BAP and Nu'est, have you guys rembered how these 2 groups are the top rookies in 2012? Nu'est already popular pre debut 2011, top15 on melon chart and has million of streams when they debuted and Bap is doing well that time omo. They are way popular than exo when they debuted in 2012 (I'm supporting exo that time since I'm an SM Stan) but they've exchange places starting the end of 2013 and drifted on 2014 all because of mismanagement of Pledis to Nu'est and TS to bap, should I add the mistreatment? And now, exo is on the top while these two groups were just left behind despite being so talented in their field.
I just can't help but think of how these two would have been today if only their companies managed them well knowing that out of all grps that time theyre the one that have a good start basing on their popularities. But time will come that everything would be on their favor. Nu'est is doing good now, hopefully BAP would be the same as well. Let's just continue supporting these groups buy buying tons of album and streaming every comeback or anything which we can help them

Agree, I'm a kpop stan since 2010 but not really too update about kpop in 2014 till 2016 because academic things. And then found out Nuest and BAP have no longer sooo popular INTERNATIONALLY like back then I was kinda sad. Although I'm not in their fandom, but I like them and I know they're sooooo popular internationally even compete with exo. Their songs are good too and the members are entertaining when in shows... I even still remember the iconic BAP's lightstick!! Back then I see it everywhere when I check in in twitter in my fangirl's account.

They had a 1 year long fight with their company, filing a lawsuit against them for overworking and maltreatment. In this 1 year they lost many fans as their popularity dispersed to the other rising groups.

Every Male Idol's Husband The company didn't have enough money to keep the group together. The company was supposed to debut a new group called "WH!TE," with former The Ark members Suji (Halla) and Jane, as well as current soloist Kim Juna, but theirs been no word of said group.

I wanna add that JYP pretty much tossed Miss A to the side. They literally didn't have any comebacks since 2015, and then decided to disband them at the end of 2017, like it's something he forgot to do. I get that he has really popular groups now, but he shouldn't waste the groups that made his company part of the Big 3. And he did this, even after all the bops they came out with. Smh.
Chair Animations Miss A is a great group
Miss A had a really great start but kinda sunk through the years due to the extremely unbalanced distribution of resources and popularity of the individual members. Most people only know Suzy and some even call the group "Suzy and her sisters." Plus they had way too few comebacks, only released in total 8 albums (mini & regular combined) for 6 years the 4 members were together. For their last title song, the line distribution also went drastically unbalanced, about 1/3 of the song went to Suzy. To be honest, I think Suzy is not strong in either singing or dancing, especially when compared to the other members. I'm not a fan of the group nor any member tho. I was surprised to find out that Min is the least popular and got almost no activities later on. I had never imagined Miss A would end up the way it did in the beginning; it was the group that broke the record to get 1st win only 21 days after debut.
I love Miss A. I was sad when they disband too.
JAZ23 Jesus Christ stop. Suzy was by no means pushed at the beginning, the most popular member was Fei back then. She was the one representing MissA on a number of variety shows. However, due to political tensions and Suzy’s drama (which she got passed down to her because someone else didn’t want it) accidentally getting mega popular, she became the ace of the group. It’s absolutely natural to push someone who the public knows to get your name to a wider audience. JYP probably never intended for Suzy to blow up like she did.
It's a good thing that PLEDIS is already making a move for NU'EST.
I hope After School comes back since Kae Eun is on Produce48.

Amelie Bavard I really love Hotshot, and their last comeback was in 2015 with I'm A Hotshot, but sinde then they hadn't a comeback. When I heard that two of them are on PD101, I was proud because I can see them again and they can gain more popularity, they. also got on PD101 A grade

Emily Ann I doubt Starship is gonna keep them in Japan especially after gaining so many new k-fans, I mean they've been in the top 10 on MCD for weeks (which has never happened before) and they've been pumping albums left and right. Boyfriend is doing amazing in Japan but the problem is that SS at that time sent them off too fast because BF was quite popular in Korea, so I think SS learnt from their mistakes. Either way, Monsta X already got top spots on Japanese iTunes chart and apparently they're only gonna promote for 1 month in Japan until their repackaged album comes out. I think that with the repack they're gonna gain even more new kmbbs 😊

mina278 yes their last comeback was in December with hands up, think hole and moondance. The mini album name is ego. They still do amazing songs... unfortunately many people don't realize it 😥😥

i know BAP is amazing and in fact they did beat EXO back in 2012 with their debut but as of today sadly BAP can't reach the popularity and success of EXO they're far behind and it's all because of their shitty company, that's the reality

