Going to put the moonlight potion calculator here so you don't have to dig for it... but thanks for watching :) oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Moonlight_potion#Calculator EDIT: Moss Lizards work in reverse half your hunter level or 1/3rd your cooking level!
Best part about moons is how one learns to do it. Mistakes don't just K.O you. Instead it slowly chips away at your health the more you mess up, which pushes you to get better and faster at the mechanics. Learning raids or other higher level bosses all have instant kill mechanics making it frustrating to learn. Moons teaches you about true tiles and counting game tics without the penalty of constantly dying over and over.
I have a soft spot for this because I did it at 73 combat with only 50 def. Killing the blood moon with in full rune and my dragon scimmy was legitimately challenging. It required every piece of food and moonlight pots that I prepped, and required a run with zero mistakes on the blood jaguars. Yeah it's not impressive by osrs pvm standards, but it felt huge to finally beat it after 9 failed attempts. It gave me the bossing bug, and now I'm about to try Zulrah for the first time.
I was literally in the same spot just finished my first round. It took every pot and every piece of food. It took me clicking exactly when I’m supposed to for me. This istruly a victory.
The blood jaguars have a really good visual prompt, when the blood puddle reaches its widest you can then step back into it, and attack the jaguar immediately afterwards. This helped me massively since I don’t play using audio often.
The Guthan's set is actually the dark horse of this race. It has all 3 melee styles and helps keep you sustained. It's not the fastest clear but it's definitely very useful in the moons
It's best to take a few raw lizards with you before hopping into Blue, you can extend your runs without "stopping" by cooking them before Blood if you need supplies.
@@DragonstoneWolfe you get more than 1 meat per lizard as well, so I usually just skip fish and keep 3-4 moonlights, 6-10 cooked lizards, and like 4 raw lizards for max speed
thats just a basic reccomendation, i got 30ish kc running full barrows set and basic melee gear like fire cape Ddefender etc. i was using a whip, abysal dagger, and a sarachnis cudgel.
I’m a noob who’s hardly ever bossed or raided and have no experience with movement. I can’t even do Jad. I’ve gotta do this quest for my elite clue and I can only play on mobile right now. This will be a challenge for sure
Nice vid, I hadn't done the quest because I thought I was too low level but um good now and I even got a Torags hammer and Fharok plate today at barrows so I might give this a try now. Looks super fun and the self sustaining dungeon looks so cool! I don't have to waste money anymore especially since I have all the stats to get the most out of the prep.
hey for the tornadoes, I found that putting on walk and just ctrl clicking the altars works brilliantly, if you are hit you walk for one tic which i found to be more chill and often faster then trying to dodge them. you typically have time to eat a fish or two until she is attackable afterwards anyway. TLDR: blue moon tornado phase lazy mans Strat= turn off running and ctrl left click altars
So it's like a mini-raid? That's really cool for people like me who started playing in between TOB and TOA. Ive tried to catch up on PVM skills and gotten scared back to Vorkath and Zulrah so many times 😅 cant wait to try this!
Wow just an absolute applause for Jagex cause they really killed it with this boss. Fun, accessible, rewarding enough. Obviously it's a little easy, but it's so nice to see more lower level bossing with actual combat mechanics.
Fun fact about the Eclipse Moon: you actually do not want to walk. There are 4 tiles you can stand on around the edge of the moons. You can just run between them with no walking and you will never ever be hit by the special. Start just below the orb, at the edge of it, wait for it to have moved just beyond your character, then run to the next spot. It will literally always work. Walking is unnecessary and makes this all more complicated.
Half of your vtuber esc characters nose is transparent and I couldn't stop looking at it. Looked up this video because I was starting this quest and feared I had to do it before I could do the prayer mining activity. That said normally when I see "enemies to defeat" and any are over 300 I assume they are a boss character and am filled with some level of dread. Didnt need these bosses for the prayer mining but after watching the whole video I gotta say these bosses look less dreadful and more fairly enjoyable. I hope they continue laying stepping stones like this to bridge the gaps between content / gear.
My problem is that I've been having horrible luck, I haven't gotten an item in roughly 120 runs now 3x kills each. I am in this mindset limbo wondering if I did something wrong or not that is just not giving me an item now. Its been eating me alive sadly : (
But also the lizards when cooked are double the cooked product so 3 raw lizards are 6 once cooked. So they’re easier to catch and inventory cook half and keep a few for after a run or two to restock half the inventory just by cooking without needing to catch more.
