Ricky Watters was a borderline HOF running back and showed it at 1:26:12. He doesnt get anywhere near enough credit for S.Frans great season in 1994. When he left, as good as their offense was, it wasnt the same without Watters in 1995.
@@obimaul1 Yeah very true. He was the perfect RB for that west coast offense. When he caught thise swing passes from Steve Young, the guy just explodes out of the backfield.
I thought I gave the man enough credit but it appears I did not. They had a makeshift running game in ninety one and miss the playoffs entirely. Although Sy wins the MVP in 92, the niners had the number one rushing attack in the league around week 14. There were a number of games during that season where he was a work horse carrying the ball twenty plus times a game. He was never going to do that every week. On a team like san fran, but it really added another dimension to his offense like you said. I had the same thought recently about his carries decreasing. I thought they got away from him. In the title game in 1992, after he fumbled in the first half. Always Found him to be a notch below guys like Emmitt and Barry and Thurman because of those fumbles. He fumbled just enough to keep you from giving him the ball as much as his talent would otherwise dictate. Niners definitely repeat in 95 with a healthy Watters imo.
By this point in 94 the 49ers had gotten healthy & found their identify. Maybe the closest team I've seen to being unbeatable from about week 5 all the way to the Superbowl, only losing once in Minnesota in week 17 while resting their starters after securing the #1 seed.
@@BAYAREA-kd1ig I was there lol. I was also in KC that year. I live in Iowa & used go to Min, KC & sometimes Chicago, St Louis & GB when SF came... I've never seen a live win in 11 games so now I'm superstitious & refuse to go see them live. My presence is the friggen kiss of death.
One of the top five greatest seasons in the history of the National Football League. No, I do not have statistics to back that up. I'm a 49er fan who was in his senior year in high school in 1994 and am completely biased.
This was a great team. They would not be denied in '94. I think the '84 team was probably the best. 15-1 and I think they only lost to Pittsburgh by 3 points on a controversial call. That '89 team was pretty dang good too
@@ericradford2142 He won the SB, humm...maybe a banana could have won a SB with that D. The Ravens D was insanly great. Al he (Dilfer) had to do was not turn over the ball and hand off not complicated even for him.
Just think. 12 years later, Dilfer would be back in Candlestick with a Super Bowl ring and throwing interceptions and getting sacked as a 49er himself.
This is a shot in the dark, but would you have Colts-Cowboys (1996), Steelers-Patriots (1997), Broncos-Patriots (1997) Patriots-Jets (1999), Eagles-Cowboys (1995 Playoffs)
This game aired on KTVU channel 2 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Bro ty I love these classic NFL games I just get so much nostalgia 😊😊
Those Buccaneers uniforms were beautiful! Bring them back!
And they'll start losing again
Tony Dungy always saw the Sherbet Jerseys as a jinx.
They're coming back in 2022!
Eric Davis played his best season that 94 season
He had a good 95 season as well.

It's seems like they purposely decreased his carries that season

They never recovered from the loss of watters and deion. Especially watters.

Closest was the 85 bears. A machine
That loss to Minnesota was the definition of BFD

"I guarentee that Trent Dilfer will be a great qb in this league some day"........ OOPS
He has as many rings as Steve Young

What a game. What a show of complete dominance. Must've scared all the other teams watching this.
In back to back weeks they put up 40. This was also a huge rebound from the previous game in Candlestick where the 49ers gave up 40 to the Eagles.

wow former Bucs QB vs future 49er QB!
Tampa Bay had the best "good ugly" uniforms in the history of the NFL. They should definitely bring them back.
Those orange uniforms were ugly it is good they changed to the red jerseys.
Heard they’re going to wear them a few times this upcoming season.
Color scheme was Papaya and Fruit Punch. Really. Look it up.
Looks HD for Vid Tape
Deion in a weak scuffle hahahah 1:24:35
My first game going to a niner game
I kinda miss those creamsicle unies lol

Hard to imagine at the time Bucs second year safety John Lynch would one day be the GM of the 49ers beginning in 2017.
Kenny Albert’s voice sounds a bit higher pitched here and nasally
