wow your channel is realy great! it makes me try to build antennas like this on my own. did you think when you cut the tube 3/4 and use the smaller part, your beamwith will rise up and downwards but lose the strength horizontaly?
Sir, I want to know the length of the brass tube that you have used to make the balun and what should be the height of the brass tube/ main element above the reflector? Thanks
I have some of the flex coax ones with tripod mount in the shop will be making a few of the semi ridged ones over the next few days. www.ebay.co.uk/str/andrewantennas
I’ve got some brass tubing that’s 38mm in diameter... will that work ok? Excellent videos! I’ve just recently stumbled across your channel and love all the antennas you make.... starting to try every one of them!
andrew mcneil final question for you on this.... in the case of a standard double BiQuad on curved reflector (without the increased beam width cut and bends) what distance should the element be from reflector. In your video you mention somewhere between 6.5 and 7mm but I’m doing some research and finding some say more like 5mm. Any recommendations? I’ll be using 8mm copper clad mig wire. Thanks in advance
It’s funny but I did think about this some time ago and suspending it in a test tube. But mercury is a very poor conductor. And I am in the UK; getting hold of sufficient mercury would be difficult. But a liquid antenna would be interesting.
I used four biquads for d j i digital fpv and they work great (search digital fpv biquad in you tube for the video). This double version will trade off altitude for an increased beam width.
Would like to measurements in inches I'm not on the metric system LOL but I am trying to make myself an antenna your videos are very insightful but if you can could you give me the measurements in inches mainly the wires they have to bend I need that in inches it'll really be insightful and helpful thank you so much
We all have hobbies we are obsessive about but it seems you are the master of antenna design Andrew - very interesting stuff!
Great - thank you! Just for it being so beautiful I am interested in building one...
Good to seem some FPV stuff
Very informative video, could you have used 35mm dia copper pipe to simplify the design a touch?
hi nice video ....for receiveing antenna is the return to loss and VSWR are important..? Thank you
what are the measures to build an antenna Biquad Curve 1.2 -1.3GHz
Use some soap on the cutting disc to stop the aluminium binding to it

Awesome Andrew!
can this antenna be used directly on the fpv googles (i use analog sys)

Your ebay shop does not seem to exist at least if I click the link provided.
Is your ebay shop still going?
Great video Andrew; how much gain do you think the curve loses?

it will and you have the extra benefit of being able to solder straight on to it.
andrew mcneil would you still recommend using a straight back plate made out of the same brass, maybe just flatened?
@@glennwoodward77 I don't think you would need it and as such you would not need to use any rivets
andrew mcneil thanks!

Link above goes to nowheresville brother...
had a paypal ready purchase....but nothing to buy
Request Tutorial "wajan bolic" but version 5ghz sir.
Wonder how I can mount that massive dish on my fpv goggles.
Can u make the antenna with liquid Metall (mercury)!?!

Can you make outdoor antenna for 4g lte modem..
Very easily.
She's a beaut.
Thx Sir 🤓🙋
Has anyone tried this with a fpv setup and knows how it works?
