What we saw at the Capitol last week wasn't the beginning of something.
It was a funeral. For white supremacy. For patriarchy. For the unearned privilege of being the default.
It will be a long funeral. But it's a funeral.

I sure hope that it was the death nail to White supremacy. We need to focus on the evils of Capitalism and create a real, true progressive movement. The labor organizing in the 1930s(Congress of Industrial Organizations) and the Civil rights Malcolm and Martin. We need a Labor theory of value focus on the production of labor and what happens to the surplus and who decides how that surplus is spent.

If you run. they'll get you from behind, no mercy. If you stand you'll cause them to think you must be one of them and pass you by. America must pay complete reparations the people who were enslaved in America, and their descendants #ADOS. Because The only real answer to poverty, (closing the Black/white racial wealth gap) and educational disparities, police brutality, health disparities and anti-African American racism, is complete reparations for #ADOS, American Descendants of Slavery. A mult-generational Reparations bill must include but not limited to, $17 to $18 trillion dollars in cash payments. Along with land and a 400 year Marshall plan for ADOS, and with complete government/federal protections and more.

Ty Dr. West for such a great introduction, I am so ready for this conversation with Rev. Barber. My heart always leans toward poverty, Dr. Barber what an incredible perspective. I am so heightened by your amazing analysis. Trump is a symptom how many times are the oppressor praised by the oppressed. I am so so happy to hear someone talking about poor people. Immediately I thought of Reagan, Dr. Barber my mother worked for VISTA and Reagan destroyed all of the gains of the 60s and 70s. I remember the way we all worked together in communities of poverty I swear Dr. BARBER I have been thinking about the way that they used race to actually hurt all the poor. They knew that there is a whole lot more poor whites. Sorry for the long comment but I am so drawn to this conversation not only because of my childhood memories but also because I have deeply believed that God meant for us to embrace people's of poverty. The answers to gun violence in my small southern home town is related to this conversation. I worked under a contract to do community liaison work and community outreach for seniors and another time for early intervention 0-3yrs old. Not only have we all been tricked into racial discourse but we have also been poisoned 🤢 by industrial and chemical works or dumps in our communities. I will tell you with certainty that there is a direct developmental impact on our babies. There is definitive evidence of patterns of autism and other developmental disabilities in patterns that are directly related to exposure. How many people of color were already dying from odd cancers and lukemias before covid-19. I have seen these developmental and neurologic impacts in multiple demographics and we were already sick. Thank you @TheTightRope. ✌️👏👏👏🤔🙇🙇🙇🙇

This group of fine people are still considered the "Left", by political definition. And although I do not
hear any of the "Black Lives Matter" hate-speech and lies and smears to create hate in the black
community, they will not be taken seriously, until they denounce BLM marxists who are trying to
create a race-war for the communist revolution. Ten minutes research shows BLM propaganda about
      the police is utterly false.
We heard no mention here of the BILLIONS in property damage, five cops killed in Dallas, arson,
looting and murder from BLM hate rhetoric.
Don't ask why the right wing militias are galvanizing, as we speak. YOU told them they were under
attack and now they are imitating the Left in Ferguson and Baltimore.
Until each side calls out their own, no one will listen. Al Sharpton literally got Jews killed after
spewing one anti-Semitic remark after another and all we saw was the Democrats praise him and
      MSNBC give him a platform.
So, it actually took twenty-years of identity-politics foolishness to discover that poor white people
exist? That abandoning the class message of FDR with Jesse Jackson's hate-speech telling poor
whites their pain didn't matter, because they were "privileged", was dumber than cornflakes?
We could have had free-market social-democracy in America YEARS AGO, if we didn't fall for the
race hustler's con-game. Ta Nahesi Coates, Eric Dyson and Sharpton all need the "victim" industry
to stay profitable, to sell their "victim" books and bamboozle you blind, so NOTHING CHANGES.

My education has given me a deeper appreciation for the dull and aching pain that must have plagued Baldwin and Hughes as artists. I am holding strong to the chosen commitment comes by default of using the tool of an unblinking eye of the camera. By design the camera cannot lie. I have learned over the decades since film, when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. I need to be clear. I am 50 and love to read Non-Fiction history. I have a master's degree and try to read 50 to 70 books a year.
I know nearly nothing about reconstruction. Nothing. I went to public school in a rural area without a single black student in my school in any grade K-12.
I remember when in school that I was frustrated that we always jumped from the Civil War to the 1920s and the precursor of the Great Depression. It never once occurred to me that it was not an accident or because nothing happened during that time.
Thank you for your openness to share in a way that allows me to learn. I am trying to make up for my failure. I've been stalking Dr. West and I am so thankful for his willingness to put his support into any project that puts up the truth.
The light on the mountain is finally showing me the truth. My kids won't be able to claim ignorance. I'm using this Covid quarantine to fill in what they are learning in history.

I have little confidence that we can vote our way out of this mess. The corporate oligarchy is imbedded in the very fabric of our representative democratic republic.

Sweet it is to hear such soulful souls. My eyes cannot watch the shiny fabrications of icon merchants in the media. It's been a long time since I heard a Rev speak, and speak in a way that makes the Bible walk, not just talk. Rev said these labels of liberal, Conservative etc. are puny distractions. We wake to sleep, and take our waking slow, and truly we learn by going where we have to go.

Hmmm Problem: the point about John the Baptist losing his head as a matter of control was not Biblically correct. The Bible says it was because John told Herod the politician he should not have stole his brothers wife and his wife was ticked off. The Bible focuses on John telling Herod he could not take his brother's wife and we know about the dancing daughter.

Agreed , John mis understood the role of the Christ and was a little fast in going after herod for marrying his brothers wife. That issue wasnt concerning the Christ mission
