      Thank You for seeing this, I am COMPLETELY IGNORED because myself and the BADD GT dont fit the mold. I am asked ALL the time why don't more people know about this record and the only answer is "the other guys" spend way more time peddling their vaporware than running their car.
      I am considering letting the world "know what I know" from my years of setting up and many times driving for the "other guys", I haven't so far because it would DESTROY a lot of business models if people actually knew the real backstory of the hypercar companies that have tested @ JBPG for years...

    Thanks, interesting to get answers to FAQs. Here's a (not so) common question - is it worth setting up a "spintron" for tire/wheel assemblies and pre-run them at simulated speeds to qualify them before a run? You could confirm balance and mechanical integrity if nothing else. You'd need a pressure drum or belt if you wanted to get more realistic, but even simple spin runs might be useful.

      Great question, I have been involved in downforce tire testing in the past,using high speed a tire testing machine. I base my tire choice on the best results. I only run tires once or twice on the BADD GT above 260mph and testing them before the run would possibly weaken the belting so I don't pre-test the tires I am going to use. I am superstitious that way from past experience. Thanks, JB

    over 100mph over the claimed tire limit is madness isn't it? (By madness I mean it seems unconscious)

    • @davidg3944
      @davidg3944 9 дней назад +1

      I'm not an expert, but I can guess at it - I believe it's to ensure the chute is stable and "pulling" at the centerline of the vehicle. If the chute should fully open while it was offset to centerline, it could suddenly yaw the vehicle into an unstable orientation. Keeping the car on throttle helps ensure fast opening and more dynamic stability (maintain chassis/tire function on the tarmac), then the brakes can be applied to finish stopping the car.
      Just my thoughts, hopefully the channel folks will give a complete answer.

      You make sense but I still wonder about about it.
      The driver could freewheel the car gently and I hardly any safety issue on that. Also keeping the engine full throttle while the chute opens may put a lot of torque on the engine and the drive train so...