I hope atleast they add a little more on the Normal Drops, Its kinda underwhelming. The Orbs single handedly carry the whole loot table but then again sometimes you get no orbs and the rest of the Loot is kinda meh(Except for the SK bones and bone shards). So i hope they can add more
Moons were my first boss. I wanted to just complete the quest, and man blood moon was sooooo hard. I couldn't out DPS it's heals and got lucky with a bunch of high hits on my like 10th attempt. Only coming back when my stats are a lot higher.
@@gestaltblitz8296if you have low defense/defensive bonuses then the normal base attacks alone can out heal you because of the multiplier effect. If it hits on the 3rd hit at all it’s usually healing ~40hp off one auto attack, and if it does that twice in a single cycle that can out heal your entire damage phase. I rarely have to tele out, but sometimes it takes a whole invy of food just based on rng. Agreed that the best thing is to just get good at the specials tho so that you can reduce the healing as much as possible.
Wearing a shield can help alot, especially blood. Otherwise mostly just learning mechanics and following them. Avoiding moving to the right lit up sun to get one last hit can be very detrimental too. Ive had blood on 6hp and chanced one more hit without moving and he hit me with all 3 hits of the combo and then its back over 100hp. The food heals based on stats so lizards for example heal about 1/3 of cooking level so if your cooking is low, raising that could help. Each lizard cooked for me now is 32 or 33 with 96 cooking, which compared to someone getting 20 per is an extra 200+ healing per inventory, or the equivalent of 10 extra food for them. Piety is amazing if you can unlock it. If not, raising def to use a dragonfire shield will help alot. I wear one for the entire run now. Whip plus shield can kill them all, or a Osmumtens fang plus shield works good too. Should only need 2-3 potions so stack the rest food if struggling. Protection prayers don't help so Piety is all you need to keep up or whatever your best combat prayers are.
The only real negative to Perilous Moons is the bad drops I get lol. But seriously, great bosses, fun mechanics, very solo-able, and no real cost for supplies. I guess my only dislike is I think the ball mechanic with Eclipse is kinda annoying, but fine. And I run into this issue with blood moon where I get hit like 3 times during a normal attack phase (and he heals bigly) and I am not sure why that is happening, and I haven't figured out how to stop it, if I can.
You can't stop it but more defence does reduce it happening. Wearing a shield is beneficial, dragonfire shield is one of the best + def and has a good +str bonus (I just use it for all 3). Make sure you go with the lit up moons as that reduces damage done to you which in turn reduces bloods healing as its based on how much damage he deals. I know most do it but delaying moving to get the next swing can easily negate any damage from it. Basically anything you get hit by in bloodmoon heals the boss.
Also everyone was saying false things like you couldn't eat or it healed the boss too. Trying to avoid healing in jaguar and blood rain phases greatly reduced the damage you could do and risked death by sitting low avoiding eating.
Hell yeah! This is so much more up my alley than all the hardcore content they've been making the past couple of years. I want to do raids but it's way too difficult for me even having had tons of practise on Trailblazer League. And then there's the Inferno, Colloseum and actual DT II bosses which will never be realistic for me.
You’d be surprised what you’re capable of! Practice little by little over time and one day you could definitely tackle some of the tougher content like raids and inferno.
Unsure if anyone else pointed it out, if you do get a unique you don't want, give it to the npc in the chest room and you get a chance to get a different unique...or the same one. Or nothing.
this is the weirdest review titled guide I've ever seen, is it a review or is it another ultra in depth guide that doesn't actually show you a boss fight till 11 minutes in?
I just didn’t find this content fun. It just feels like there is absolutely zero threat from the bosses. They do zero damage. There isn’t really anything that punishes you if you mess up, because the mechanics are too easy to actually mess up. Maybe people are lagging, I’m not sure how people are actually dying here. I’m glad that I’m the minority here though, maybe I’m just burnt out. Nice little guide though. :)
ya its veeeery hard to go backwards, once you get used to raids/end game bosses, basically stuff where all mistakes are punished so much harder it just doesn't feel super rewarding, but its good for our mid game players to see there's more out there pvm wise!
@@NoLeather I feel that, I just think that if we get infinite supplies, we should at least be threatened enough to need to use some of them in the fight. A big mechanic in mid-high end content is knowing when to eat. I do like that they have this theme of introducing people to mechanics though. We needed to bridge the gap in content to be able to get people into raids. This content definitely gives that opportunity. Compared to barrows, this content is miles ahead. The only actual mechanic at barrows is drink prayer potion or use the hilt. You don’t even need gear, just go in butt naked + iban’s + hilt and you are set for barrows.
@@warryen after a few hundred lunars i find barrows more fun tbh. 94 for me @.@
damnn im at 2 pieces in 24 kills
