 thanks for the feedback! In my dialect there is a hardly a distinction between the pronunciation of wh and w. Holly Lane refers to it as the “whine/wine merger” when the word wine and whine sound identical. She shares that, “In their traditional pronunciations, /w/ is a voiced sound and /wh/ is an unvoiced sound, however that distinction has been lost across the vast majority of English speakers and most use the voiced /w/ for both phonemes.”
      It is really cool that language is constantly changing!

    First of all, you are amazing! Our school district is implementing UFLI, and watching you has eased my anxiety. I love the pound and sound. Why is it that "a" says /a/ and "th" spells /th/? What is the difference in the wording says and spells?

    Thank you for modeling a lesson! I really needed to wrap my head around the flow since I’m new to the UFLI format. You did a great job and I definitely have a better understanding of what each part should look like now. 😃
    Can we talk about the pronunciation of ng though? Adding the “guh” sound at the end? The following is a great video to hear what I’m talking about. ruclips.net/video/1jyB1K7UYic/видео.htmlsi=IQYDbFGvNXAp2lRh
