Try a silver dollar in air. The VDI with frequency shift of 8 in multi is 67 at any distance. That is lower than a zinc penny. This happens where there is no emi.
First thing I do when I buy a new machine is bench test it on all frequencies on the whole range of VDI .. That's really the only way to fully understand the information being relayed to you from the detector. IDK why anyone would go out in the field without first testing the machine at home?? Detecting takes time why waste that precious time out in the field. Learn the machine out at home first . One will achieve better results when it comes time to go out and actually hunt the field or park....Good Testing Calàbash ! ✌️

I got mine yesterday. It took 8 9 hours to charge. That seems normal to me. Now a good test for charging the battery would be to use it for an average hunt 6 to 8 hours. Then charge it and see how long it takes to charge. My guesss is they have a pretty good reserve in the battery to prevent it from being overly discharged. Lithium batteries get damaged if they are over discharged. Devices that use them are proqrammed to prevent over discharge. It's why garrett and xp suggest not storing your detector away without being half charged. If the voltage drops too low it may never take charge again and if it does the overall capacity will be limited. Hopefully all of my rambling makes sense lol. Basically is what I'm saying is the initial charge will take longer than a normal charge after a day of detecting. I'm sure with the mad rush of getting our detectors out garrett didn't have time to charge or partially charge all the batteries. It took 3 to 4 hours to charge mi e past the first bar. After that it charged about 1 bar per hour.
I am having the simular results in multi freq with the elite. Numbers vary within 3 to 4 numbers when backing off with the coil like pinpointing with the toe of the coil. Then I noticed when raising when I got home and was testing on the floor not on dirt. I just figured it's not a 1000 buck detector lol hahaha. My real thoughts on your detector,,,, you got a lemon.______ It happens. Yea that creek you showed 3 gravel bars downstream from that high bank you should be able to find arrowheads pretty well.. that's how far I have been finding them from a site abundantly. Also being that you found that pottery that is the first place I would go I seen gravel bars both ways there. Both looked good just that corner was sexy as heck......Thanks for sharing.
@@calabashdiggeradventures I did same deal. Going to try it outside on dirt raising the coil. I may have got reading off the floor changing numbers. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on my Elite 376 bucks.......Why I bought it.
Very interesting video. Do you think the Triple Score is a better detector than the Legend? The reason I ask is because you seem to reference the Triple Score more than the Legend.
********** You weren't getting the strange ID issue in SF, right? If so, it's probably because the single frequencies don't have that EMI filter, or that filter is just not as aggressive when in SF modes. I think it's the SMF EMI filter which is causing the strange SMF issues.
@@calabashdiggeradventures What about a video showing how well the Vortex (even at very close to max sensitivity) mitigates EMI compared to other detectors, and questioning how exactly its able to do that?
Because calabash likes to work with all detector companies that are willing to fix bugs and improve their detectors. If he was going to use the best detector it would be the deus 2 or the manticore.

A video of a basic air test with big silver would be helpful.
Thanks that is a problem!

Very good deal...
Up early. I’ve been up since 2:30 cdt. Brrr!
Trying to nail down what's going on..
Good Morning!

Yes....
Thanks for post.

No , if I remember correctly...

Your on point as always good sir.
Much appreciated
Your working real hard Kalabash,,why don't you just buy a Nokta,,,problem fixed ,!
