Wish you were in my area. Had to learn to replace 2 toilets in new condo. Am Standard Basic (Colonial?) 2 piece at $150. Excellent flush, 1.6 gal. For what it is used for I can't wrap my head around any higher price than that.
I bet you put in a lot of toilets. But a "few thousand per year" equates to about 10 a day. That's assuming you get 1 day off per week most of the time, and sometimes 2. A thousand toilets per year would be 3 to 4 per day with the same days off. Average toilet install costs $250 in labor. 250 x 3000 = $750,000. Three quarters of a million dollars installing toilets. I suppose that would be just compensation for someone that can do 10 a day including drive time, but I have my doubts on any of these numbers.

I have a kohler memoirs and a toto 1 piece toilet. Both have mever clogged and always flush completely. A service and repair plumber like you. I did that for over 40 years.
The kohler Memoirs matches the lav. sink and go with the memoirs faucets. The Toto is great in that it is 1 piece. Both have removable banjo counter tops. For me it is 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other.

I’m not a fan of any Kohler Toilets the customer wanted these, Toto is the King of the Toilets the American standards are decent but they don’t last nearly as long as the Toto’s. I was licensed before you ever picked up a snake :-)

If I can, I'll buy a refurb 3.5gpf terlit. If not, just saw how the American Standard Vormax flush and I'm impressed! Swirl is very important for peeps with digestive ills who spatter the back half of the bowl with 💩. Unless they have a bidet on a hose sprayer to clean the bowl, these 1.6 - 1.28gpf terlits are a non starter. Best solution in residential is to get a 20 gallon well tank, run 1.5" PVC from that to a flushometer and do a wall hung 3.5gpf Kohler Kingston Water Guard that has the best flush and swirl. What do you think of AS Vormax? Any others with good swirl and flush?
As a homeowner, I installed a Glacier Bay Power Flush 2-Piece in our basement bathroom. We went with it because it had decent ratings and price. At the time was $159.00. It works well and we have had no problems with it. Probably would go with Toto or Standard for the other bathrooms.
Here in Bolivia, CELITE is King, I think it's Brazilian made, Italian Tech, not sure: 35 years and still works great; of course the mechanism had to be changed everytime it wears out

I like american standard as a basic and toto as an upgrade. I don't like Kohler toilet. I've had more plugged Kohler toilets than all others combined in the last couple decades

The best toilet without power assist would be the American Standard Champion 4. I own it. It flushes more aggressively than the one's that you have demonstrated.
I disagree, The Champion is a great flushing toilet but it wont last nearly as long as this Toto, You will notice the champions flush will slowly diminish over the years and theres literally nothing you can do about it.

refer to my pinned post, I didnt say I install thousands I said I install and repair thousands, Just to put things into perspective because you obviously arent a plumber just on this call here I worked on 6 toilets, I installed 3 and removed 3, This call took me 90 minutes, I work 15 hours a day some days, I work 6-7 days a week EVERY WEEK I have customers that are massive hotels, motels apartment and condo complex's and property management companies
