Recipe as stated for those looking for it:
2TBs beeswax, 1/2 cup coconut oil, 1/2 cup tallow, 1/4 cup non-nano zinc oxide,
•Mix fats and beeswax in double boiler until well mixed, add in zinc
•When all is well mixed removed from heat
•As it cools whip air in the solution
•Put in glass container and cool in fridge
Paul I would recommend using a whisk over a beater if you have an attachment for it, start at lower speeds to prevent splattering as you work air into it, as it fluffs up you can speed it up to get it to the desired consistency.

Heating is just to help get good dispersion for mixing, the zinc is providing physical blocking by both scattering and reflecting UV rays to reduce potential sun damage. no activating properties.@@firstanama4573

Adding the Cacao powder is a game changer. You need more than you think, depending on your skin tone. Not only does it perfectly blend with the tone of your skin, it evens out the skin complexion and adds a nice tan. Using the mixer/egg beater is key to adding air to it and improving texture.

Gotta say, as someone whos recently been using either tallow or no oil at all. I am shocked. I'm shocked how clean tallow and especially lamb fat was. My idea of oil and cream was that it was gross, and cooking in oil always made everything taste disgusting. Lamb fat runs CLEAR and it SHOCKED me. And I'm not lethargic like I usually am after cooking in oil.

Hi Paul, zeolite or bentonite clay also has natural sunscreen property. There is a paper about it and it was showing its effectivenes same as regular sunscreens. So I do my own tallow cream thinned with some olive oil and essential oils, so basically just add a table spoon of zeolite powder to this tallow mix and use it as sunscreen.
It would be intreresting to compare the sunscreen property of zinc to zeolite, though.

A skin care/ sun protection arsenal I developed in the backcountry, ( but continue to employ in the frontcountry)... brew OG Yerba Mate (or green tea). Let it steep, preferably overnight. Wash your face using the tea immediately after sun exposure. Then apply the tea bag directly to more sensitive areas ( ears, nose) and gently pat dry. The antioxidants in the tea offset sun damage. Do this daily. While not a sunscreen per se, it is still a potent defense against skin cancer.

This is incredible. It was a 50/50 shot of me not liking it because of the type of coconut oil you should choose to use. First batch I used organic unrefined coconut oil with more pronounced scent of coconut or coconut type baked goods. Next batch I will use the refined organic coconut oil with a neutral to no scent. I was doing some trial and error and now I know what I like. In my opinion I wouldn't use the unrefined. That would have been nice to know "exactly" Paul used. I also put some essential oils to scent it! Have fun experimenting!🌞🏄

      Hey, the fact is:
Jesus died for you. He died on the cross for your sins. The Bible says we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and so as humans we all deserve death since we have all sinned. But Jesus took on all of our sins on the cross so that we could have a relationship with the Father. We just have to accept this gift. We don't have to do big things. We trust in what Jesus has done for us and not trust in our own bad lives. Jesus ransomed us. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). The question when you stand before God is whether he knew you. Build a relationship with Jesus. Spend time with him, for example in prayer or reading the Bible. There is power only in the name of Jesus, not in the name of Muhammad, Buddha or Krishna. Jesus changed my life. He proved himself to me. Especially through the healings he did to me and through me on another person. He loves you, give him your life today. You never know when it's too late. Just try this prayer:
Jesus, today is the day that I give you my life. I believe that you died on the cross for me and rose again after three days. I am a sinner and need you as a savior. I repent and ask for your loving guidance in my life. In your mighty name, Jesus Christ, amen
Convince yourself. Jesus wants to save you but you have to open your heart. You will not regret it. If you put your faith in Jesus, you will be saved. If he can change my life, then he can change yours too.
I am certain that whatever we suffer in this world is nothing compared to the glory that God will give us (Romans 8:18).

Zinc only sunscreens are some of the most difficult to properly formulate even for experienced cosmetic chemists. If you want something equivalent, but that is actually effective, properly tested and formulated, I'd recommended a company like Badger.

BEEF TALLOW is all that's necessary. To give it the right consistency, you can melt with stearic acid, which Paul is all about, in the form of cocoa butter. Why whip it? That is all you need to make a decent sunscreen and moisturizer. What's with the bee & coconut ingredients? Also Paul, enjoy a health-improving glass of wine and chill, buddy.

Happy to see you don't put your beautiful animal-based sunscreen in a plastic bottle because, as I am sure you know, fats act like a solvent on plastic releasing all those plastic toxins into your sunscreen. I wonder why , when you showed us your raw milk in the fridge, it was in plastic bottles. I get my raw milk from my local farmer who only puts it in our own glass bottles that we leave each week when we pick up our raw milk.

Could you use ghee instead of tallow as both are non comedogenic. I have ghee at home but wondering if it’s worth it to buy tallow

    • @JasonActualization
      @JasonActualization 6 месяцев назад

Use tallow, ghee is total garbage. Unfortunately it's not common knowledge that ghee contains a double digit percentage of oxidized cholesterol, and those oxysterols are directly atherogenic, so I would neither consume it, nor apply it my skin.

Coconut oil is very cosmedogenic which means it clogs the pores. Better use jojoba oil, argan oil, or even olive oil.

@@antb3334 The difference in short, is that, if it took you 10 minutes to sunburn without sunscreen, with SPF 20, it would take 200 minutes, and with SPF 30, it would take 300 minutes. Think of it has an X factor, i.e., you are 20x, 30x or 50x less prone/susceptible to burn with SPF 20, 30, and 50, respectively. Hope this helps.
