Hi Sati, I love your content. I have a question about the intro. How do I avoid too much overlap with the initial "Tell me about yourself..." talk? I feel like I have to give them a run down there, and hastily go through my 15+ previous experience. In reality I feel like I could do more justice in the beginning of presentation, but I feel like they just want to see only UX case studies... :-( Also, what were your reasons you chose to make it on Pitch instead of Figma?
Thank you so much for your kind words-I really appreciate it! 😊 To address your question about the intro, it’s important to balance your self-introduction with the content of your presentation. When asked “Tell me about yourself,” try to focus on your career highlights that are most relevant to the role. Think of it as setting the stage, giving them just enough context without diving too deep. Save the detailed breakdown of your experience for the beginning of your presentation, where you can frame your case studies in the context of your career journey. This way, you avoid repetition but still do justice to your background. As for using Pitch instead of Figma, I found that Pitch’s templates and animations + adding gifs and videos were perfect for creating polished and visually appealing presentations quickly. While Figma is amazing for design work, Pitch felt more streamlined for structuring a narrative and sharing the deck with others with speaker notes. Both are great tools, but it depends on your specific needs! Let me know if you have any other questions-I’m happy to help! 😊
You are heaven-sent! Your portfolios are super detailed and help juniors like us understand the mentality of senior designers. Can't thank you enough! Quick question: How do you get design awards? Do you apply for them? They create lots of authority at the beginning of your presentation. Curious how junior designers could bag some of these. Love from Kenya 🇰🇪
Your appreciation means the world to me! I'm grateful that my work can assist young designers in understanding the industry better. Yes sure, I have a video on the award winning topic as well. Please check it out here: ruclips.net/video/JdY77ZLQycI/видео.html&ab_channel=ProductDesignTube
I had an epiphany while watching this presentation about web and UI/UX design. I realized that it's not just about creating aesthetically pleasing designs, but it's more about how you tackle your client's problems. This has inspired me to enroll in a UI/UX design course, so I can gain a thorough understanding of the web design industry and provide genuine value to my clients.
Hi Sati! Thanks for this video, you are good reference to make own portfolio) I am curious what ai tools you used for making this video? Mentioned some ai glitches and interesting how you optimise your video production) thanks
Hi! Nice catch! Yes, I'm currently busy writing a book on how to ace UX/UI design interviews, so I've decided to translate my old videos into English. I'm using the HeyGen AI website for this-it's a very cool product. I recommend checking it out!