I thought--wait a sec--they seem to be doing better--getting more fans because of the show-- I thought at first it was wrong for them to be there--but read a lot of positive comments, and it did bring them more attention from people that didn't know Nu'est before...they're still together working on things--proving they can do well--but I'm sure they can't wait for Minhyun to come back. I haven't finished watching this video yet, but I know there are complaints about CUBE. I just hope they treat BTOB well. DSP has always had some kind of junk going on...and Star Empire--I don't know what happened with them--change of bosses, etc. B.A. P is good, too. Too bad some other Big Hit-ish (or other decent )company doesn't come along--and snap all this talent up.

*Imagine having these artists and can't take care.. Like, all of them was so popular and some off them is already one off the biggest bands and some could be. But what a shame, they dont know what to do with succeed idols.*

Nh media, trashy agency... UKISS debuted in 2008, they became popular in 2009 with manmanhani, but nh just kicked out 2 members, to give a new image to the group (better vocals) and then....they just never promoted them properly, basically doing 3 weeks cbs everytime, they never appeared on shows... in 2011 they debuted in japan and received immediately a great response, since then nh kept on sending them to japan...gradually decreasing their number of kr cbs... 2/yr, 1/yr, 1/2yrs...UKISS live in japan. and members started to leave the company. there are 5 now (4 bc 1 enlisted). the maknae (bc yes nh added a new member 6years after their debut) joined the survival show "The unit" to relive his group in korea (similar to pd101 but it's a rebooting idol show for underrated idols) he ended 1st of the show all by himself and other ukiss and friends promotion, and also their jp label..their kr company never promoted him during the show, they didn't update their accounts for 5 months and 1 day update it by promoting their new trainees competing in another survival show "mixnine". They promise vlive videos, but they never happen, they give 3 cb/yr to their gb but totally gave up on them when they're still their most profitable group. nh has never ever tried to promote them, use money for them, actually ukiss maknae who won The unit is like getting lot of attention and cf, dramas offers but nh do nothing, idk what they're waiting for. so kiseop, another member, is composing songs by himself and give to ukiss japanese comebacks with self production, self MV, and also kr studio released with his own songs.

i wish they decided (like block b) to leave together nh and join a new one without disbanding.... but these boys never gave up on nh they kept on trusting them.... but after 10 years of hope, some of them just couldn't anymore.
i saw that interview from Eli on a radio saying that leader Soohyun keep on pressuring nh every-fucking time to let them release a kr comeback... but no answer... and now soohyun is apologizing in his messages to us (while making his military service) for not being able to make a kr cb before his enlistment ...as if he was in fault .... and now that he is not there to pressure trash nh, Eli said all the members pressure nh, but especially Kiseop who keep on proposing his own song to nh every weeks.
how i hate nh, ukiss whole career would have been totally different is they were in another company, less crappy...
I was surprised to learn that they only got their 1st win on music shows in 2016. Seriously, 8 years after debut!!! Manmanhani was a big hit, and I really like 0330, Neverland and Doradora. All these good songs couldn't get them the acknowledgment... What the hell was the company doing with promotions??? Obviously, Kevin left because he did not see any future. I'm sure he loves the members after going through 10 years, but being at his age and still not getting anything is not okay. And I think the rest members were better off staying than leaving: Soohyun was enlisting, Eli has a family to take care of (and I think some ppl don't like him being married), Kiseop is also close to max enlisting age, Hoon is not individually popular enough (I guess... since he was not an original member...) and the maknae is new. Kevin doesn't have much to worry about but the career itself. I'm glad he left, and feel sad for the others that they have to stay because it would be too risky to leave at this time.
NH media is too focused on Laboum (I'm not hating, I'm a Latte) and let's be honest, they don't even manage them that well, and give Solbin much more spotlight than the others...etc I want U-KISS back in Korea dammit, Even though their Japanese singles (listen to Scandal) are great

