Now they make electric ones too - they have a pump inside which loads automatically the water and shoots it out on rapid bursts. they have a LiPo battery inside which have to be recharged from time to time.
Great job. And great video. Non magnetic (stainless) screws are to avoid corrosion from pool water. Use silicone, teflon or lithium on o-rings. Petroleum products will dissolve un vulcanized rubber orings. Keep up making your entertaining videos.
It definetely looks the part of being "engineered in Germany", that is how we tend to do things 😜 Regarding the purpose of making non-magnetic screws: They are probably stainless steel, so that they don't rust if used in a device that gets wet. Weirdly specific attention to details when you consider the build quality of the rest of the device.
it looks like a giant biro pen when it's on it's side. My gran used to have a weird water sprayer to use in the garden, it must have been very old. It was like a giant bike pump with a watering can rose like head on the end. You would stick it in a water barrel and draw the handle back, then push it in to spray water out. It was the ultimate weapon in water fights 😆 I've never seen one other than the one she had. What is that orange thing with the metal seat and wheels in your garden?
Hey Randi! Becoming a new avid fan of both vintage robots and your channel. I was curious if you would consider doing an essential tool/accessories video or a top 5/10 favorite Robot list. Also do you offer repair services? If I get stuck on this Verbot I’m hoping I don’t have to trash it lol! Thanks for all the content!
@@RandiRain No worries! Can you point me in the right direction for a place that sells there generic gears you used for the playtime robots? Appreciate all the content and the response.
Have you been watching Farscape on Disney+? 🤔 BTW the purpose of non-magnetic screws? They probably don't rust, a good idea for something that lives its life in water. :) Nice job.
Looks like it might give a 90s Super Soaker a run for its money, those things pumped up stung like a bugger if you got hit on bare skin. Theres something sorta similar to the Intertec about, not super powerful but has the water come out almost in a bullet fashion and runs on a rechargeable battery, non Gun colours but are often based on real Pistols, I thought I'd got a Steyr but ordered a Desert eagle and theres all sorts of others.
While toys have always been made relatively cheaply, cost cutting is above all other considerations today. I'll give you an example... Modern TVs. The LEDs (that backlight) are always over-driven and they are the most prone to failure part in a modern TV. If you have ever had a TV fail where it turns on for a second or two and then immediately turns off, you have run in to this issue. Modern TVs should last 50 years. But they don't because they run the part out of spec to save 12 cents per LED. The endless creaking of this water pistol while you were fixing it shows just how poorly it has been made. Toys have the unique property of being aimed at a child in a very tight age range. If this toy is aimed at 8-12 year olds, it won't be designed to last more than 4 years at best. Whereas theoretically you could buy a TV at 18 and use it for the next 50 years, this just isn't the case with toys. They are also extremely price sensitive. Most parents would rather purchase multiple cheap toys than 1 or 2 expensive ones.
Randi finally made it rain.

Nice job Detective Rain! Nothing escapes your eagle eyes and mystical wit!

@@georgemartinez1720yes. It is PTFE and silicone
looked like a lot of fun to use. I want one 😁😁
Good job sussing out how it works. Most people couldn't do that.
1st video from you I watch, you did an amazing job with that repair, I am subscribing.
Thanks. Hope you stick around.
This is what you use when the robots turn evil?
That makes sense 😂
Great way to keep the cat inline!

Yeah, I suppose that makes sense with the screws. It's so annoying though.
Ripley Rain 🔫 make a good prop for cosplay knowing it's German probably was tested as crowd control option.
It does look like something a scifi B movie would spray paint silver and use.

I've never heard of that water thing. The orange thing is a scooter you can sit on and work in the garden.

Thank you. I don't usually take in repairs on stuff that I've already done videos on.

if only it was made earlier so we could have gotten the water shotgun that looked like an actual shotgun
That would be a great Intertech gun.

Randi, you are the Queen of Plastic Repair. You "AIMED" to fix the gun and you suceeded. You also "AIMED" to "SHOOT" the Video and the bottles. LOL.
Thank you very much. It's what keeps me going.

Engineered great, designed cheaply.
If that thing were mine, i would have gotten it apart, then threw it in the garbage.😂
