I know this is several years old but there's a logical progression to the naming scheme. It started with the Rising Gundam, then Shining Gundam, then it goes God Gundam. While Burning fits better with the -ing suffix, the progression is one who is Rising, then becomes a Shining figure, then attains Godhood. Burning does sound better when listing them off but it doesn't really fit with the theming when you think about it.
The 90's Gundams were sleeker and smaller, just a staple of the times really. Most universal century suits were 18 meters tall,but Wing, G, Cross Bones, F91, Victory, and Gundam X featured mobile suits that stood about 15 meters tall. I believe Burning and Shining stood at about 16 meters so scale wise they'd be bigger than the Wing series by just a hair. Compare to the Nu Gundam that stands at a staggering 23 meters, makes your other figures or models look out of scale. I'm a big Gundam fan.
I agree , comparing my RD double 0 to my unicorn is just ridiculous but then again theyre all gundams though not from the same Universe I think they all match up together. I'm a very big fan of UC though coz of their longer legs and wider shoulders haha

I gotta say, this head of the Burning Gundam captures the anime's aesthetic more than any other kit/figure. But this is a wonderful review. Props. Sad to see my favorite Gundam have so many problems in a figure, problems which you'd think are trivial to it.
+AnthonysCustoms Couldn't agree more! But then again, most figures of this Gundam are pretty great. After all, the Master Grade of this Gundam was one of the first (if not THE first) to have an entire movable inner frame inside the model.
I'm certain the name God Gundam has something to do with ''God Hand'', which has something to do with martial arts. I do like ''Burning'' more for the name. Great review, Looking forward to getting this guy.
Those Katana shaped beam sabers are one of the best things about this Gundam I think. I can't remember if Shining Gundam had them too, but I recall that his are green blades anyway. I used to own both of them from the MSIA line that was sold over here in North America back in the 90s and early 2000s, but I think that figure line died off. That's a shame though as they had a lot of MS that don't have a Robot Damashii release yet.
If you look at pictures of the Burbing Finger attack on google images, most of pictures are with the open hand, like the figure. Still would have been nice to have the open hand AND the Vulcan hands.
Well, this figure is certainly more posable than HG model kit of this guy, it has a lot more going on in the neck and in the torso among other things. BTW, judging from the same model kit (haven't watch the show in a while), the section behind the opening plate in the leg is okay as it is. Maybe you are mixing it up with the simular section on the Shining Gundam.
***** i just saw it in an episode. there is definitely more in there than the figure shows. its not nearly as much as the side panel on the Shining Gundam but it is there.

I will pick a robot spirits over an msia anytime, but for the this figure, even though it looks better than the msia, I have to say the msia God gundam is a much better figure. It has similar articulation, a functioning core fighter! And not to mention, the painting on the shoulders will bother the OCD out of me. Also one of the God gunsam msias came with Funsaiki, whkch was the one I owned. And it was pearly too. Unless they release the Shadow/Spiegel and/or Shining gundam, I may have to pass on this guy...well actually, lets see how the Master gundam comes out. If it is better, it may esite me to get this one.
shining gundam was shown already so its happening. they also showed funsaiki but we dont know if thats gonna be a figure, statue, or just a con display.

Well as long as it comes with the standard face and super mode I'm buying it! If it doesn't come in standard form then I may just consider getting the banpresto humable version. I own the Humable rising gundam, and that figure is amazing!
It doesn't even have a full core lander?! I was pretty excited when this was announced, then seeing the pictures I became a tad disappointed. Now I am pretty much entirely disappointed. I think at this point I like the MG version the best. I'm still holding my breath for a PG at some point though...
It is unfortunate that you feel that way. Saying Gundam sucks is empirically incorrect which is evidenced by the duration and stamina of the franchise. Many people like Gundam. I am included in that group. Being less popular than Marvel or Dragon Ball (or whatever) is not a good reason to not review products from the IP.
Alright I don't really think they suck. I just enjoy watching your reviews and Gundam is not really my thing. But every time I go to your channel that's all I see as of late. My apologies.
Just be appreciative that he's spending money on figures that most people can't really can't get their hands on coz do their price point , I enjoy his gundam reviews most than the others. I am a big fan of his Gundam/RD series it'd be a shame if he just suddenly ended it.