I'm a Cube Stan that's why I was really sad about what happened to Beast. 😟
I think this list is a bit unfair to Cube because, after all, they made Beast one of Kpop's truly dominant forces. It's only now that I've heard of Beast being ruined by "overcontrolling" Cube mngt because to be sure, from 2013 onwards, Beast especially Junhyung was made to write and produce the group's songs adding to their renown as a Creative force and with a discography that would rival and even be more solid than Big Bang's. Of course Cube had troubles when it went public and a new mngt came in, and it was a bit late when the original manager Papa Hong came back, and by that time Beast had already decided not to renew. But of course there was the sudden move to patent the Beast brand, which was a business decision, but hateful to fans of Beast who had to change their name and start from scratch. But even Highlight guys have expressed their gratitude to Cube and chosen not to speak ill of it, so I think it's unfair even for them for their old company to be accused of "ruining" them. Whether as Beast or as Highlight, Doojoon, Junhyung, Yoseob, Kikwang and Dongwoon are a class act and totally nice and kind personalities; they're a positive force!
Lito Zulueta the problem with cube was their bad management yes they were working on their own albums but having one comeback a year with barely any promotions doesn’t do much even when they were at their peak with ‘fiction’ cube didn’t make a use out of their popularity plus they kept sending them to japan a lot!! so long haitus and lack of promotions at korea made them lose a lot of fans :(

I remember the days when BAP and EXO were the two "competing" rookies... If only TS did heir jobs properly they would've maintained the status that exo has right now (in Korea). Nevertheless they're still an amazing group that deserves better than what they are getting.
B.A.P slays European countries. Every group has their own fans at every part of this world, but apparantly medias aren't writing news about B.A.P's achievments and moments that much. Still, I'm so so proud of them.

If I was them...I would run away from T$ as much as I could, even though their lawsuit is over, they are still a really bad company. They still only care about making fast money without thinking about the group in a long term. They overwork B.A.P but never promote them correctly...sigh...plus the oldest members will be enlisting soon too...we really need to work hard to give B.A.P the best we can as a fandom before it is too late...

For a group to debut, it's likely to use millions of money and takes time to build a strong fanbase. Even bigger companies have this tendencies too.*
and also, I just happened to observe, most rising groups as of now, have their own colors that are different from other groups. Like composing music, writing lyrics, choreographing dance routines, it's more on 'richness of individuality'. They just have to find what they are good at. ^^
true that' s what I ought too as what I've observed to sm they debut a group every two year then break for 3 to 4 yrs then debut groups again... actuall its the companies sometimes the reason why their idols are not getting successful, they have lack of technique of promoting their idols
SUGA-coated SWAEG This is one of the many reasons why I love BigHit Entertainment. They purposely didn't debut a new group because they wanted to put all of their attention and money on BTS. They wanted them to reach their full potential before debuting a new group, which makes me so happy.
Whats even sadder.. I was a fan of B.A.P since their Warrior Era.. I have always waited for their comeback ever since.. i always get excited when their having comebacks already.. Hahah!! i hope they get to have more recognition as a group and as themselves..

SUGA-coated SWAEG At that time tho, TS was focused on BAP, but the reason the lawsuit happened was because BAP got no rest and weren't paid properly. They worked 24/7, back to back comebacks and actual world tours, going to every part of the world, didn't even have time to breathe or check their health and on top of that, they had no money from working their ass off. BAP didn't deserve such a strenuous and rigorous schedule. The thing TS sucked at was looking out for their artists' health and stability. I guess they have gotten better since because they let Gukkie take time off and cope with his anxiety and didn't push him to continue doing shit when he was uncomfortable. However, I agree with you. Companies become negligent after debuting way too many groups.
NU'EST aged like fine fucking wine though. They were a dying group on verge of disbandment but Produce 101 really helped them and put them on the map. They're doing great now!
You can add YG already, include WINNER, IKON and Lee Hayi. if thats not enough, include 2ne1 too. Thank you. (they all had so much potential and some YG stans are now starting to question YG's management since that talent-spree shopping variety show he have).

