Probably and likely, this interview was done at the very height of Harrison Fords career! Frantic, Working Girl, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! What a time for him!
Sadly the film bombed! Audiences at the time, just did not like, nor could they handle seeing Ford in that Character. It was at the time Harrison's favorite Movie character and film, I remember seeing an interview with him, and Ford was very passionate and enthusiastic about that role, but in the end, it is not about what the actor wants or likes, but what the public is willing to pay to see! I agree, it is a good Movie!
I can't believe anyone would say Temple of Doom was too violent or dark. Film critics can be such lightweights. How else can you convey the weight/seriousness of a scene without a bit of violence/darkness. An action adventure film doesn't serve itself well by being soft. An Indiana Jones film shouldn't be like The Care Bears.
It was at the time too strong for most. Audiences were mixed in their feelings about it. Some felt it was fine, others felt it was way too much. You have to keep in mind it was 40 years ago, and alot has changed since then, including the violence threshold for Audiences.
I never care what film he’s talking about I could just sit here forever and listen to his voice😌

A wonderful movie and Melanie Griffith was the Marylin of the 80‘s.
1988 "Frantic" und "Working Girl", so verschiedene Rollen. Letzteres habe ich öfter gesehen, denn es macht mehr Freude.
RIP ---both Mike Nichols and Jonathan Demme
Mosquito Coast is his most underrated performance.

Interesting.... was a very good movie.
Charming movie (Working Girl). I, personally, liked Temple of Doom.
I feel like Temple of doom had more potential but probably my 4th favorite Indiana jones film😂

You are absolutely right ! That´s why DOOM is my second favourite Indy-film ( after RAIDERS ), followed by CRUSADE.
There's plenty of numbers under that number that were connected to good men that are no longer here
Harrison Ford's voice is slightly out of sync!
