My mother's anscestors were exiled to Virginia as indentured servants for being on the losing side of the Jacobite rebellion so this song has special meaning to me. I knew Cynthia McQuillin a little bit, as she was a prominent part of the Bay Area Filk/Folk community. She was a very sweet woman with a beautiful voice, who wrote great songs. The year before she died, she admired my Silken Windhound Service Dog Corby, and wished she could have a Service Dog someday. She had many cats, though!