For those who wanna know, TS never paid them, millions of wons magically disappeared into the ceo's account, BAP's family had to pay for doctors, TS enslave them to a point they were about to pass out, once Daehyun was at the hospital and they took him off to perform even when the doctor said he could die, three times or more they took Daehyun or Himchan out of the hospital to perform, boys kept saying they need to rest but TS sent them to a worldtour instead, they had to cancel SA part because they were literally dying, the boys couldnt see their families or friends at all, their staff had to lie the company so they could go to get a coffee outside or go to see their mums, brothers, dads.
BAP wanted to demand since 2013 (only one year after debut) but they waited for Zelo to turn out 18 to sue TS, they worked for years without being payed because they love music and fans, even when they were not in full accordance with TS they came back because of the fans. Really, ah, stop with BTS -.-''

Not surprised at all, sadly T.T Everyone keep saying how famous they were and all the fans they lost, but they never talk about what happened. Of course the boys knew the risk of suing their company and they knew they were going to lose lots of fans, just imagine how TS mistreated them. Everyone always forget to talk about that and just compare them to other groups like EXO or BTS, its annoying, really xD I love BTS and I like EXO but really, B.A.P is B.A.P not a comparation or a "were they should be", it makes me mad T.T

Yes but I'm glad they can start being taken off this list. They were always more popular overseas than in Korea since their company focused them more in different countries. But now the sold out of their 10,000 fan meeting seats in 3 minutes. They sold out their season's greetings twice. Once they sold out in 2 hours and the fans made Pledis produce more that sold out in less than a day. They couldn't provide the supply for the their light sticks which made some of the orders get canceled. They just sold out their first Korean concert in minutes. I was picking my seats and then everything was sold out so I couldn't even complete the sale. They are also the first sub-unit and the first group with less than 7 members to sell more than 200,000 albums in a week. They are the 4th artists to sell 200,000 albums in a week behind EXO, BTS, and Wanna One. They had the one the top 10 sales of the year even though their album came out in October. So I'm happy for them. I think you would really like some of their music since they are very talented and very humble.
I feel like B.A.P will regain their popularity some day but it still may not be as much as what they could have been :'( I love them so much they deserve more

honestly, I was a fan of basically all of these groups and besides wanting to murder the CEO's of these companies I feel so damn sorry for the members. imagining working your ass off for so many years and doing basically everything to debut (we all know how horrible life as a trainee is bc u have no safe future, no social life and practice all the time), and when you finally think its going to be better bc you debuted your group fails and you might even be in debt because of some contracts and stuff. I just feel so sorry, there are so many groups debuting and disbanding every year that not all of them can be popular and that kinda breaks my heart because it's the dream of all of them and they all worked so hard....

And the CEO of their agency (Open World Entertainment) was arrested because of sexual abuse case. What a pitty that the talented boys got the effect. Even they didn't get as many attention as others on their latest korean song "Lucky Man" since their long hiatus. They're really talented, I swear. 😭😭

There was this long, awkward silence until Byungjoo said he'd been working out and someone else mentioned practicing. These boys are bored stiff! Byungjoo has mentioned wanting to act. Do they let him? No! Jennissi was supposed to have a mix tape last year. Did Hunus promote it? No! And that's probably why he left. Hansol choreographs dances and works to keep boredom at bay, and Sanggyun's gone on Produce 101 for exposure he can't get under Hunus. I'm glad the boys aren't being overworked, but being underworked can be almost as bad.

Pledis debuted amazing groups (seventeen, pristin, NU'EST, after school. Etc.) but decided to treat them awfully, seventeen is so big because they dont relay on Pledis too much
Ikon too. They went on a year+ hiatus from Korea after a few months of debuting cuz the company sent them to japan/overseas to do many tours/fan meetings. They were EXTREMELY popular in Korea during debut though, I just wish the company kept them in Korea longer to stabilize their Korean fan base before continuously sending them overseas with minimal to no promotions in Korea.
i will never forgive Cho PD for what he did to ToppDogg and EVOL, he destroyed two super quality groups because of his greed--at least he isnt in charge of the company anymore. however in case you guys never knew, he stole 150k from a Japanese showcase, PGOON thankfully called it out but now there is confirmed legal action against him.

