Hi, we are considering renting a private boat instead of taking water taxis to go from to town. Did you dock/moor/anchor your rental and go into any towns or did you stay out on the water for your allotted 8 hours? If you did use a docking/mooring service, do you mind providing your experience with that and the costs of it? Thanks!
Hi! After renting your own boat, are you able to dock in other ports for a bit and grab a quick bite or drink? Or do you only get to dock in and out of the area you rented your boat from??? Thanks !
I know some companies have ports you can dock in at Capri for extra charge! Positano doesn’t have anything like that, everyone just anchors a bit off the beaches. I would talk to whatever company you plan on using to see if they have porting options! When are you planning to go? It also depends on season!

Is it necessary to book the boat in advance or did you just show up on their stand the day you wanted to have the boat?
We booked in advance through trip advisor because it was a busy time of year, but I have heard you are able to walk the marina and find rentals the day of

How did you find boating alone? Was there any times you felt unsafe?
The seas were rough on the far side of Capri, but nothing we couldn't handle!
How long did you rent the boat for (total cost?)?
We rented for 8 hrs and it was $390CAD
You can rent a boat privately?? We did a group tour, it didn't look as fun...
The private boat was so cool. But the one thing is we didn't know all the best snorkeling spots like the locals do.
