Wonderful talk. I love the amazing chemistry between you both and the beautiful flow of interaction that leads to fascinating debates. You both give me hope, sanity and strength when all around me are people with seemingly unshakable 3d mentalities. Your discussions are my refuge. jason, can you recommend to me one of your books that I can use for practical application in my daily life?. Thanx again to you both, what an adorable couple you are.

Wow brother! Your appreciation blew me away. My wife is so happy that you see the depth of these discussions. Consider your comment pinned brother. As for my books, well I'd suggest my new book out next week 'Emotional Intuition for Peak Performance' or 'Effortless Living' and also 'Fasting the Mind.' Actually, 'Fasting the Mind' may be a good beginning, but in any order is fine brother. Your humility and sanity gives me hope brother and makes all the hard work worth it.

Bless you, your wife and for the kind feedback. I shall need to think about which book, all 4 would be nice but my funds are limited. Thanx again to you both, love, gratitude and best wishes!.

Thanks Jason...It's all about control and ego I guess. A baby is born laughing, crying, and part of nature. Then by the time were toddlers, the programming comes in hot and heavy. It took the Tao to show me the path to freedom. It's still a struggle, but I guess the Tao is a lifelong goal where the journey is full of hope, joy, and new adventures. Thanks again Brother.

oh man, this is so REAL and freeing ... love your talks and the way you both think. So dope to be learning new things and changing outlook ...."we should contradict ourselves all the time" -"it does you" "not trying to hold onto the image which is not me" "there is no I there" - yes! Bernardo :-D

Kay on a more serious note, this is really enlightening. I just don't have a serious bone in my body. I've thought of life as one big play/dance 💃💃💃

I want to be a sage :) I was awarded a first degree black belt in Shaolin Chuan Fa by the United Studios of Self-Defense. It helps a lot during my tai chi, qigong, and yogic practices. Two prerequisites I can tell you of becoming a sage is that poop is not supposed to stink and the Hanna Somatic neuroeducational (stretching) technique should be incorporated.

I would like to request from you guys different reading materials. I read Geography of Thought when you mentioned it. I am new to the eastern philosophy of thought. I read some really far out stuff by especially western authors. I dispensed eastern philosophy because of all the new age stuff. I especially like this channel as it bridge into my western upbringing. I discovered Alan Watts and he really opened up. So like books that go into stuff and explain like you guys do. I am rigid thinker and I think this has hurt me. So it is helpful with this podcast as you explain well. So a friendly nudge with different books that makes easier for people to understand context. That is my sales pitch. 👍

analogizing Confucianism with todays perspectives using the lenses of religion and codified social roles.. you are what you do.. brings constraints to the long life we now
have potential to live.... we are weighted down by roles.. yet if we choose to stay empty and remain a vessel to respond.. not just react.. and remain agile to realities of life ....this is the path of non suffering

Please remember that certain hindu philosophies such as dvaita support eternal damnation like Christianity.
Hinduism is comprehensive and has many philosophies. Therefore, it does not proselytise. India has the second largest Muslim population. Many religions have evolved in India and they have also embraced many other religions.
Great saints such as ramana maharshi, kanchi periyava had several Christian and Muslim devotees.
There is no size fits all. People at different stages of life come and benefit according to their capacity.

Hi Jason, I live in the west and as a taoist it's a struggle for me. On one hand my mind fights between feeling like I should be someone but none of the shit that brings good money appeals to me. I'm very creative & sensitive my passion is music but I'll never be able to make it a career. What would you recommend I do? I'm only 22 but I feel so behind in life 😔 I'm just lost.

I was curious to wonder what your thoughts are on hope. I’ve been hearing things along the lines of letting go of hope. I was wondering what that might be in a Taoist perspective. I am still in a very adolescent stage of my learning.

after reading of these comments, there's thoughts of------ "awwwww thats so sweet and kind and encouraging": everyonetaking a minute to share some good vibes... thats one of the bonuses of this channel, love is felt, almost like the comment are written for me....i read in a spiritual book , dont quote me, but along the lines of ------- we r abundance, without any lack or need, the windows of the storehouse are overflowing-----...thats what came to mind as these comments are being read....the episode is the storehouse filled to the brim and the comments are the overflow of abundance...

I think that one of the biggest things is the translation from the Chinese language into English loses the meaning because of the times but mostly the cultural differences.
I think one of my favorite books is Seven Taoist masters I first read it I think the early 1990s or late 1980s I have read it a few times.
Being genuine to be true to who you really are which I have noticed very few people are because they are caught up on the net following people trying to be like them buying the newest things cloths cars homes all sorts of things but never connected to nature and their own truth of who they are, they may think they know but in truth they do not they are running what-ifs he said she said what might be what could be ( I call those Demons) inside their heads in the background all of the time. one of the many keys is to just be don't think too much or dwell