Red Velvet had always been marketed as having dual concepts I.e the red and the velvet. It’s only recently that they have actually combined them. DSP was probably trying to make a Kara-SNSD hybrid with Rainbow but they didn’t do well in the beginning. Bubbly fun sound at the start but got into a mature/sexier image then back to cute fun for a while before the Rainbow Blaxx sub unit and Black Swan comeback.
When they had success the company left them in the basement to focus on Kara’s massive JPop success.
RV dont do that. They just have a Red and a Velvet side. With two different concepts that they promote interchangeably, everyone should know this

This is somehow true because back then, groups who change a lot (members, concepts, etc) don't get much spotlight in public. but some groups like T-ara, were pretty well-known for their concept changes, hence they called the chameleon group, making them a top-tier group before MBK ruined their lives. In Rainbow's case, the lack of promotions played a part too. They hit big with "A", but DSP were too focused on Kara back then so they sent Rainbow to Japan, doing Japanese promotions. Their fans in Korea being left thirsty for too long, and many new groups stole the spotlight. Such an unfortunate event for a rising group.
Anyways 3rd gen groups are mainly known for their diverse concepts, because having such concepts is kind of.. the trend? for now. Consistent groups sell more back then, because during the 2nd gen days aka the good old days, consistency and having a solid identity are the keys (unless you already hit big. concept change will be a bonus point).

BAP was literally the most popular boy group back in 2012 and 2013, even EXO back then didn't have as much popularity... BAP was also so big in the US and even more after "One Shot" which is an iconic song! That Hiatus really DESTROYED them.

From looking at BAP's recent tours...they still have a well-sized international fanbase, especially in Europe. Now it's their Korean fanbase and failure on T$'s part to promote them properly at home that worries me. Also the constant sending-them-off-on-tours thing that T$ likes to pull. And the full schedules and no-break thing...yeah I have more than one bone to pick with T$ Entertainment.
Angelify true. They have a great international fanbase but their main Korean fanbase is weak. They released an album 3 months back, been in Korea for less than a month and now are on a world tour. They don't have much activity in Korea. BAP is my second bias group and they are so talented! They love and support each other but I don't find any surprise if they disband when their contract expires (hopefully they don't but hope they change their company)

Don't get me wrong, I was super happy to get the chance to see them live earlier this year during their U.S. tour, but they need to get their Korean fanbase back and shipping them overseas every year is not going to do that. As much as we international fans adore them and do our best to support them, we just aren't enough to keep a group flourishing, they need more domestic events and income.

They are blowing up now. I think when he comes back it's going to be great. Most of us couldn't even get concert tickets. I was in the portal picking my seats and when I hit the button all the tickets were sold. I was so sad since I was flying there from America. So hopefully they will have a concert in Japan because they sold out all their tickets in minutes. It will probably be impossible to get tickets at all when Minhyun comes back. But now some of their older albums are selling for $350. I'm glad I got two Season's Greetings because they are actually selling for about $150. So they are a hot item now and they have had so many fashion shoots - we have been buying everything and their new light sticks are about to come out. Right now the problem with Pledis is they are not providing enough supply for Nu'est merchandise. The other light sticks had sales canceled because they didn't make enough. The Season's Greetings sold out in 2 hours - so fans made Pledis restock them and they sold out in a day. But Pledis needs to get better with telling people Nu'est's schedule - since we still have to try finding it in different places and sharing it with each other.
If 9muses have a proper management, maybe they will popular like apink :')

Until now these companies have not learned their lesson and keep doing it with their newer groups. If you notice too the groups mentioned in the video have at least 1 member that makes it controversial because of their hardwork and/or voicing out. I loved each and everyone of these groups and I'm just sad they didn't get the love now that they were almost getting before.

I don't trust Cube's management. CLC is so underrated and they seem confused with their concept changes every comeback. Hobgoblin and Black Dress are amazing but who knows what concept their next comeback will be. Pentagon, I haven't heard from them since their debut. I'm a reasonably new kpop fan, I didn't start listening to it until around March 2016 and the reason was Topp Dogg. Their song the Beat, was the first kpop song I ever heard and I instantly fell in love with their songs and personalities and seeing what has happened to them now honestly makes me cry. Boyfriend, A6P and History were other groups I got into fairly quickly afterwards and a similar thing has happened to them, honestly what is wrong with these companies it makes me so mad!
Having Boyfriend and BAP on this list hit really close to home. Janus and One Shot were the two songs that got me into kpop back in early 2013. And I remember most of everything on this list happening and it breaks my heart that so many idols have gotten robbed from their dreams because of shitty management
