Excellent Video Emily! You covered the basics extremely well. I would like to have a class full of students like you. My two cents, I send my students to abesbooks for really dirt cheap books. My students often buy their books for less then $10 when a new one would cost $250. My second “cent.” Also “test drive” your professors. If you don’t like the instructor or the way they conduct their class. BAIL. I wished I did that as an undergrad. Our personalities “fit” better with some people then others, including instructors. Don’t suffer through a class for 15 weeks just because it fits your schedule.

Hi Emily! I’m going to be a freshman at Fresno and wanted to know how did you become familiar w/the campus and your classes especially your first year or day of school… lowkey scared to be lost the first day lol any tips or advice is really appreciated :)
Luckily I had my dog days in person so they gave us a tour on campus! To find my classes I used the pdf of the campus map they have online :) get familiar with the locations of the buildings in orientation to the big streets around so that you can easily travel around the campus. look for the buildings of your classes on the campus map. Can you tell me which college is best for international students in Fresno California
I’m hoping to go to fresno and I wanted to know what your opinion is on Greek life. I want to live in the dorms but also be involved in Greek life if it’s not too pricey and demanding.

Im from Sacramento, got accepted to sac state and fresno, now im just deciding. Its rough with all this corona stuff goin round i was trying to take a campus tour of fresno but it looks like its not going to happen:( ive been watching virtual tours and videos about fresno state and it looks great. There are few in person classes being offered at CSU Fresno next semester (fall 2020) on Instagram. Go to the search icon and type in Fresno State Anthropology Club, they posted it on the 9th of July.
So far everything I've heard about college professors actually matches with my HS ERWC/English teacher lmao and I also just got accepted to Fresno State today but Ima wait to see if I get accepted to Cal Poly SLO👀
Young Jesus congratulations! I’ve found that college professors are cooler than high school professors and usually want to make sure you understand the content. However they are very strict when it comes to deadlines, unlike high school where it’ll be easier to get away with turning in things late. I hope you get accepted into CP SLO 🙂
Emily Serrato thank you! But yeah ik that’s exactly how my English teacher is😂she loves her job, hates kids, but still is a great teacher and always makes sure we understand the lessons. Idk if yk the city but I’m from Porterville and I go to Harmony Magnet Academy in Strathmore and up until this year, all our teachers have been great and for once I’ve actually learned stuff unlike in other schools I’ve been where the teachers just hand the kids packets 👀

Hello i am planning to go to csu fresno to pursue my master's in cse but iam from ece background and i got 5 prerequisites (18units) to complete and according to freno state i should maintain 3gpa or more in all my academics isit possible or it is better for me to choose other universitiy

@@esmeraldatrujillo4811 if you plan to become a psychology major, you start off as pre-psych because you have to pass certain classes before you’re an official psych major :)

Mar Morales hi, I live in Fresno so I stayed at my parents house 🙂 but from seeing others, dorms are really expensive compared to a shared student apartment. If you join the Fresno state Facebook group, you’ll find plenty of people looking for roommates or leases to take over.

Hey girl, I am graduating from college soon with an Associate’s Degree and plan to apply this October to CSU Fresno. If I’m transferring, do I still need scores from an SAT or ACT?
mildred r. Hi I’m not exactly sure because I’m not a transfer or know someone who is but you can definitely ask a counselor at Fresno state 🙂 I wouldn’t want to give you any wrong information!
You don't need SAT/ACT scores for transfer students.

Idk if you said this but I always tell people to use rate my professor when choosing a professor. I personally don’t mind having an 8am class if the professor is good.

I have a question... about grades how do you guys do it ? Like .A 100-93% .A- 92% - 90% or A 100% - 90%.
Willy Mendoza it’s up to the teacher, some do percentages and some do a point system. You’ll know when you get the syllabus the first day 🙂
An A would usually be between 90-100% but some professors are lenient on the 89.5 ish range. The A+/- does not matter on the transcript. It’ll be posted as a solid letter
If a professor has tenure they can make the grading scale as easy or as hard as they please., but yes a good majority do grade on that scale
Does CSU Fresno have some kind of need-based aid? And does it have dorms? As an international student these are super important to me! :)

anya hi there is definitely need based aid but it may be tricky for international students. I would recommend you reach out to an admissions advisor directly who could better answer your questions! 🙂 We do have dorms.

@@leahhamilton335 no, your professors will tell you if you need books or not on the first day! They will also tell you which book(s) exactly you’ll need if any.

Yes they do accept international students. I would personally email they’re admissions offices and ask. They are very helpful!
